Punta cana public beach: The 10 best beaches in Punta Cana [2022; incl. map]

The 7 best beaches in Punta Cana that you should not miss!

Calm waters, or with many waves? Full of resorts, or more wild? Which are the best beaches in Punta Cana? With more than 40 km of coastline, Punta Cana offers beaches for all tastes and in this article, we are going to have a look at those that for me are the most beautiful and shouldn’t be missed on your trip to the Dominican Republic.

Many people consider that Punta Cana has the best beaches on the island, and it even always appears in the ranking of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Let’s see if that is so!.

¿Qué encontrarás en este artículo?

Top 7 best beaches in Punta Cana you can’t miss!

Unlike what many believe, Punta Cana is not on the waters of the Caribbean Sea, but on the Atlantic Ocean, which is why the beaches tend to be with more waves or windy.

But there are exceptions, so let’s get to know the best beaches in Punta Cana!.

1. Bavaro Beach, the best beach in Punta Cana

Considered one of the best beaches in the world, this is the most famous in Punta Cana. There are plenty of reasons: white like flour sand, thousands of coconut trees, and crystal clear turquoise waters that dazzle.

Playa Bávaro Beach is my favorite beach in Punta Cana and the one that I strongly believe is a must, even if you stay in another area. The part that I like the most and that for me has the best beach, is in the surroundings of the Hotel Barceló Bavaro Palace (by the way, a spectacular hotel in which I stayed during my first trip), for two reasons: there are thousands of coconut trees and as it’s located in a kind of bay, in which the water is much calmer, with little waves. Really enjoyable!.

The typical postcard-like beach!.

2. El Cortecito Beach

After Bavaro Beach, we find El Cortecito. If you are looking for a more local environment, then this is your best option.

It is the fishing area of the village, where there are handicraft markets, restaurants, bars, and cheaper accommodation. Besides, it is easier to access the public beach in Punta Cana from this area.

🚖 Do you need transfers in Punta Cana?

3. Cabeza de Toro Beach (Bull’s Head)

This beach is towards the south of Bávaro, where there is a nature reserve and a lagoon. What I love about this beach is the numerous coconut trees that reach the shore, and the fact that it’s much wilder than most typical beaches in Punta Cana.

The water is calm though usually there is quite a current, and in times of sargassum, it is more likely that you find algae (in that case, perhaps it is better to choose Bayahibe over Punta Cana). Anyway, sargassum cannot be predicted.

4. Juanillo Beach, Cap Cana: an incredible beach in Punta Cana

Juanillo Beach in the Cap Cana area is undoubtedly one of the best beaches in Punta Cana, where you will find the most luxurious accommodation options. It’s extensive and with quite calm waters, as incredible as Playa Bávaro Beach.

The area is truly exclusive. With restaurants, a casino, the Marina, and luxury hotels, such as the spectacular Cap Cana Sanctuary or the Hyatt. The beach is really beautiful and it’s worth visiting. You can either stay there or go for the day (there are regular excursions).

Towards the north of Juanillo Beach, passing the Cap Cana Marina is the “Indigenous Eyes” , an Ecological Reserve, which is very pleasant to visit, since it has natural wells in a spectacular environment.

🌴 Book your tour to Juanillo Beach.

5. Arena Gorda Beach

This wide beach tends to have more waves, which causes the water to be rougher and less transparent (because it removes the sand from the bottom). However, it depends on the time of year you travel, the wind, and so on.

Some of the best-known hotels in Punta Cana are located in Arena Gorda, such as Iberostar, Riu, or Bahía Príncipe, which makes it always very busy.

6. Macao Beach

I only got to know this beach on my second trip to the Dominican Republic, since it is on the outskirts of Punta Cana.

The beach is public, with a lot of waves and very windy, which is ideal for surfers (in fact there is a surf school). Some local restaurants set tables on the sand and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed.

What’s more, the environment is very little crowded compared to other beaches in Punta Cana, with only a few resorts, such as the Dreams Macao (and quite widely spaced, at least for the moment!).

If you like adventure, there are excursions around Macau beach by buggy.

7. Uvero Alto Beach

Towards the north of Macao, we find Uvero Alto, the furthest beach from the airport in Punta Cana and one of the quietest, in terms of the number of people and resorts. Although it’s a few kilometers from Macao, you won’t be able to walk along the beach from one to the other since the mouth of a river is located halfway there.

This is the case of The Sirenis resort in Uvero Alto, an ideal hotel for those traveling with children, as it has an amazing water park.

