San Juan & Cueva Ventana Cave Tour
We’ll meet at 6:30 am in the Plaza Colón square in San Juan to begin a tour of the Puerto Rican capital’s historic centre. We’ll spend an hour visiting the main tourist attractions in the old town, walking down iconic streets such as Calle Fortaleza and San Sebastían. We’ll also visit the city’s famous pier.
Then we’ll set off for the El Yunque National Forest. When we arrive, we’ll set off on a short hike among waterfalls and tropical trees. We’ll even take a dip in a natural pool!
At 11:30 am we’ll stop at a local restaurant so you can get something to eat. Afterwards, we’ll hop back on the minibus and head to the Cueva Ventana, one of the most famous caves in the country. Views of the Rio Grande de Arecibo river and the valley will take your breath away!
Lastly, we’ll visit a secret beach before returning to the starting point in San Juan for around 6:30 pm.

Easy 15 minute walk to the cave. Incredible view. Learn cultural and ecological history. Travel through an exciting cave to reach the window view. Wildlife is very common.
Take a short and easy guided hike up to and through the cave to this amazing view of the surrounding landscape and the Rio Grande de Puerto Rico, the river that runs below the cave. It is a 15 minute walk to reach the cave, then you will have another 30 minutes to explore the interior. The guide will teach you about the history and ecology of Puerto Rico, and a lot about the area.
After reaching this view you can take the same path back, or you can travel down through to another cave. The time it takes to return is about the same, but you get the experience of going in through one part of the cave and coming out the other.
The cave has lots of fruit bats, and the guides are careful not to bother or disturb them while you are moving through. They will provide lamps, as well.
Arecibo is located about 2 hours west of San Juan and is well worth the trip, with its beautiful caves and a number of scenic beaches.

Hike to Cueva Ventana (The Window Cave)
05/02/16
It was pouring the day that we went but I think that helped add to the cave experience. It also made it so that there were a lot less people joining us so it didn’t seem as touristy as I would imagine it being during peak times. Just watch out for the piles of bat poop and the couple cockroaches that may walk over your feet! Other than that, it was beautiful!

So I’m always a little hesitant to participate in tours but since we really wanted to see the cuevas we did it. Went on Saturday at 10 am and it was surprisingly not busy. By the time we were done many more people had arrived. Our tour guides were funny and nice. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend d.

Explore La Cueva del Indio (Indian Cave)
La Cueva del Indio is one of the most beautiful places on the island of Puerto Rico – there’s nothing quite like witnessing the majesty of a sunset on the cliff, and yet it’s still incredible all day long. It takes about five minutes to walk out onto the cliffs. Two movies were filmed on these cliffs, which you can learn about at the restaurant nearby. The cave is up to the left. You will have to…
Swim at El Ataud
If you’re heading out of Adjuntas, take Route 10 N and make a right onto Route 123 N, follow that until you can make a left onto Route 123 S. Go South on Route 123, then turn right onto Route 522 (follow the signs for Parador Sotomeyer). When you get there, go to the left. The road will make several ‘V’s» but just stay on the main road. At one of the V’s, you’ll notice a bridge to your left. Us…
Gozalandia Falls
Gozalandia Falls, located in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico — on the West side of the island, features a 60ft+ tall waterfall as the main attraction. The area also has an ‘upper-falls’ with another swimming area and rope swing. Both tend to get full on hot summer days, so come early and stay for lunch!
It is $5 to park, usually there are attendants to pay in the parking lot but occasionally you . ..
Cañon San Cristobal
The hike from one end of Cañon San Cristobal to the other is arguably the most epic in Puerto Rico. Descend a thousand feet into a turquoise swimming hole, climb up a waterfall and find yourself in a valley so perfect it doesn’t seem real. Climb up another waterfall, hike about a mile and you’ll come to ‘La Niebla’: the largest waterfall on the island, 300 feet of water cascading down the side …
Surf Marias in Rincon Puerto Rico
Marias is a popular surf spot in Rincon, Puerto Rico. Rincon itself is a beautiful surf town on the west side of the island. The wave is primarily a right hand reef break that works best on north swells. It’s also a great place to catch a sunset!
Hike to Arbol Solitario
About halfway between Cayey and Ponce, you will see a runaway truck ramp on the north side of the highway. The best place to park for this hike is just right on the shoulder of the road (Make sure you aren’t blocking the truck ramp or you risk getting a ticket). Keep in mind if you are coming from the Ponce direction, you need to flip a quick U-turn shortly after you see the ramp to get going i…
