Playita del Condado Beach is an oasis in the heart of Condado. Its hidden just off the east corner of Ashford Ave and Puente Dos Hermanos bridge. A tropical paradise of warm crystalline waters and sparkling golden sands shaded by palm trees and almond trees. This small beach is perfect for kids and family. From the beach, you can enjoy a wonderful view a 500-year-old Fortin (Fort) San Geronimo contrasting with the modernarchitecture of Paseo Caribe at the Plaza Caribe Hilton and the Condado BeachHotel which is only a few blocks away. After lunch you have enough time to drive to Old San Juanand take a walk down the cobbled stone streets of the old city that take you toel Morro fort. A magnificent display of iconic Spanish war architecturebuilt 5 centuries ago and is still standing forever watchful.

The quieter, more compact sister of Condado Beach, Playita del Condado is known for the clarity of its waters. while you can enjoy windsurfing on Condado beach but due to unsafe conditions for swimming out there, Playita (means small in Spanish) Condado beach is the perfect choice for swimming and snorkeling. Be sure to bring along a snorkel mask to discover the vibrant marine life below.
This beach is right at your left side as soon you cross the Puente Dos Hermanos bridge, entering Condado.
The beach is small but certainly makes up for it with its clear, calm, aquamarine waters where one can safely swim and snorkel. The water is calm with shallow spots perfect for small children and adults that just wish to refresh, float, and enjoy an easy swim in the clear turquoise water.
You can rent a Chair for $5 and an umbrella for $15 for the whole day which is till 5 PM, a reasonable price. Like Condado beach, there is no option for a shower or bathroom here as well. Across the road, there are two small food joints offering snacks items and drinks, the most famous one is of course Pina Colada.
Note: there are two beaches, this review is about Playita del Condado. Playa Condado is half a mile away from here, in front of ‘The Loft Beach Front’ restaurant.

Beautiful, Easy-going beach

This is a public beach, but it is also accessible from the Condado Plaza Hilton pool area (and hotel guests receive free beach chairs and an umbrella). The large rocks at the opening of this cove break the large waves, making the water here calm and safer for swimming than other beaches in Condado. When the water is particularly still, snorkeling is possible. The view is gorgeous! Water shoes are recommended as there are a few rock fragments in the sand (plus the sand gets HOT). Towards the street entrance to the beach, there was a vendor set up selling food, bottled drinks, fresh coconut water in the coconut, and pina coladas (with or without rum) in the pineapple; the vendor is cash only and small bills are preferred. We had a great time here and noticed lots of people taking photos in the picturesque scenery.

I love the playita, it is super close to condado beach. The water is so calm and you are able to swim all day/ night. They have a food stand that sells pinchos and beverages. It’s small but a little gem.

We stopped at this beach while visiting the Condado section of San Juan. The beach is rather small but because it is on a bay it tends to be rather placid, no big waves at all. While we were visiting the northern part of the island was experiencing rip currents. This was literally the only place we were able to go in the water. Luckily they had a merchant who provided Beach chairs and umbrellas. Nearby on the sidewalk there was a food vendor who had snacks and refreshments although if you wanted you could bring your own cooler. We loved the place and will definitely visit again.

Take a snorkel with you!

This small beach offers a lot of opportunities for snorkeling. I saw quite a few fish, coral, and sea plants. It is much calmer in the water than in Condado Beach. There are only small waves. It is right by a bridge.

Condado Beach es un area considerada como la modernidad en Puerto Rico y su similitud con algo de Miami Beach: playas y mar de maravilloso tono, hoteles, locales comerciales y muchos bares y restaurantes en su avenida principal que invitan a caminar y disfrutar de la maravillosa vista del mar. Llegamos en un Uber y caminamos tranquilamente para asomarnos a los murallones frente al mar y contemplar este increible espectaculo al romper las olas. Y que mejor que ubicarse en la terraza de algun bar y tomar algo fresco.

