We didn’t find this to be a super interesting Nature Preserve, but it was well worth the time we spent. I thought it was a nice walk with nice views.

We spent an hour or so kayaking on the reserve and would highly recommend it. We were the only ones in the reserve and it was fantastic! Kayak rental was just $15 for an hour and that was enough time….

La Reserva Natural de Humacao, Efraín Archilla Diez, es el área perfecta para pasar un día de actividades al aire libre rodeado de naturaleza. Es la primera reserva natural eco turística de Puerto Rico. Aquí puedes alquilar kayaks, tienen distintos tamaños y de uno o más pasajeros; el alquiler incluye el salvavidas. Además puedes alquilar bicicletas, tiene variedad dependiendo el tamaño de la persona, tienen bicicletas para dos personas y cargadores para niños; el alquiler incluye el casco de protección. Ofrecen caminatas con guía que explican las maravillas naturales de la reserva. Entre otras actividades que puedes realizar está: pescar, jogging o caminar por la orilla de la playa. Una de las áreas más impresionantes es El Morrillo, un pequeño monte que te permite ver Vieques, Culebra y los molinos de viento “ver video”.

Dentro de las facilidades hay baños, una tienda de “snacks” y café y una tienda de artesanía. El estacionamiento es libre de costo. Tiene una oferta que incluye: 1 hora de kayak, 1 hora de bicicleta, 1 snack y una artesanía por $20 por persona. Consideramos esta oferta muy buena, ya que alquilar kayak por 1 hora en muchos lugares cuesta $20 por persona. Pero si deseas puedes hacer una sola actividad. Están abiertos de miércoles a domingo y días feriados de 9 am a 5 pm.
