The resort looked beautiful when we arrived Christmas night 2021. At check in we were told there was a resort fee of 16% of the daily rate which was about $485. The resort fee allowed us access to the rooftop bar/lounge, MIST now known as KUMO, the rooftop pool, the hotel restaurant downstairs, the gym in the basement, and the beach amenities; lounge chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. KUMO was closed until December 30th, the pool was freezing cold and closed at 8pm, the restaurant downstairs never opened, and the gym was inaccessible due to construction on the property. We did utilize the beach chairs, towels and umbrellas. In my opinion the amount of the resort fee should have been reduced due to the lack of access to the resort amenities. First the elevator, there was a ceiling tile missing the floor was dirty and there was a camera cord hanging. We purchased a city view room and was given room 409. Arriving to the room the floors were unswept, there was sand all around and the phone did not work. The light entering the room flickered on and off all night. Two of the outlets did not work, the bed legs were uneven and the mattress was uncomfortable. The shower did not drain and the shower head leaked. The bathroom window was broken and did not close which allowed the humidity to enter into the room. The «city view» we paid for was a view of the wall of the building next door. Inside the AC unit there was a scent block to make the room smell better but it had mold growing on it. The mold spores were blowing into the room and at that point I had enough. I requested a new room. After 24hours, the housekeeper walking into our room while we were in bed and three visits to the front desk we were given a new room on the 7th floor. It was the same layout but we had a better view. Some of the problems in the first room were present in the second room; sandy floors, uncomfortable bed and non-working outlets and phone. The AC unit in the second room did not have any mold but it also did not work as well as the first room. Upon checking out I was over charged $50 dollars for valet parking. I had a one day rental car, the valet rate was $16 per day. The hotel corrected it but only after my card was charged for the full amount. Last but not least there was ongoing construction happening on the 10th floor which begun around 10am everyday. Overall I would rate my experience at the San Juan water beach club very very poor.

Pros:The location across from the beach is very good

Cons:The hotel is more of a 2 1/2 star hotel. The location is great, the beds are clean and comfortable but the rest of the room is old, tile floor cracks and broken, bathroom small and needs renovation. The hotel restaurant only serves breakfast. The roof bar-lounge serves reasonable bar food. Overall the services is unethusiastic and slow. Again a very good 2 1/2 star hotel not a 4 star

Pros:This place is great. Clean comfortable room with WiFi. The staff is very nice and helpful. There are two restaurants on site — one is on the rooftop with a pool. If you want to journey out for food, there a two bar/restaurants just down the street that are very friendly. The location is not on a main road, so there is no hustle an bustle in front of the hotel. Towels and chairs are supplied on it’s beach front location. I have been here twice and am definitely coming back again.

Pros:The staff made the experience even better! Everyone was super nice, but Dani, the bartender that works the rooftop bar, made me want to plan another trip there. He was super attentive and even brought us drinks while we were lounging by the pool! I never had to repeat what I had ordered with him. I could also see that he remembered what everyone else ordered as wel. So if you wanted a refill, he already knew what your drink of choice was! Super amazing personality!

Pros:Location great. Staff very helpful.

Cons:Mist bar too windy. Hotel looks terrible during day but hides it all at night with darkness and blue lights. Gym is worst I have ever experienced. It is empty of equipment and miniature. Pool is overly small. I have been all over the world and this was the worst value for my money ever. This is truly worth $150 per night max.

Pros:Location is pretty good — right across from the sea, and in the middle of Isla Verde.

Cons:Looks like an poor old building with a little jazzed up lighting to make it «hip» — and charge the extra $$$. For some reason staff seemed bored and unfriendly (in total contrast to other good hotels in SJ — like El Convento, and the Vanderbilt).

San Juan is a very attractive place for tourists. It is full of hotels, museums, historical buildings, restaurants, beaches and shopping centers. San Juan has many attractions such as Old San Juan, Ocean Park, Isla Verde and Condado.
Old San Juan, or Viejo San Juan, is filled with buildings and structures of the 16th-17th centuries and resembles an open-air museum, where buildings of the Spanish colonial era are collected, many of them, primarily the area around Plaza del Cinto- The Centenario are considered to be the best preserved example of this style in the Western Hemisphere. In the northwest of the city stands the fort of Fuerte San Felipe del Moro, considered one of the largest and most perfect in the Caribbean. The northeastern tip of the Old Town is covered by a second fortress — Fuerte San Cristobal. Both fortresses are National Historic Monuments and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the oldest part of the city is the Plaza de San Jose, where many museums and pleasant cafes are concentrated. Other attractions of the Old Town include the Casa Blanca (was built as the residence of Ponce de Leon), the Dominican convent, the residence of the governor of the island — La Fortaleza, Alcalda, or the City Hall, the Casino (not a gaming club at all, but a fashionable palace built in 1917 and recently beautifully restored), San Juan Cathedral and many other places of interest to tourists.
The modern part of San Juan is spread over the «mainland» area of ​​the island adjacent to the Old City. The closest to the historical part of the city is the Condado area, washed from the north by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, and from the south by the large Condado lagoon. Condado is the liveliest part of San Juan with many shops, trendy restaurants and fashionable hotels and casinos.
Just a block from bustling Avenida Ashford stretches a two-mile strip of Condado Beach — the best beach in the capital, although far from the best on the island. There are also many sports facilities, nightclubs and dance schools, as well as the most expensive shops in the city. In the easternmost part of the district, on the border with Santurce, is the affluent residential area of ​​Ocean Park, formed by neighborhoods of villas and waterfront clubs.
