Excellent Venue
Amazing staff, amenities, service and views. From before we had them as our venue we knew it was the place where we wanted to celebrate our marriage. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience, since day one we had excellent communication. The staff at la Concha helped us with everything that needed to be added or changed.
Always very responsive and quick to help.
Nidymar, Irene and Jessica helped us in every way possible and were always on top of things. They gave us the most lovely experience. From day one, through tasting, before the wedding and after. La Concha made our day the most special of them all.
Thank you to La Concha and their team for everything.

Beach wedding 06.21.2022
La Concha Resort was beautiful and amazing. Having a destination wedding is not easy, as you do not know what to expect until you get there. La Concha worked well with our vendors and the day was smooth and perfect. The ceremony was on the beach, with reception inside La Mirador. The food was great, especially the cocktail hour. Our guests had an amazing time and I couldn’t be happier on how perfect our wedding was.
La Concha is a beautiful resort and would definitely recommend it for someone looking to plan a wedding in San Juan PR.

La Concha San Juan Puerto Rico Travel Guide 2022
Like everyone else here on Planet Earth, I’ve been at peak burnout levels the past few months years. So when I was offered the opportunity to take a «wellness–inspired getaway» for a few days in Puerto Rico, I immediately yanked my dusty suitcase out from the depths of my closet and added the city of San Juan to my weather app. I visited Puerto Rico in late February, and while said weather app forecasted three straight days of rain, every day I spent there ended up being absolutely gorgeous. It’s like the old saying goes for the tropics, «if you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute.» That reasoning alone is why Puerto Rico is the place to go year-round.
Another thing: This is your sign to take a solo trip. I have never really vacationed on my own before, so I was nervous about traveling alone. However, my hosts at the gorgeous La Concha hotel made me feel so welcome, and everyone I met on the island was so warm and friendly. I feel like this trip got me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible: I hiked barefoot through the Yunque rainforest, took a dip in the literal fountain of youth, and ate so many (edible) flowers while learning a lot about Puerto Rico’s wellness practices. I definitely left this trip feeling re-energized, and maybe I wouldn’t have actually tried all of those things if I hadn’t flown solo. Do yourself a favor and copy some of these excursions (esp the chocolate yoga).
Major shoutout to La Concha and Discover Puerto Rico for hosting me too! (Full transparency: This entire trip was paid for in order to write this review.)
Stay
- La Concha Renaissance San Juan Resort: A gorgeous hotel right on the beach in San Juan? An absolute dream. I’m not exaggerating when I say my room had one of the most ah-mazing ocean views. Every night fell asleep in my room to the sound of crashing waves and every morning I was treated to complimentary room service. What more could a girl want? My first night there I sampled La Concha’s signature drinks in the stunning lobby bar and a got a full tour of its impressive beachfront grounds. There are multiple pools to choose from, including an infinity pool that overlooks the ocean (yes!) and is thankfully an adults-only section of the property (win/win).

Coamo Hot Springs: According to legend, this is where Indigenous people native to Puerto Rico told Ponce de Leon to go when he was searching for the fountain of youth :0. These thermal baths have a high mineral content, and may or may not have healing and restorative powers, legend has it. The grounds are very chill and filled with a steady influx of locals who come daily to bathe in these ~sacred waters~ so you know it’s the real deal.
If you do visit, I recommend going early in the day, as midday becomes a lil too hot for comfort with the sun beating right down on you.

Casa Alternavida: During my stay, I spent the day at Casa Alternavida, a wellness retreat dedicated to helping people de-stress, promote well-being, and set new habits and intentions for a healthier and well-balanced lifestyle (amen). Located in Rio Grande, it’s truly a stunning property with *the* warmest and friendliest staff you could imagine. A group of us spent the morning doing yoga on the rooftop with our instructor, Sitara.
Their chefs prepared breakfast and lunch for us, with a wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, and—much to my delight—meat options!

- Rainforest hike: In the afternoon our Casa Alternavida guide Yancy took us on a hike in the El Yunque rainforest. This was a pretty challenging trek (and between you and me I’m a mfckn city gurl) but our guide was so knowledgable about the forest and our route I never once felt unsafe. In fact I even had–dare I say it—fun. I took my shoes off. Yeah, my shoes. In the muddy rainforest. According to Yancy, it’s a process called «earthing» and is supposed to connect you more with nature, so I was into it. He showed us the different native plants and edible flowers (I actually ate a lot of flowers on this trip, tbh). The trail finished at the most picturesque river where we swam and took turns jumping from a rope swing! I know it sounds corny to say this this experience changed my life, so I won’t.
What I will say is that it made me see my relationship to both my well-being and nature a lot differently.
- Chocolate Ohm: While I was in La Concha, I went to a *chocolate yoga* session, which was as delightfully weird as it sounds. We mediated in a penthouse studio room that had glass walls and a killer view of the ocean below. Our teacher performed a relaxing Reiki sound bath and covered our faces with chocolate masks while we meditated. Def a 10/10 experience! Please enjoy this embarrassing photo of me!

