  The resort of Cancun is located on the Caribbean Sea, known for its warm beautiful water and white fine sand. Most of Cancun’s beaches are public, but there are also private areas that are classified as coastal hotels. This is a wonderful place for a romantic getaway and families with children.

  Beach Delfines

  Cancun’s largest, most beautiful and popular public beach is Playa Delfines. It stretches for almost 30 km in the hotel zone and is considered one of the best in Mexico. Here, the sand is dazzlingly white — fine as powdered sugar, and the water is an amazing azure color. Dolphins come here early in the morning, for which the beach got its name. The most popular local attraction is the Cancun sign, which consists of large colored letters. This is the most famous Instagram photo location and is located on the El Mirador viewpoint, which offers the best view of Playa Delfines.

  The infrastructure is well developed — there are beach umbrellas, toilets and showers (they are open until 17:00), free parking for cars (usually they give only tips for parking assistance). Vacationers should be aware that there are no sunbeds here, they can only be rented on certain sections of the beach. There are many street food vendors on the coast and there are practically no bars, cafes and restaurants — they are located across the road. There is also the archaeological site of the Maya El Rey.

  The waves in Playa Delfines are changeable and lifeguards are only on duty from 09:00 to 18:00. Vacationers are warned about the safety of swimming in the sea with special multi-colored flags: green — there is no danger; yellow — medium danger; red — strong waves, you should refrain from swimming.

  Playa Langosta

  Playa Langosta is the locals’ favorite beach. It is located in the center of the Hotel Zone Beach, next to the entrance to the Casa Maya hotel. This is the best place on the coast for families with children — there are shallow waters, there are no waves and there is a playground. Tourists are fascinated by white, flour-soft sand and beautiful turquoise water. Sun loungers, parasols and chairs can be rented on the beach. There are public toilets, showers, changing cabins, free parking for cars.

  Vacationers should be aware that there are no bars or restaurants in Playa Langosta, but there are street vendors with snacks and drinks. There is a pier on the beach, from where boats depart for Isla Mujeres and excursions to watch dolphins. Vacationers can indulge in playing football, tennis, volleyball and go kayaking.

  Playa Gaviota Azul and Playa Forum (Beach Gaviota Azul, Beach Forum)

  In the heart of the hotel area are two popular, merging public beaches — Gaviota Azul and Forum. They represent a single coastline with white soft sand and beautiful water. The first one is distinguished by the almost complete absence of waves, and on the second, on the contrary, they are often present. These beaches are always crowded and fun. It is comfortable to relax here thanks to the well-developed infrastructure — there are changing cabins, showers, lifeguards are on duty. You can rent sun loungers and parasols in numerous beach clubs. The most famous of them are Mandala Beach Club and Coco Bongo nightclub. High-rise hotels separate the beaches from the road. On the coast there is a supermarket, eateries and restaurants.

  Beach Maroma

  Among the most beautiful and most photographed Mexican beaches is Playa Maroma. It is located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Its coast is famous for its fine ivory sand and clear waters of different shades of azure. There is a small pier on the shore where snow-white yachts moor — here you can go fishing or snorkeling. On the south side of the beach, right off the coast, there is one of the best places for this.

  Playa Maroma has several prestigious all-inclusive hotels. The most exclusive of them is El Dorado Maroma. It is known for its overwater bungalows. Entrance to the beach is available only for hotel guests. However, there are several ways to enjoy your holiday in Playa Maroma:

  Tulum Beach

  Tulum’s cozy beach has its own hotel area — just like in Cancun. However, there are almost no high-rise hotels operating on an all-inclusive basis. At the same time, there are comfortable boutique hotels and many beach clubs that provide access to all amenities. Tulum’s wide beach has good infrastructure. On their territories, there are many cute changing houses, there are open-air eateries and there is everything that is necessary for vacationers. Palm trees swaying in the refreshing breeze serve as decoration of the white sand coast. This is one of the most ideal places on the Riviera Maya to watch the sunset in the evening and sip on a nice drink.

  Playa Norte

  North Beach, located on the nearby Isla Mujeres, is considered one of the best in Cancun. It is famous for its postcard views and great beach clubs with trendy hangouts. It has perfect white sand, almost always serene, azure sea, and there are many resort hotels on the coast.   The picturesque Playacar Beach is located in the resort village on the south side of Playa del Carmen. It attracts with its solitude and virgin beauty. Its coastline is constantly changing due to seasonal trade winds and currents. In some places, it is a wide strip of beach, while in others, the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea are splashing just a few meters from the beach umbrellas. The entire infrastructure on Playacar — sun loungers, sunshades, etc., is the property of cute boutique hotels or vacationers in condominiums. Therefore, when going here, you should take your sun umbrellas and towels, as well as snacks and drinks, since there are no cafes and restaurants.