A beach near Punta Cana

Isla Saona (Saona island)

Isla Saona is not a beach in Punta Cana, but since it’s one of the best beaches in the Dominican Republic, and most of the tourists visit it from here, I decided to include it in this list as a nearby beach.

It is a wonderful island, just like paradise, and one of the outstanding Punta Cana excursions that you should not miss. And of course, don’t forget sunscreen and repellent!

🌴 Book Saona island day trip from Punta Cana.

Best Beaches in Punta Cana

Punta Cana is a grand resort in the Dominican Republic, which is considered the best in the whole country. It is famous for its white, like snow, sand and wonderful tropical coconut palms. But what about the Best Beach in Punta Cana?

Best beaches of Punta Cana often appear on the covers of tourist magazines and in booklets dedicated to the Dominican Republic. In this article, we will try to describe in detail all the beaches of the resort area of Punta Cana.

1. Macao Beach

Macao Beach in Punta Cana

Macao Beach is a public beach located in the province La Altagracia in the east region of the Dominican Republic. It is popular among locals and visitors for its white sands, clear waters and those who seek some adventure since this is a popular destiny for buggy and four wheels riders and surfers. This is one of the only beaches of the Dominican Republic apt for surfing. Macao Beach has a Certificate of Excellence in TripAdvisors and is highly rated by this community. Macao Beach is one of the only beaches in the area not directly surrounded by hotels.

This beach is open to all comers. It’s interesting to note that the lack of hotels on this beach can be regarded as its lack and as an advantage. In any case, there is only a small beach restaurant and a center for water sports. Many believe that on this beach there are the highest waves in the Punta Cana area. It is also the best beach in Punta Cana for a romantic photoshoot.

2. Uvero Alto Beach

Uvero Alto Beach, photo created by Jaime Walker

Uvero Alto is a beach and resort area located at the north end of the tourist town Punta Cana in the province of La Altagracia in the Dominican Republic. A number of all-inclusive resort hotels are built along this beach on the east coast of Hispaniola.

It is a very beautiful, but a little-known beach. However, this beach also can bear the title of the best beach in Punta Cana. Uvero-Alto has yellowish sand and offers a more relaxed atmosphere than other beaches in the region. Outside the hotels beach territory you will find only a few tourists and locals, holidaymakers on the beach. Uvero-Alto is located in the west of the resort zone, then do not be surprised with the presence of high waves here, which are ideal for surfing, but can be dangerous for small children.

3. Bavaro Beach

Bavaro Beach, Punta Cana

Bávaro is a tourist area in Punta Cana, located in La Altagracia province, the easternmost province of the Dominican Republic. Bavaro was developed together with the resort area and tourist region of Punta Cana, as a town for resort workers. As hotels started to rise along the east coast, north from Punta Cana, Bavaro itself became a center of services.

Bavaro Beach is the main tourist beach and the most famous one in the Dominican Republic. This beach is free to enter. Therefore, it is very crowded. This beach offers several kilometers of soft white sand, the amazing feature of which is that it does not heat up in the sun. Therefore, you can walk barefoot in the soft sand and not be afraid of getting your feet burn. The beauty of Bavaro beach is proven by the fact that Oscar de la Renta and Julio Iglesias have houses in the area. Can Bavaro Beach be the best beach in Punta Cana? Certainly!

4. Juanillo Beach

Juanillo Beach, Punta Cana

This beach is ideal for families with children. Juanillo beach is located in the exclusive area of Cap Cana, in a private area with resort hotels, restaurants and a marina. On the beach there is an excellent expensive restaurant. But it costs this money. Palm trees along the beach, great soft sand, not crowded. That’s cool! The best beach in Punta Cana ever!

5. Esmeralda beach

This beach is extremely great. It’s a bit far from Bavaro Punta Cana but we highly recommend to go here and enjoy this insanely great ocean. We think it’s really awesome, isn’t it? The water is so blue, you can’t even imagine. It’s crystal-clear and what’s the most important thing about it?! Nobody is here. It’s almost abandoned. There is some developments nearby but still it’s wild and superb.

We consider that Esmeralda beach is the best beach in Punta Cana! You can stay alone with pristine nature. A perfect secluded place for those who are ready to explore non-touristic places of Punta Cana. It’s a great wild beach for swimming. Just come and just see for yourself!