Pública: Pública is situated behind a chic gallery space which adds to the cute lil industrial-warehouse-meets-art-gallery vibes. The food not only tasted delish, but the dishes were practically works of art as well. I’d recommend trying their jollof as well as the mozzarella salad. As for desserts, the papaya y queso was h-e-a-v-e-n! I’ll let the pics speak for themselves.
..
- Más Abajo: Another absolute must-try spot is Más Abajo, located in Los Llanos, Coamo. Equal parts eclectic and authentic, Más Abajo is an outdoor restaurant with amazing Puerto Rican dishes and a fab garden atmosphere. I had a traditional Puerto Rican dish of plantain-stuffed pork that was divine!

TOP 10 best beaches in Spain according to tourists
Spain is an ideal place not only for an active and cultural holiday, but also for a beach holiday. The best beaches in Spain, according to tourists who rated the beaches on TripAdvisor, will be told by the review of the ATOR Bulletin — including how to get to them and what to do on the spot.
The main thing to start with is to choose a beach for yourself. They are in Spain for every taste: on the sea and ocean, on the mainland and islands, with sand and pebbles, the hallmark of many of them is the «Blue Flag». Let’s take a look at 10 Spanish beaches to choose the one that will inspire us to celebrate the summer of our dreams!
LA CONCHA BEACH, SAN SEBASTIAN BAY
Delicious, bright, serene, picturesque, photogenic — this is all about La Concha, the most famous city beach in Europe. Crystal clear turquoise water, soft sand, gentle sun, amazing atmosphere, tranquility and incendiary parties — it’s not for nothing that La Concha is included in the rating of the pearls of Spain.
The shape of the bay where the beach is located does not resemble a pearl, but a shell. Mount Urgull rises from one end of it, and Mount Igueldo from the other. And the very name La Concha in Spanish means «shell».
Photo: pixabay. com
You feel here really like in a shell — comfortable, cozy and relaxed. Despite the fact that the beach is impressive in size (1350 meters long and about 40 meters wide) and it is always crowded here, there is no feeling that you are cramped.
What to do? You can swim or enjoy landscape pictures. Or play volleyball, go in for water sports, and also go to Santa Clara Island, you can swim or take a kayak boat.
How to get there: La Concha beach is located in the heart of San Sebastian, between the fishing port and Pico del Loro.
PLAYA DE ILETAS, FORMENTERA, BALEARIC ISLANDS
Formentera is the smallest of the four Balearic Islands and Playa de Illetas is one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. About rest on such beaches they usually say: «emotions over the edge.» Here it is true, as in a fairy tale: the endless blue sea, white sand caressing the feet, the incomparable, incredible beauty of the local landscapes.
What to do? Who will feel good here? First of all, families with children (they will appreciate the gentle entrance to the sea), active tourists and lovers of silence. There are practically no places of entertainment here, and as for the busyness of the beach, it is better to come in the morning or in the late afternoon. During the day it is crowded, but, again, you do not experience discomfort in this regard.
How to get there: beach is located 4 km. from the port of La Savina, in the Salines Nature Reserve on the island of Formentera. The island itself is 6 km away. south of Ibiza. Almost all hotels in Formentera can be reached by bicycles to the beach. You can get to the island of Formentera by ferry or high-speed catamaran from Ibiza. The journey takes an hour by ferry, and half an hour by catamaran.
PLAYA DE MURO BEACH, MALLORCA
Nine kilometers of snow-white beach bliss, a smooth entrance to the purest sea, the smell of pines and junipers, sand dunes, a natural park and scenic routes — this is what awaits guests of Alcudia Bay and Playa de Muro.
Photo: pixabay. com
The beach is divided into three sectors. In the west (closer to Alcudia) the beach is well equipped, there is all the necessary infrastructure: showers, bars, restaurants. Please note that the rental of sun loungers here is not budget — within 15 euros. There are also bars and restaurants along the beach.
The second sector or Es Brach (starts from s’Aubert and goes 1.7 km east to the natural park s’Albufera) is famous for its virgin nature — 1.5 km of sand dunes, juniper thickets and stunning beaches. It is best to drive up from the side of Casetes de Capellans or from the side of Es Brac.
The third part of the beach is called Es Capellans. Unlike his «colleagues», he does not have a «Blue Flag».
What to do? This part of Mallorca is popular with active lifestyles. Here they go sailing, paragliding and other sports. A great bonus is the Albufera Natural Park with hiking trails.
How to get there: beach is located in the resort of Alcudia, located 62 km from the capital of the island of Mallorca — Palma. Transfer from the airport will take approximately 1.5 hours. The beach is located just three kilometers from the old town.
PLAYA DE COFETE BEACH, FUERTEVENTURA, CANARY ISLANDS
Every time we hear the phrase «paradise beach», the imagination draws a picture of an island lost in the middle of the ocean, far away and, most likely, uninhabited.
We hasten to please — there is such an island much closer, this is Fuerteventura and its Cofete beach. That’s where a variety of bizarre shapes and colors, that’s where you can turn on the fantasy at the highest power.
Photo: commons. wikimedia. org
What to do? On this beach you can walk for hours without the risk of meeting at least one person. The beach is secluded, which allowed it to keep its nature completely untouched.
How to get there: you can get to the beach by car along the road leading from the only settlement on the island — the village of Kofete. Or use a bike. It’s worth it: your only companion will be the mountains of Jandia.
PLAYA DE LA BARROS BEACH, PROVINCE OF CADIS
Golden sand, turquoise water, natural parks, the opportunity to combine a secluded beach holiday with a rich excursion program are the main points of attraction for tourists in the southern city of Spain, Chiclana de la Frontera, and its best beach, Playa de la Barrosa.
