  Great beach! Awesome for kids the water is literally crystal clear and very small waves so great for swimming. The bathrooms were clean and so close to th beach however they did close the bathrooms right at 5 5:30 so try to plan around that. There are outdoor showers accessible even when bathrooms are closed which is very helpful. Also there is good food walking distance and there was a little shop right on the beach with ice , hats and floaties. We payed 4$ for parking. Definitely recommend!

  I was just looking for a different beach that wasn’t in my town or ones I frequent and found this gem!!! Playa de Vega in Vega Baja is wonderful, calm seas, cristal clear, very clean, amenities, umbrella rentals etc. I even saw a lifeguard go out to the water to help out a family with a handicapped person several times and she was always very gracious! It is a great place for families with children. My kids love it, family I’ve taken there also love it. I highly recommend it, if you are visiting the island and are staying in San Juan you are about 45-60 mins away and we’ll worth the drive.

  Beautiful beach. Water was calm, crystal clear and super blue. There are chair and umbrellas available for rent at reasonable prices. Bathrooms and showers are working and clean. Food trucks with tasty treats. I recommend the seafood truck. All in all a great beach to spend the day.

  Beautiful Beautiful beach with Crystal clear waters. Clean showers and rest rooms. Police patrol. Rentals of chairs, umbrellas and canopies. Breathtaking view and friendly atmosphere. Closes at five pm.

Obtain a visa at the Consulate of Spain and go to the country of the best beaches in the world

For a huge number of tourists applying to the Consulate of Spain, holidays in this country are primarily associated with its beaches. Indeed, it is in Spain that you should go in search of the best beaches in Europe and even the world. This year it became known that this country for the 31st year in a row tops the list of countries that have received the largest number of «Blue Flags» — prestigious distinctions that are awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). It is a non-profit organization headquartered in Copenhagen, which currently applies its own procedure for evaluating beaches in 47 countries around the world. The high standards of the Blue Flag award ensure that this rating can be safely trusted by the most demanding tourists. What can you expect from a Spanish beach with such a flag flying over it?
The main criteria that are taken into account when evaluating beaches are the quality of the water, the safety of recreation, the services provided to visitors, environmental protection and information. Spain’s beaches received a record 590 of these flags this year, 11 more than last year and 71 more than nearest competitor Greece. Another 101 flags were received by yacht and boat harbors, and five flags went to cruise ports.
The length of the Spanish coast is about five thousand kilometers. It is not surprising that 17% of the global number of Blue Flags will be installed in this country this year. This means that every sixth Spanish beach has received a high rating. Receiving such an award is the highest goal for every beach, and its presence is proof of compliance with the highest environmental standards.
The Spanish consulate is ready to issue a visa. Where to go to relax on the best Spanish beaches?
Tourists, of course, are interested in which Spanish coast has received the largest number of prestigious flags. The first place here was taken by Valencia, whose coast — the Costa Blanca — received 132 awards this year. The second place is taken by Galicia — 109 flags, followed by Catalonia — 101, the fourth place was taken by Andalusia, where the collection of flags was replenished with seven new ones and reached 97.
At the annual ceremony, which took place in Madrid, FEE representatives presented 25 flags to the picturesque Vega Baja region in the southern part of the Costa Blanca. Tourists who want to relax under the Blue Flag can go to Orihuela Costa, to the beaches of Cabo Cervera (Torrevieja) and Playa Puerto (Pilar de la Horadada). It is noteworthy that even the city beaches of Valencia, in particular Malvarrosa, received flags of cleanliness.
Tourists who decide to relax on the Costa del Sol this year will not be disappointed either. According to the FEE, the best beaches here are Playa Casablanca (Marbella), Arroyo Vaquero (Estepona), Los Alamos (Torremolinos), Playa Ancha (Caceres). Approximately a quarter of Andalusia’s Blue Flags are located on this 160 km stretch of coastline.
Of course, tourists who go to the Balearic and Canary Islands, which received 44 and 50 flags this year, respectively, will not be disappointed either.
Many will be interested to know that even Madrid, which is located 400 kilometers from the coast, received its Blue Flag this year. It is awarded to the Virgen de la Nueva beach, which is located on the banks of the San Juan reservoir. So even tourists who have chosen to visit not one of the most popular coasts, but the Spanish capital, will be able to enjoy their vacation by the water.

Campoamor is a city for a happy life!

Dehesa de Campoamor is a small resort town in the municipality of Orihuela (Vega Baja del Segura, Alicante, Spain) 14 km from Torrevieja.

Campoamor’s main attraction is its magnificent beaches, which in summer are filled with both Spanish tourists (mainly from Murcia, Alicante and Madrid) and foreign tourists (especially from Germany and England).

Beach «de La Glea», also known as La Playa Grande, is one of the largest local beaches. Every year he receives the «Blue Flag» — a sign of the highest quality. In 2010, Playa de La Glea was transformed into an oasis of «palm trees».

La Playa de Barranco Rubio, also known as La Playa Pequeña, is the second largest. And if the Playa de La Glea beach is preferred by many foreigners, then the inhabitants of the kingdom traditionally rest here. The beach is considered quiet and family friendly. In 2010, a playground was installed here and access to the beach was improved.

Campoamor is famous not only for its beaches, but also for the natural park Sierra Escalona y Dehesa de Campoamor. This is a large pine forest where some endangered animal species live. Here you can enjoy walking or cycling.

History of Campoamor.
The history of the town is inextricably linked with the life of the poet Ramón de Campoamor. He became governor of the province of Alicante after he married a girl from a wealthy family, Guillermina O’Gorman, in 1854. The wedding ceremony took place in the Ermita del Fabraquer de San Juan de Alicante chapel.

The writer and philosopher was born on September 24, 1817, in Navia, a small municipality of Asturias. In 1868, during the Republican uprising in Madrid, Ramon took refuge in his native land along with his family. At 1890 year, after the death of his wife, the writer retired and returned to Navia again. During his long life Senor Campoamor published more than 100 works, including Ternezas y flores in 1838 and Doloras in 1846. He was appointed civil governor of the province of Castellón and later governor of the province of Valencia. Subsequently, life led him to the senatorial chair. The poet died in Madrid on February 11, 1901 at the age of 83.

In the 1950s, such famous buildings as «Ronda» and «10 Picos» were built in Campoamor. Here, in a garden overlooking the harbor, there is a monument to Don Antonio Tárraga. He was the main developer and owner of the farm, which marked the beginning of the rapid development of urbanization.

Between the buildings «Támesis» and «10 picos» there is a large play area for children.

But in the building «Miraver» there is an elevator with which you can go down to the beach.
The main architectural projects of that time were realized near the Playa de la Glea beach.

In the 60s and 70s Campoamor is growing more and more. Many high-rise buildings appear, the streets are named after famous Spanish poets. At the same time, the number of vacationers is also growing, the authorities are investing in the equipment of beaches.

At this time, the famous Las Villas complex appears.
In the 80s and 90s, Campoamor becomes a popular tourist destination. Shops, restaurants, bars, sports centers, etc. are opening. The authorities are doing everything possible to create here a paradise for tourists and residents of the region.

Sports and entertainment.
In 1977, the city hosted the Spanish cycling tour «La Vuelta a España». Belgian Freddy Maertens became the winner of the race. The inhabitants of Campoamor are very fond of this sport, so there are enough beautiful places to ride a bike with the breeze.

In recent years, Campoamor has become a real golf center. There are three clubs here: Campo de Golf de Dehesa de Campoamor, Club de Campo y Golf Las Colinas, Campo de Golf de Las Ramblas.
