Bases de Datos en BiotaPR
Este sistema tiene datos que provienen de estas bases de datos biológicas
Base de Datos | Número de reportes | Número de especies | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
AntWeb http://www.antweb.org | 190 | 34 | AntWeb is the world's largest online database of images, specimen records, and natural history information on ants. It is community driven and open to contribution from anyone with specimen records, natural history comments, or images. Our mission is to publish for the scientific community high quality images of all the world's ant species. AntWeb provides tools for submitting images, specimen records, annotating species pages, and managing regional species lists. |
eBird http://ebird.org | 343,360 | 343 | A real-time, online checklist program, eBird has revolutionized the way that the birding community reports and accesses information about birds. Launched in 2002 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, eBird provides rich data sources for basic information on bird abundance and distribution at a variety of spatial and temporal scales. |
Global Biodiversity Information Facility http://www.gbif.org | 93,491 | 5,764 | GBIF.org (3 January 2016). GBIF Occurrence Download http://doi.org/10.15468/dl.hltf8f The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) is an international open data infrastructure, funded by governments. It allows anyone, anywhere to access data about all types of life on Earth, shared across national boundaries via the Internet. By encouraging and helping institutions to publish data according to common standards, GBIF enables research not possible before, and informs better decisions to conserve and sustainably use the biological resources of the planet. GBIF operates through a network of nodes, coordinating the biodiversity information facilities of Participant countries and organizations, collaborating with each other and the Secretariat to share skills, experiences and technical capacity. |
Monitoreo de Anfibios y Reptiles de Puerto Rico | 642 | 33 | Proyecto que corrió en 2006-2008 para colectar reportes de anfibios y reptiles de Puerto Rico |
UPRRP Herbarium http://herbario.uprrp.edu/ | 17,044 | 2,150 | The UPRRP Herbarium is a repository of preserved vascular plants, bryophytes, algae and fungi that are available for studies in taxonomy, systematics, natural history, ecology, biogeography, genetics, ethnobotany, and other topics. Not only do we have an excellent representation of the flora of Puerto Rico, we also have numerous specimens from many other islands of the Caribbean Basin. The UPRRP Herbarium is presently amongst the most active in the Caribbean with current holdings of over 54,000 specimens, most of which are vascular plants. We also have a small library that meets most needs for the identification of Caribbean plants. |
VertNet http://www.vertnet.org | 18,357 | 888 | VertNet (3 January 2016). VertNet is a NSF-funded collaborative project that makes biodiversity data free and available on the web. VertNet is a tool designed to help people discover, capture, and publish biodiversity data. It is also the core of a collaboration between hundreds of biocollections that contribute biodiversity data and work together to improve it. VertNet is an engine for training current and future professionals to use and build upon best practices in data quality, curation, research, and data publishing. Yet, VertNet is still the aggregate of all of the information that it mobilizes. |