Photo: commons. wikimedia. org
What to do? The beach has all the attributes for an ideal holiday of this type: a smooth entrance to the sea, cleanliness, silence, a sufficient number of cafes and bars, the opportunity to do water sports.
Fans of cultural pastime will not get bored either. You can combine a beach holiday with a stroll through Chiclana de la Frontera, an ancient Andalusian city of narrow streets, tiled houses and Spanish courtyards. It is worth visiting such iconic historical sites as the church of Iglesia i Convento de Jesus Nazareno and Iglesia de San Juan Baptista, the clock tower of La Torre del Reloj and, of course, the snow-white Castillo Castle de Sancti Petri.
Tourists also love the Cadiz Bay Natural Park, located in the vicinity of Chiclana de la Frontera — there are many different species of birds, including birds of prey.
How to get there: beach is located in the small town of Chiclana de la Frontera, not far from the center. The nearest airport is half an hour away, in Jerez. You can also take the RENFE train, the nearest station is 9 kilometers from the beach. And if you go by car, then you need to choose the A4 Cadiz — Seville highway, which passes right through the city.
PLAYA DEL DUQUE BEACH, TENERIFE
Guests of this beach endow it with the most beautiful epithets, calling it magnificent, amazing, fantastic and attributing to it various feats from the series: «this beach made me happy.»
There is no reason not to trust the rave reviews of numerous tourists. The beach deservedly bears the title of one of the best on the coasts of the resort of Las Americas and Costa Adeje.
Why is this beach so famous? Firstly, its convenient location — in the very center of Tenerife, in the resort area of Costa Adeje and the presence of the Blue Flag on the beach, a guarantor of quality and cleanliness. Secondly, a developed tourist infrastructure: opposite the beach there are exclusive hotels, a promenade with bars and shops, connecting more than eight beaches.
What to do? At the service of tourists on the beach — rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, parking, restaurants, bars, showers, changing rooms, toilets and telephone.
How to get there: beach is located between the towns of Caleta and Playa de Fañabe in the southern municipality of Adeje. From the beach to the large city of Playa de las Americas, only 2.5 km.
SOTAVENTO BEACH, COSTA CALMA, JANDIA PENINSULA
A real relaxed atmosphere reigns here: hot sun, gentle sea, warm white sand, amazing nature. The beach is not crowded, which will appeal not only to family tourists with children, but also, for example, lovers of yoga and meditation. There are neither loud beach parties nor a large number of bars.
All that is here is pretty nature and excellent landscapes. Costa Calma is generally one of the greenest places on the island of Fuerteventura. Lush vegetation is everywhere, which is not typical for arid Fuerteventura.
Photo: commons. wikimedia. org
What to do? It is noteworthy that the beach actually consists of five beaches: La Barca, Risco del Paso, Mirador, Malombre and Los Canarios. Strong winds blow on the Sotavento beach in spring and summer, which also attracts surfers.
How to get there: beach stretches from the town of Morro del Jable to the very border of the Jandia peninsula. Getting here is very simple — the road from Fuerteventura Airport to any of the settlements of the Jandia Peninsula will take no more than an hour, and even less to Morro Jable — 25 minutes.
BEACH DE LAS CANTERAS, LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA
This beach is rated 4. 5 out of 5 by tourists on TripAdvisor, indicating among the pluses: an excellent clean beach, a long coastline, privacy, ideal conditions for practicing all water sports.
Photo: pixabay. com
What to do? The beach is protected by the natural La Barra Reef, which allows vacationers to enjoy swimming in calm waters while surfers ride the waves at the southern tip. “I’m not a beach lover, but this is the best beach I’ve ever seen and I’ll definitely be back,” reads one review on the site.
It is important that along the beach there is a lively promenade Playa de las Canteras with many shops, souvenir shops, restaurants.
How to get there: beach is located in the northeast of the island of Gran Canaria, in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. From the airport can be reached by bus number 60 or taxi.
PLAYA DE BOLOGNA BEACH, CADIS, ANDALUSIA
Another «character» from the series «conquered with its beauty. » The beach is really magnificent and falls in love with itself from the first minutes. So you can lie all day and dissolve in nature. Lovers of complete harmony will also be fine here — at the southern end of the beach you can sunbathe naked.
Photo: commons. wikimedia. org
What to do? If you want to diversify your vacation, go on an educational walk. Near the beach are the ruins of the Roman city of Baelo Claudia, which is perfectly preserved for its 2000-year-old age, and the medieval fortress on the shores of the Strait of Gibraltar in the town of Tarifa.
How to get there: beach is located in the town of Bologna. It consists of only twenty houses, so you won’t be able to pass by a picturesque cozy bay with a snow-white sandy shore. It is more convenient to get to the village from Malaga airport, by bus or taxi. Travel time is 1.5 hours. Either from Tarifa to Bologna, they are only 20 km apart.
PLAYA DE ALCUDIA BEACH, MALLORCA
It is easy to imagine that you are on some neighboring planet, where nature exists in its original form, if you go to the best beach in Mallorca — Playa de Alcudia. Graceful, beautiful, calm.
What to do? An ideal place for family tourists. White sandy beaches and a very gentle entrance to the sea, which is ideal for small children. Frequent guests on the beach and windsurfers.
How to get there: look for the beach in the tourist area of the resort of Alcudia, south of the port. The beach stretches along Avenue Pedro Mas y Reus to Lake Esperanza. You can get here by ferry from Barcelona or from Menorca, or by bus from Mallorca airport, but it’s much longer.

