The itinerary
Day 1
San Juan Puerto Rico
San Juan is the vibrant and historic capital of Puerto Rico, and for cruise passengers, one of the busiest ports in the Caribbean. From ancient fortresses to colourful colonial-era buildings, stunning beaches to legendary nightlife, there’s so much to explore in this city, which is the gateway to the Southern Caribbean for many cruise lines. The colourful buildings and charming boulevards of Old San Juan are a must visit, with ancient forts, beautiful churches, cathedrals, fountains and statues around every corner. Beach lovers are spoilt for choice with the magnificent Condado Beach just a stones throw away from the city centre and the resort-filled Isla Verde with excellent watersport activities available, superb restaurants and exotic white sand beaches.
Day 2
Charlotte Amalie United States Virgin Islands
Charlotte Amalie is on the island of St Thomas and is the capital of the US Virgin Islands. It’s home to one of the most beuaitful harbours in the world and boasts countless picture perfect white sand beaches, in particular Magen’s Bay was named one of the world’s most beautiful beaches by National Geographic, making it a must-visit. The island is littered with colonial-era buildings and don’t miss the chance to visit Blackbeard’s Castle, built in 1679, to see the world’s largest collection of life-sized pirate statues! Head into the mountains inland to witness a jaw-dropping panoramic of the island on a cable car rising almost 500 metres above sea level. After a busy day of sightseeing, you’ll be spoilt for choice for local cuisine – conch fritters, johnnycakes and coconut patties are all local delicacies, perfectly washed down with some a pint of Blackbeard Ale.
Day 3
Basseterre Saint Kitts and Nevis
Mountainous St. Kitts, the first English settlement in the Leeward Islands, crams some stunning scenery into its 65 square miles (168 square km). The fertile, lush island has some fascinating natural and historical attractions: a rain forest replete with waterfalls, thick vines, and secret trails; a central mountain range dominated by the 3,792-foot Mt. Liamuiga, whose crater has long been dormant; and Brimstone Hill, known in the 18th century as the Gibraltar of the West Indies. Cruises to Basseterre will dock in Port Zante in the heart of the city. English with a strong West Indian lilt is spoken here. People are friendly but shy; always ask before you take photographs. Also, be sure to wear wraps or shorts over beach attire when you’re in public places.
Day 4
St. John’s Antigua and Barbuda
With its superb beaches, historical attractions and beautiful coral reefs, Antigua provides a host of diversions. It is said that the island contains 365 beaches, one for every day of the year. Antigua maintains its traditional West Indian character, with gingerbread-house style architecture, calypso music and carnival festivities. St John’s has been the administrative capital since the island’s colonisation in 1632, and has been the seat of government since it gained independence in 1981. From the port you can explore the colourful Redcliffe district, with its restored wooden houses, and Heritage Quay with its shopping mall and craft shops. The city has some fine examples of Colonial architecture, including the twin-towered cathedral, built in 1845 and considered one of the finest church buildings in the Caribbean. Cruise ships dock right in the heart of St John’s and from the pretty Heritage Quay harbour, passengers can walk into the city with ease.

Day 7
Miami, Florida United States of America
Miami is the cruise capital of the world, catering to over 5.5 million cruise passengers every year from most major cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, MSC and more. The city is also one of the world’s most popular holiday spots for tourists in North America and beyond. From its superstar beaches, to its rich multi-cultural heritage, from spa days and shops galore, to world famous cuban restaurants and hedonistic nightlife – Miami is a multicultural city that has something to offer to everyone.
