Top 5 Things to do at Palomino Island

The El Conquistador Resort, located in Fajardo, Puerto Rico boasts it’s own 100-acre private tropical island oasis called Palomino Island. An 8-minute ferry ride out of the El Conquistador’s Marina will bring you there. Access to Palomino Island is one of the advantages of being a guest at the El Conquistador Resort or Las Casitas Village Resort. For those of you not staying at the resort, a trip to Palomino is still possible, but will require a day pass. And it’s worth it!

1. Relax and Lounge

The island is a paradise of palm trees and lounge chairs lining the white sand beaches, and waiters come around to take your piña colada order.

2. Snorkel the Clear Blue Waters

Coral reefs, seagrass beds, and rocky coast species are among the natural attractions found in Palomino Island and tiny Isla Palominito, the latter being located about 600 meters south of Palomino Island. The waters are very mild and clear and this is an excellent spot for beginner snorkelers.

3. Endless Watersports & Activities

There are an endless number of activities to catch your fancy, from sailing and windsurfing to jetshiing and paddleboating. On land, there is volleyball, miniature golf, a life-size chess board, and all of the beach toys necessary to play in the sand and surf.

4. Horseback Riding

Enjoy a guided horse ride over miles of wilderness trails, from which you will be able to appreciate the beauty of Palomino Island and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

5. Shop & Eat

Dine at the open-air Iguana’s restaurant or get lunch served to you on your lounge chair. There are also several shops on the Island that offer all of the gear needed to enjor your day on the island and to purchase some great souvenirs to commemorate your day on the island.

We were a little hesitant when we found out the 45-50 minute ride would be around $75 per person ($300 for four of us)…it is $35 per person ($140 for four) for just 10-15 min ride along the beach…

No, there is a marine in front, you can take charters or water taxis to the islands, near the beach 5-7 minutes by car. We only provide beach towels.

Spacious apartment in front of Villa Marina in Fajardo with an amazing view towards the Island of Palomino. Also the location is exquisitely culinary thanks to all the restaurants nearby. The area is completely safe for tourists and locals.
There’s attractions like the tropical rain forest of El Yunque, the beach of Seven Seas, the bioluminescent lagoon of Cabezas de San Juan, the beach of Luquillo or taking private boat trips. nine0013

A few years ago I acquired a beautiful property in the south west area of Puerto Rico, which every time I can I still use it to escape the daily routine. In 2017 I remembered a story related to the property that belonged to a former hunter.
