It was a very expensive tasting without much substance. Omar the guide was nice enough but real preachy and came across as condescending.

Great time

Great time! JoJo was informative, energetic, and friendly. We were thinking it was going to show us more of the process of rum making, but it was still a great time. We all learned the history or rum and Bacardí and sampled 4 of them. The mojitos are on point! Would definitely do again.

Legacy tour

While we booked directly through the website, I just wanted to leave a review here. It was such a great experience, you have the opportunity to enjoy a free welcome cocktail at the start of your visit before your tour, but we waited to use our token until after, so either or works! Our tour guide Ed was amazing, he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Bacardi and was pretty funny too! When you book, you can mention any special occasions, we came to celebrate a birthday and she was able to get another free welcome cocktail out of it which was pretty great! At the end of the tour you also get to try their own special reserve, which is only sold there.

Super fun

Dec 2022

Our family of 4 had a blast, and our tour guide Alondra was amazing. Upon arriving you got a complimentary drink. We then learned some of the history of the company and tasted a «fancy rum». In the mixology class we made a mojito and the best pina colada I have ever had.

For sure a unique experience. Props again to Alondra, her energy carried the tour, so fun!

Bacardi is proud to support the International Bat Conservation Organization to raise public awareness of the conservation of the species through the Year of the Bat campaign. A 15-second commercial highlighting the many environmental and economic benefits of bats will air on the CBS big screen in Times Square in New York through the end of March. With one of the most recognizable bat logos in the world, Bacardi has believed in the power of bats for over 150 years. nine0003

Bacardi’s bat protection story begins in 1862 when Dona Amalia, the founder’s wife, spotted a colony of carnivorous bats on the rafters of the Bacardi distillery in Cuba. In Spain, where Don Facundo emigrated from and in Cuba, among the Taino Indians, it was believed that bats symbolize good health, family well-being and good luck, so the founder of Bacardi tried to ensure that the mice would continue to remain at the distillery and began to identify them with a new variety of rum . The rum created became known as Ron del Murcielago or «bat rum». And today, the icon with the bat symbol gracefully adorns every bottle of BACARDI rum. The long-term involvement of the Bacardi family in bat research, education and conservation is also reflected in their involvement with the Lubee Bat Conservancy, a non-profit carnivorous bat conservation organization, to conserve biodiversity through the protection of carnivorous bat species and their environment. a habitat. nine0003

150 years of Bacardi heritage

Years later and after numerous experiments, Don Facundo managed to completely change the craft of making strong alcoholic beverages by creating a soft, light spirit, as opposed to the taste of hard «fire water» time. He used technologies never before used in the production of rum. He selected high quality sugarcane molasses, selected a special strain of yeast (still used today) to control fermentation, filtered and softened his rum several times in American white oak barrels, and then blended to create the perfect taste of BACARDI rum. This new blendable spirit helped develop a cocktail party culture that thrives to this day. The skillful Maestro de Ron (blending master) continues to follow the same high quality standards that were the basis for the production of rum by Don Facuno. nine0003

Sitges is a city of museums. Spain in Russian

Located near Barcelona, the small town of Sitges is one of the ten best resorts in the world. Sitges is also one of the most culturally rich places in Catalonia. Here are interesting museums and art galleries, which will be discussed in the article. nine0003

Sitges is characterized by a cosmopolitan spirit: a lot of foreigners live here and even more come to relax, a spirit of loyalty: this city is considered the capital of the gay community, and the beaches and the clear sea make Sitges very attractive for tourists and those wishing to settle here.

Of course, museums are not the first thing that tourists remember when they come to a seaside resort. Not everyone wants to do something serious when there is so much sun around and the beach is nearby. However, the museums of Sitges are to match the city itself, they are conducive to relaxation. For example, the Bacardi Roma Museum, the Museum of Romanticism with a collection of dolls, or the House Museum of a self-taught artist. nine0003

    Cau Ferrat Museum

The home studio of the Post-Impressionist painter, poet, prose writer and playwright Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931) was turned into a museum after his death and opened in 1933. The collection includes ancient art and archaeological finds in wrought iron, ceramics and glass, antique furniture and interiors. The Old Masters are represented by the works of El Greco.

nine0002 An important part of the museum is the collection of contemporary art, painting and sculpture, including works by Rusiñol himself, Picasso and others. Even for those tourists who aspire with all their heart to the beach, and go to museums “for show”, this house makes an unforgettable impression. The building itself, its luxurious stylized antique interiors, together with works of art, are a single original art object.