Al estar nuestro hotel frente a estas playas, pudimos disfrutarlas con intensidad, tiene un oleaje de moderado a fuerte sobre todo por las tardes, pero es tranquilo y apacible!!!

El atractivo de esta playa es principalmente su locación, en Condado, y paralela a la Av Ashford. Hay zonas con rocas y otras de pura arena, es ventosa y en muchas zonas los edificios y hoteles le imponen gigantescas sombras cuando el sol esta tras los edificios.
Dicho esto, vale la pena porque el mar es limpio y con olas divertidas, hay todos los servicios de comida, poltronas y servicios y al estar en plena ciudad, puedes gozar de la playa y salir por la tarde al viejo San Juan que esta muy cerca, como tambien los malls principales.

Playa en el Viejo San Juan

Playa ubicada en el barrio Condado, dentro del Viejo San Juan, muy cerca de hoteles, discotecas, centro nocturnos y restaurantes. En uno de los barrios mas tradicionales y bohemios de esta Isla, muy cerca de los sitios históricos, por ello la mejor manera de conocerla es caminando, incluso para la playa, la que es bastante concurrida por lo que la recomendación es alojarse en algunos de los hoteles cercanos para poder disfrutar de la mejor manera la playa, por todo esto Condado en uno de los principales destinos turísticos de Puerto Rico.

estábamos hospedados en un hotel de la zona y por su cercanía estuvimos paseando y observando unos pájaros que bien podrían ser Pelícano, nos llamo mucho la atención pues planeaban y entraban en picado a pescar. Nosotros encontramos bastante oleaje y un sector donde las piedras abundan. con marea alta te quedas casi sin arena. Frente al hotel la Concha reinassance es la mejor zona.

Para ser playa de ciudad no esta tan mal

Puerto Rico tiene las mejores playas del mundo, obviamente la de Condado es opacada por las demás de la isla, pero para ser una playa dentro de ciudad no está tan mal. La recomiendo para correr en las mañanas, o pasear en la noche, pero si quieres nadar o disfrutar 100% playa, Puerto Rico tienen decenas de mejores playas que ofrecerte.

Playa sin salir la ciudad

Buena noche playa sin salir de la ciudad. El hotel la concha está en frente, el marriot y está el restaurante Océano que apareció en el food network. También hay sillas de los hoteles vanderbilt y best western.. una sombrilla está en US$10 y con sillas en unos 15. Hay un malecón para tomar buenas fotos y un ben and jerry para algo frío. Al viejo san juan estás a 10 minutos y un taxi te sale en US$10 — 15. Cerca esta el restaurante Orozco de comida típica y bien típico. La zona es segura aunque de noche en baja temporada es muy muy sola.

This is a safe place to swim and watch skydivers on the water. Just a short walk from Condado and no tides! Clear green water and cool atmosphere.

Ocean Park is a great local beach. The waves are a little rougher. This is a gorgeous aquamarine color. There is good parking in front of the house, so finding parking is easy. On certain days of the week, you can find a smoothie and pina colada stand, as well as a hot dog stand.

One of the best BC beaches not so strong. Most of the beaches in San Juan are scary. Lots of rocks and crazy under tow. Swim at your own risk because there are no lifeguards.

The beach was good. It wasn’t annoyingly packed with tourists, but you can tell there weren’t many locals there. Lots of coral reefs, but I don’t mind. You can get empanadas, beer and other goodies served directly to you by the locals. The beer was cold and the empanadas were authentic. There were many dogs on the beach.

Lovely neighborhood!

We stayed at an airbnb in Ocean Park. It was a very nice and safe area with many restaurants within walking distance and an easy drive to Old San Juan.

Loved the beach!!

We had a large group, aged 13 to 65. We ALL loved Ocean Park Beach! It was clean and quiet, affordable and rejuvenating. I already miss it. nine0003

Even though it is a gated community, you can still enter places to go to the beach and many small guesthouses.