Punta Cana Beaches

The resort area of Punta Cana is very popular among tourists from all over the world due to its stunning white sand beaches and luxury hotels for every taste and budget. The best beaches of Punta Cana often appear on the covers of travel magazines and in booklets dedicated to the Dominican Republic. In this article, we will tell you about all the beaches of the Punta Cana resort area, which stretches for about 50 km along the east coast of the Dominican Republic. Perhaps our review will help you better understand the features of each beach and choose a hotel to your liking. Let’s say someone likes waves, and someone prefers calm water. Someone wants marine life, and someone would prefer to do without it 🙂 In general, we read, comment, ask questions! Let’s go 🙂

Which sea or ocean in Punta Cana

Do you know which sea or ocean washes the Dominican Republic? Personally, I didn’t know before until I bought a tour to this hotel and looked at the map 🙂 If you haven’t looked at the map yet, I’ll tell you! The Dominican Republic is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean in the north and the Caribbean Sea in the south. Lucky so lucky! Punta Cana belongs to the northern coast, which means that the resort is washed by the Atlantic Ocean. But if you drive a few tens of kilometers south of Punta Cana, you can get to the place of Bayahibe, which is washed by the waters of the Caribbean Sea. Usually it is from the fishing village of Bayahibe that tourist boats sail to the island of Saona.

There is another opinion, and I think it has its place! If you look at the map, you can see that Punta Cana is located on the right side of the island. Halfway between the Caribbean and the Atlantic. And who knows exactly where the ocean ends and the sea begins? And if you compare the color and features of the water, then we can safely assume that the Juanillo beach in Cap Cana is located on the Caribbean Sea. Did I confuse you? Then read on and figure it out 🙂

Uvero Alto Beach

Description of the beaches of the resort area of Punta Cana, we will start with the northernmost beach — Uvero Alto. It is located away from many other beaches in the resort area, but has several good hotels. Uvero Alto has yellowish sand and offers a more relaxed atmosphere than other beaches in the region. Outside the beach areas of the hotels, you can only meet a few tourists and locals relaxing on the shore or walking along the water’s edge.

Uvero Alto is about 45 minutes from the airport. It is not very famous among tourists from Russia. True, the Sirenis hotel located here is one of the most popular hotels among Russians.

There is a pattern in Punta Cana where the waves get higher as you move to the west. Since Uvero Alto is located in the very west of the resort area, you should not be surprised at the presence of high waves here, which are ideal for surfing, but can be dangerous for small children.

Hotels located on Uvero Alto Beach:

Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa — Adults Only
Now Onyx Punta Cana
CHIC by Royalton Resorts Adults Only (adults only)
Zoetry Agua Punta Cana
Le Sivory By PortBlue Boutique — Adults Only (adults only)
Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort Casino & Aquagames (there is a water park, great option for children)
Ocean el Faro Resort
Dreams Punta Cana
Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana Gourmet by Karisma (ideal for kids)

Macau Beach

Macau’s famous beach among surfers! It’s hard not to love him! There are no white sands and luxury hotels. This is a wild, but damn attractive beach. It is definitely worth coming here on one of the days of rest. This can be done as part of excursions from Two Bananas 🙂 or on your own by renting a car or ordering a transfer. Better to come on weekdays. There are a lot of locals here on weekends. But if you want to get a Dominican flavor, come on a Sunday! Definitely get into the party! On the beach there are a couple of cafes and a surf school. Cafes may seem completely unsanitary, but don’t worry! Thousands of stomachs checked! You can even eat it delicious! But do not forget to find out the price of seafood in advance and check the weight of the fish (you can approach the scales with the seller). The calculation for fish or lobsters is by weight. Seafood is served with a side dish — fried bananas or rice. Sometimes they can be generous with a salad 🙂

Macau is located 40 minutes from the airport, close to the Hard Rock Hotel. The length of this beach is approximately 5 km, but most tourists can be seen in its eastern part, next to the rocks. Moreover, locals hang out at the rocks themselves, since the waves there are much smaller. And the surf school is a little further away, where the waves are stronger. Until recently, the beach was considered wild, but now they are going to build a new hotel there. On this occasion, local residents who have a small business on the beach are terribly indignant. They live in the village next door and all their earnings come from the wildness of the Macau beach. Someone sells nuts, someone has a cold beer, someone gives an iguana to take a picture … But soon it will end, to my great regret 🙁 So far there are no hotels on Macau beach, but there are small hostels. They are not located on the coast but next to the village