Entrance to the Cau Ferrat with a visit to the Museu de Maricel costs 10 euros. The house is closed on Mondays, in summer it is open from 10 am to 8 pm, in winter from 10 am to 5 pm. nine0003

    • Address: Carrer de Fonollar, 6, 08870 Sitges.
    • Phone: +34 93 894 03 64.

    Museu de Maricel

This museum, located on the waterfront, houses a collection of works from several historical eras, made in different styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. It houses one of the finest collections of Catalan masters of modernism and contemporary art, as well as perhaps the best view from the windows that museum visitors have ever experienced. nine0003

The museum is open in spring from 10 am to 7 pm, in summer from 10 am to 8 pm, in autumn and winter from 10 am to 5 pm. Entrance together with a visit to Cau Ferrat costs 10 euros.

    • Address: Carrer de Fonollar, s/n, 08870 Sitges.
    • Phone: +34 93 894 03 64.

    Palau de Maricel

Santiago Rusiñol, a well-known media personality of the time, and the modernist festivals of Sitges at the beginning of the last century attracted many artists and artists to the city, giving impetus to the development of Sitges as a cultural capital. Among those attracted was the American collector Charles Dearing (1852–1927), who was fascinated by the style and climate of Sitges and built a palace next to Cau Ferra, which became his home and at the same time a museum.

Deering hired the artist Miquel Utrillo, who worked with Rusiñol in the same artistic direction, to create a masterpiece house. In 1910, Utrillo connected the ruined 14th-century hospital building and several completely renovated fishermen’s houses with a bridge, creating from this modest ensemble an architectural work of art called the Marisel Palace (not to be confused with the Maricel Museum). Here you can see how rich patrons of the past lived, admire the interiors and landscape design and touch the golden age of modernity. nine0003

The rooms and the terrace are available for visiting with a guide, tours are conducted in three languages: at 11 am — in English, at 12 am — in Catalan, at 13 — in Spanish. Entrance costs 5 euros. The palace often hosts closed cultural events, so you need to find out about the possibility of an excursion by phone.

      Museu Romantic

The Museum of Romanticism is located in a neoclassical building built in 1793 and owned by a very famous Sitges family. The building itself, its interiors, unique antiques — all this creates a wonderful atmosphere of complete immersion in the carefree era of romanticism. Adding to the joy is Lola Anglada’s famous collection of antique dolls, which includes lovely porcelain and rag exhibits, the oldest of which was made in the 17th century. nine0003

      • The museum is open from 10 am to 7 pm, in summer from 10 am to 8 pm.
      • Address: Carrer de Sant Gaudenci, 1, 08870 Sitges.
      • Phone: +34 93 894 29 69.

      Casa Bacardi

Maison Bacardi is a permanent exhibition center located in Sitges. The creator of the world famous brand of rum, Facundo Bacardi, was born in this city and emigrated to Santiago de Cuba in 1830, and therefore began to be considered one of the so-called «Americans», thanks to whom the rise of the city began in the century before last. nine0003

The exposition is not located in the house where the entrepreneur was born (this house has not been preserved), but in a beautiful building of the former Mercat Vell store built in 1890. The exhibition halls tell about the history of the brand, about its connection with Sitges, about the relationship of «Americans» with their hometown. At the end of the tour, visitors have the opportunity to prepare a Bacardi rum cocktail according to their own recipe under the guidance of an experienced bartender.

      Fundación Stämpfli

The Foundation was created by the Stumpfli family in cooperation with gallerists from several European countries. It is this international permanent exhibition of contemporary art that is credited with restoring Sitges the title of Capital of Culture. Peter Stumpfly is a well-known artist with over 60 personal exhibitions, for example, his work is exhibited at the Pompidou Center, in European and American galleries. In 2004, Stumpfli was officially recognized as the «adopted son of Sitges» for his contribution to the development of the city. nine0003

The fund contains a collection of works of art from half a century from the 60s of the XX century to the present. After visiting the exhibition, a clear idea of contemporary art of the second half of the last century and the beginning of the present is created. It contains over 90 works by sixty contemporary artists from twenty-two countries. Pop art lips of Marilyn Monroe, a collage using a portrait of Mao Tse Tung, a portrait of a car tire, a sketch on the theme of Buddhism — all this is familiar to the modern viewer and, perhaps, touches the heart even more than the old academic art. nine0003
