4 of the Best Shopping Malls in Puerto Rico

If you are visiting Puerto Rico, or just need to spruce up your warm-weather wardrobe, Puerto Rico has some great shopping mall choices–the best in the Caribbean. Whether you are looking for designer outlet mall bargains, mainland designer fashions, or just a local Gap store, you can find everything you would want in one of PR’s malls.

How to Dress in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is located in a tropical zone. Regardless what season of the year it is you will need clothing for very warm temperatures year-round. Jackets, sweaters, gloves and scarves are not much use here. In Puerto Rico you’ll find locals, accustomed to the heat, wearing lots of jeans, shorts, yoga pants, form-fitting dresses and loose tees. Sandals and flip-flops are a must.

If you are planning on travel to Puerto Rico in the winter or fall, that’s a great time to take advantage of warm-weather clothing sales. Even though locals aren’t buying, national stores still stock the shelves with sweaters, coats and boots.

For all of your shopping needs, we chose the 4 best shopping malls in Puerto Rico. The malls are located in different zones of the country, so no matter where you are, you will have at least one of them close to you.

Buckle your seat belts because we are going to go SHOPPING!

Plaza Las Americas

A personal favorite and the biggest shopping mall in the Caribbean, the best place to look for anything you may need would definitely be Plaza las Americas. Located next to San Juan’s two main highways this mall has literally more clothes stores under one roof than any other place in Puerto Rico! And its best feature is that it is very easy to find.

Las Américas offers its customers the widest variety of shopping and dining experiences. It has over 300 stores including the only Macy’s in the Caribbean and the largest JC Penney (it has 3 floors). You can also find other popular stores such as Forever 21, Zara, Banana Republic, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Express, Old Navy, among many others.

In addition, the mall also has a Caribbean Cinemas, more than 40 dining alternatives at La Terraza Food Court and ample parking with valet service.

Shopping areas and streets of Istanbul

In Istanbul, you can go shopping not only in the shopping centers and markets mentioned above. There are entire streets and districts where you can arrange an unforgettable shopping experience, plunge into the atmosphere of the Old Town, and stroll through historical places. nine0003

  • Istiklal Caddesi is one of the most popular pedestrian streets. It is always crowded — there are many tourists and strolling locals. It houses cafes, restaurants, confectioneries, shops, shops and Demiroren Istiklal Shopping Center, which presents a large selection of goods from European and Turkish manufacturers.

  • Merter is famous for its excellent quality Turkish clothing. And his business card is denim and evening dresses, for which they certainly come here. The advantage of Merter is lower prices than in other areas, and the disadvantage is the poor knowledge of foreign languages by sellers. nine0016
  • Zeytinburnu is an industrial area with many factories and shops attached to them. Here you can inexpensively update your wardrobe for the autumn-winter season — people come here to buy leather and fur products, bags and accessories. Fans of individual tailoring can contact the factory directly — the desired item will be sewn in just three days.
  • Laleli is a favorite shopping area for Russian-speaking guests of Istanbul. Most of the signs are written in Russian, and the merchants speak it well. • Osmanbey is known for its huge selection of textiles and clothing from popular global brands and Turkish manufacturers. In addition, they sell shoes, toys, electronic goods, souvenirs and much more.

LC Waikiki

The Turkish brand Waikiki is popular in the country and beyond. His stores can be found in almost every shopping center, as well as in the Sultanahmet area, near the Grand Bazaar, next to the Beyazit tram stop on the T1 route.

LC Waikiki offers fashionable and affordable clothing not only for children of all ages, but also for adults.

You can find everything you need for children from birth to 12 years old in Soobe stores. They offer a wide range of products: clothes and shoes, accessories and textiles, baby food and toys, sports equipment and stationery, food and utensils, as well as clothes for pregnant and lactating women, breast care products and baby feeding gadgets. nine0003

The stores of this brand offer a wide range of goods for babies from well-known manufacturers. Here you can buy everything that is necessary for newborns and young children — food, diapers, strollers, cribs, clothes, educational toys, textiles, bath accessories, skin care products and more.

The largest E-bebek stores can be found in both the European and Asian parts of the city.

Sales and seasonal discounts

Sales in Istanbul happen twice a year — from July to September and from mid-January to March. At the beginning of the discount season, prices are reduced by about 30%, and by the end of it they reach 70%. It is worth noting that by the end of the sales, the least popular goods remain, and not all stores offer big discounts. In addition, some brands arrange sales according to their own schedule. Almost at any time of the year in Istanbul you can get to discounted prices.

Every year, in late spring or early summer, Istanbul hosts a large-scale shopping festival that lasts more than a month. During this period, participating stores offer special discounts up to 70% and are open around the clock. In addition, many of the city’s historical sites close two hours later than usual, concerts, fashion shows, theatrical performances, competitions and lotteries are held, and Turkish Airlines introduces a special fare with free baggage allowance up to 50 kg on some international destinations. nine0003