Arena Gorda Beach

Arena Gorda means «greasy sand» in Spanish. For me personally, this is the most beautiful beach in Punta Cana, where the hotels are located. It is located near the famous Bavaro beach. Like Bavaro Beach, Arena Gorda has soft white sand and tall coconut trees. The westernmost hotel on this beach is the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and the easternmost hotel is Ocean Blue & Sand. The waves near the Hard Rock Hotel are quite high and may seem unsuitable for swimming to some. Personally, I love waves and they don’t bother me. As well as my three year old son. The main thing is not to let the children go alone and follow the safety rules. When the waves are very strong, the security service hangs out a red flag and swimming becomes prohibited. But believe me, there are so many pools and other entertainment in Hard Rock that it is not at all fatal and not even sad!

As I said, Hard Rock is the closest to Macau. And if you move from Hard Rock to Punta Cana airport, you can see that the waves are getting smaller and smaller.

Arena Gorda is one of the widest white sand beaches in the Dominican Republic. At the same time, it is quite clean, which is confirmed by the presence of the Blue Flag. For me, the Arena Gorda is loved because the color of the water is amazing here. Unlike the beaches in Bavaro, the water here is really turquoise. I think that this is due to the lack of a coral reef that stretches along the Bavaro beach, but does not reach the Arena Gorda.

El Cortecito beach

Only a few tourists know about El Cortecito beach, as it is generally accepted that the Arena Gorda beach smoothly merges into Bavaro beach. In fact, between them is El Cortecito. It is divided into two parts: the first part is a hotel area, and the second part is a city beach with bars and souvenir markets. This beach is usually quite crowded. After all, it is located in the very center of Punta Cana and people are constantly walking here, barkers offer excursions, massages and souvenirs. This is also where the locals hang out. But do not think, each hotel has its own piece of the beach and sunbeds. And if the beach is considered accessible to everyone, then only guests of this hotel can occupy sunbeds. If you like to be in the center of the party — you are here. From Cortecito, the easiest way to get into the habitat of the locals, walk to bars, restaurants, shops and nightclubs. Motoconchos (motorbike taxis) ply along Cortecito, which will help save money on transportation. After all, a regular taxi here is not cheap.

El Cortecito is sometimes called «the heart of Bavaro». It is here that foreigners who come to live in Bavaro most often settle. Here they open their business in the form of various tourist services. It is worth noting that El Cortecito beach is subject to erosion, so do not be surprised if you see that in some areas of the beach the ocean washes away shops and restaurants. The color of the water on this beach is greener, there are more algae (in my opinion). But there are objectively fewer waves here than at Arena Gorda.

Hotels located on El Cortecito Beach:

Vik Hotel Arena Blanca

Bavaro Beach

6 The famous Barcelo Hotel is located on the beach of Bavaro.

It has white sand and a calm ocean. True, the water in it sometimes throws algae ashore. But they are carefully cleaned. The presenter of Eagle and Reshka spoke about Bavaro Beach in an issue about the Dominican Republic. He even got into the Barcelo hotel and ate in the dining room 🙂 Well, Two Bananas helped organize the whole thing in accordance with the law 🙂

Bávaro Beach offers several kilometers of soft white sand, the amazing property of which is that it does not heat up in the sun. And you can freely walk barefoot on this sand at any time of the day.

Despite its popularity, Bavaro beach is still untouched, as all hotels take care of its cleanliness and preservation in its original form. For its cleanliness, Bavaro beach was awarded the Blue Flag. In addition, this is one of the safest beaches in the Dominican Republic, as the coastal reef protects it from strong waves. This reef is located close to the shore and is popular with divers and snorkelers.

Bavaro is no longer a simple fishing village like it was 30 years ago. Today it is one of the fastest growing cities in the Dominican Republic, with hospitals, shopping centers, restaurants, banks, pharmacies and other important facilities.

Hotels located on Bavaro Beach:

Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort
Melia Caribe Tropical All Inclusive Beach & Golf Resort
Melia Tropical
Secret Royal Beach Punta Cana
Ifa Villas Bavaro Resort & Spa
Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe
Barceló Bávaro Beach Adults Only

Cabeza de Toro Beach

Beautiful sunrises are the highlight of this beach, which is considered a great place for families with children. There are only a few hotels on Cabeza de Toro, but they are very popular among tourists from Russia. We are talking about hotels Catalonia Bavaro, Bee Liv and Natura Park.

