— Almost. I played futsal, which was very popular in my hometown of Ibi, located 30 kilometers from Valencia. It is a small city with a population of about 25 thousand people. — Did you play it?

— Yes, but since there were no prospects for earning good money, I decided to get a sports education at the university. After studying there for 5 years, he entered a football school, where he spent another three years, after which he took his first children’s team. Trained her for 7-8 years. Another 3-4 years he worked in the clubs of the third and second divisions of the championship of Spain. Finally, Zoran Vulich invited me as a physical training coach at Hajduk (Split). It was my first professional club, I worked there for two years. When Vulich became the head of Luch-Energy in 2008, he invited me to work in Vladivostok.

— It’s clear why you ended up in Luch. But why didn’t they leave when Vulich was dismissed? As a rule, his assistants leave with the ex-mentor.

— That’s right. However, my contract was concluded with Luch, and not with Vulich. And not Vulich paid me a salary, but the club. Yes, to be honest, I didn’t want another job. Especially since there were no other options.

There is no miracle, there is agreement and work

— Francisco, with your arrival as head coach, Luch’s game has noticeably changed. Previously, the team suffered, now they are playing. But the players are the same. What is the reason for such a magical transformation?

— When I took over the team two months ago, I talked to every player on the first day. It seemed to me that many people play in the wrong place that they like. Khlebnikov, for example, said that he did not want to play on the right, as he was used to playing on the left. Buli said that he would like to play under strikers, as he played all his life, as he played in the Cameroon national team. Others also expressed their wishes. At the same time, I asked the players what system, in their opinion, the team should play. 90 percent of the players said it should be a 1-4-4-2 system. After that, I began to think about how to build a team game, given all this information.

And so we won the first game, won the second, the third. And the players saw that all the changes and extra efforts bring results. And they began to work more in training. The climate in the team has improved. But this, of course, is not only my merit.

This is the result of the work of coach Konstantin Emelyanov, goalkeeping coach Nikolai Grishin, team leader Andrei Skorochkin, administrators Dmitry Beznyak and Alexei Fishchenko. The work of the club’s leaders, especially the executive director Anatoly Beznyak, is also very important.

It is very important that all salaries up to July, all bonuses for the first round and cup matches were paid on time. Football players think only about football, give all the best on the field. — Paco, did your wife manage to surprise you with some culinary delights?

— Katya cooks borscht and chicken well. He also tries to make paella. But in Vladivostok you will not always find all the necessary products.

— Is paella a Spanish pilaf?

— Yes, it’s Spanish plov, — Katya confirms.

— But not only rice is put in paella, but also many different products, Francisco clarifies. — You can do it with meat, you can do it with seafood. Yes, and rice is different, for example, black. Real paella is only prepared in the Valencia zone. You won’t get real paella in Madrid.

— Will you teach Katya, Francisco, Sonya two languages ​​at once?

— And she already understands both Russian and Spanish, — says Katya. — Today I went to work, and Sonya woke up. Dad says to her in Spanish: «Sonya, let me sleep.» And she understood him and calmed down.

— I want Sonya to speak both Russian and Spanish, Paco says. Everyone in my family speaks four or five languages. I myself know English, Catalan, a little Russian and Croatian well.