We will begin our acquaintance with this mysterious region with a visit to the resort town of Sumaya and Itsurun Beach, which became the location for filming a number of episodes of the 6th season of Game of Thrones. The choice of location for filming was due to the uniqueness of the natural landscape off the coast of Sumaya. If you climb a cliff hanging over the blue abyss of the ocean, you can clearly see unusual stone formations — flyschs. Formed over millions of years, they resemble the traces of a giant ridge that has passed along the bottom of the ocean. You will be able to take great pictures for memory and imagine how the army of Daenerys lands on the coast of Sumaya. We leave Zumaya and go to the magnificent San Sebastian. We will start our acquaintance with a fashionable resort, a favorite place for European nobility and royalty, from the observation deck on Mount Igeldo. It is from here that the view of La Concha Bay and Santa Clara Island, so familiar to us from postcards and advertising booklets, opens up.

We recommend that you join the gastronomic culture of the Basque Country by stopping by one of the gastronomic bars of the Old Town for lunch, the windows of which are replete with pintxos — real works of culinary art — traditional mini-snacks that are ideally combined with the traditional white wine of the region. We will see the fabulous castle of Arteaga (external inspection). The first most reliable mention of the tower of Arteaga falls on the 15th century. For a long time, the castle was a symbol of feudal wars and experienced family misfortunes. The French emperor Napoleon III and his wife Eugenia de Montijo, heiress of the Arteaga family, were engaged in the restoration of the old tower of Arteaga. As a result, a Gothic palace was erected on the site of the medieval tower. Further, the winding path will lead you to the Dragonstone from the Game of Thrones series. Otherwise, this place is known as San Juan de Gaztelugatche — a small island with the chapel of the same name on it, which can be reached by breaking 237 steps of a winding stone staircase.
San Juan de Gastelugatche is an important stop on the pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostela. Next, we will go to another location where the filming of the sensational series took place — Barrick Beach. At low tide, you can see picturesque rocky bases and larger flyschs growing out of the water off the coast. In season 7, Daenerys travels to Barrick’s Bay to the Targaryen’s ancestral castle, which she left as a child. Our path lies in Bilbao, the most famous city of the Basque Country, which combines the features of a modern metropolis and an ancient European administrative center. The path to Bilbao will pass through Getcho, a suburb of the modern city, once an independent port on the shores of the Bay of Biscay. Getcho and another suburb of Portugalete, located on the other side of the Nervion River, connects the “Flying Bridge”, an engineering marvel of the late 19thcentury, designed by Alberto de Palacios, one of the students of Gustave Eiffel.