The beach of Cabeza de Toro is known as «the birthplace of the sun», but its name means «Bull’s head» (its shape really resembles a bull’s head). It is located between the beaches of Bavaro and Cabo Engano, the easternmost point of the Dominican Republic.

This beach is quite close to the Punta Cana airport, so you can drive to it in just 10-15 minutes. The beach itself is long and narrow, but has many palm trees near the water’s edge. The water here is quite calm, the entrance to the water is smooth. Many note the green color of the water at certain times of the year. In my opinion, this is where the Caribbean begins. Natura Park Eco Beach Resort & Spa
Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana
Be Live Colletion Punta Cana
Catalonia Royal Bávaro Adults Only
Catalonia Punta Cana
Catalonia Bávaro

Playa Blanca Beach (Punta Cana)

This is not a very large beach in Puna Resorts & Canta complex Club, which offers free entry to all comers. Playa Blanca is a small Caribbean paradise known for its tranquility and beauty, as well as the presence of a coral reef that makes it an ideal place for snorkeling and diving.

Playa Banka is located in the gated community of Punta Cana Resort & Club between Club Med and The Westin Punta Cana, just a couple of minutes drive from the airport.

Although anyone can relax on this beach, as we have said above, it is believed that it belongs to the restaurant of the same name. To get to Playa Blanca, you have to pass through an elegant restaurant. Playa Blanca has umbrellas and sun loungers, which are offered free of charge to restaurant customers.

Juanillo Beach (Cap Cana)

Juanillo Beach is located in the exclusive area of Cap Cana, in a private area with resort hotels, restaurants and a marina.

The only restaurant on the beach, Juanillo Beach Food & Drinks, has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. Here you can enjoy international cuisine or sunbathe on the sun loungers.

Hotels located in Punta Cana or Cap Cana:

Eden Rock Cap Cana
Sanctuary Cap Cana
AlSol Luxury Villas Cap Cana
Tortuga Bay Punta Cana Resort & Club
Arrecifre At Punta Cana Resort & Club
Hacienda
The Westin Punta Cana Resort & Club
Club Med Four Points by Sheraton Punta Cana Village

Sharks in Punta Cana

I don’t know about you, but personally I am very afraid of sharks! And what a blessing that there are no dangerous sharks in Punta Cana. Vegetarian sharks are sometimes found here, for which divers organize a photo hunt. But they don’t meet often. And in the water near the hotel you won’t find them at all during the day with fire! So Punta Cana is heaven in every sense! Choose a hotel and a beach to your liking — and go ahead to rest with us! Well, we will make sure that you have a fun and interesting rest!

Punta Cana and Bavaro beaches — where a human has gone before

of which can be called a work of art. The most popular tourist areas of the country are Bavaro and Punta Cana, which are part of the province of Altagracia.

The Dominican Republic is one of the most famous resorts in the world

In the understanding of tourists and tour operators, Punta Cana is the largest resort area of the Dominican Republic, where most charter flights fly. This is partly true, because the name «Punta Cana» is firmly entrenched in the beach area, located in the southeastern part of the country. In fact, most of the hotels are located in another resort village — Bavaro. All of them are located at a distance of sixty meters from the coastline and harmoniously fit into the beach landscape. It is noteworthy that the hotels do not have fences from the ocean, so tourists can freely walk and swim along the entire coast, because by law the coastline is considered public. However, local security carefully monitors that strangers do not use hotel sunbeds and umbrellas — hotel guests are distinguished by bracelets.

Punta Cana Beach

Punta Cana Beaches — playa blanca

The coastal strip of this resort village is different from the beaches of Bavaro. The sea here is shallow, and the beach strip, about 5 km long, is wider and snow-white. Entry into this zone is possible only through the territory of the elite residential complex Punta Cana Resort & Club, therefore, during the stay, it is required to leave an identity document at the security point. On the beach of Punta Cana, there is a beautiful but rather expensive restaurant — Playa blanca, where you can enjoy the best Caribbean cocktails or seafood dishes.

The beach area of the restaurant has equipped recreation areas — gazebos, sun loungers, podiums and tables. On weekends there is music and parties. The beach is also chosen by kiters — their amazing pirouettes are very interesting to watch even for those who are far from sports hobbies.

Caleton and Juanillo Beaches

Juanillo Beach

Juanillo Beach, recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world, is located on the territory of a closed elite complex — in the «city of millionaires» Cap Cana (Cap Cana), 20 km to the south from the airport. Cap Cana is a huge piece of land with 8 km of beaches, 5 of which are considered the best in the Caribbean. Juanillo attracts with unusually clear turquoise water and a wide strip of dazzling white sand of especially fine «grinding». The white-azure landscape enlivens the greenery of a whole grove of coconut palms framing the beach. In addition to natural beauty, Juanillo has a gentle slope into the water and a clean sandy bottom.

Caleton Beach is also located in the «city of millionaires». Only property owners in Cap Cana have membership in this beach club. Everyone else should purchase a $30 per person ticket. The payment includes staying on the beach for the whole day, using the pool, beach club infrastructure, towel rental, and everything else is for an additional fee. On the beach there is also a SPA center and La Palapa restaurant. It often hosts wedding ceremonies, photo shoots, night and day exclusive events, parties and presentations.

Cabeza de Toro Beach

Cabeza de Toro Beach is located between Punta Cana and Bavaro, not far from the provincial town of the same name. Surprisingly clean, this beautiful beach, or rather its waters, in some places resemble a natural pool. Perhaps that is why it is so popular among tourists. Here you can practice water sports — snorkeling and diving, there is also a kitesurfing school. Local fishermen also trade on the beach, so seafood lovers can always buy a fresh catch. And in the settlement of Cabeza de Toro, you can buy plain paintings by local artists and works by masters of arts and crafts, especially a lot of them at Plaza Artisanal. Pictures of Haitian nuggets do not claim to be masterpieces, but create a special, positive mood due to the brightness of colors and simplicity of plots. Cabeza de Toro, among other 11 beaches in the Dominican Republic, has the Blue Flag quality mark.

Playa Bavaro Beach

Bavaro Beach

This beach, which bears the same name as the village where it is located, is located 25 km north of Punta Cana Airport. Its main feature is the presence of a coral reef, located 800 meters from the coast and protecting the water from cold currents, strong waves and unwanted marine life. The entire three-kilometer length of the beach line is accompanied by a magnificent grove of slender tropical palm trees. And if you add to this snow-white sand, vast expanses of the sea and crystal clear water, you get a real piece of paradise.

Bavaro’s coral sand tends not to heat up in the sun, so even on the hottest day you can safely lie on it, bathing in the gentle embrace of the Caribbean rays. Fans of outdoor activities are offered a variety of water activities: you can go diving and sailing, go water skiing, jet skis and boats, paragliding or banana boats. Along the entire coast there are many cafes, bars and, of course, a large number of excellent hotels.

El Cortecito and Playa Los Corales beaches

El Cortecito and Los Corales beaches are public beaches located in the heart of Bavaro. Although they are often considered one entity due to the lack of a clear territorial boundary, there is still a slight difference. Both beaches are «owners» of dazzling white sand, clear water and enticing Caribbean landscapes. For fans of outdoor activities, there are all conditions for windsurfing and kiteboarding.

But El Cortecito is, first of all, fish restaurants (due to the close location of the fishing village), such as Captain Cook, and souvenir shops. But Los Corales, with many beach residences, is traditionally considered a place of fashionable youth «hanging out», not only at night, but also during the day. For example, in the Huracan cafe during the day you will be served a wonderful lunch and refreshing cocktails accompanied by high-quality chill-out music, and at night the institution turns into a disco where famous local and international DJs play. Both Los Corales and El Cortecito have the Blue Flag international quality certificate as they meet international standards for the purity of water and sand.

Playa de Arena Blanca Beach

Dominican Kitesurfing

Arena Blanca Beach is a 5-minute drive from the Plaza Bavaro shopping center and 30 minutes from the airport. This is a place with soft white sand, washed by the azure waters of the ocean, surrounded by palm groves. In addition to the charming scenery, the beach offers a range of activities such as banana and catamaran rides, as well as surf and kite surf schools for those who want to learn how to ride professionally. On weekends, the beach is fun: DJs play music and animators do their best.

Playa Arena Gorda Beach

Arena Gorda Beach is located 1.6 km from the village of El Macao and just north of Bavaro Beach. It is a wide strip of delicate pearly white sand, washed by the azure waters of the ocean on one side, and framed by a palm grove on the other. The beach has sun loungers and tables with umbrellas, here you can rent water sports equipment, go diving and snorkeling.

It is worth considering that on this beach you can encounter quite large waves and wind, especially in winter. There is a rescue service, but there are no sanitary zones, which should be taken into account by tourists with children. The hotels are quite far from the beach, there are no restaurants nearby where one could have a bite to eat, so it is recommended to take food with you.
