City beaches of Barcelona and their features
There are six beautiful beaches along the coast of Barcelona, each of which has its own characteristics.

City beaches of Barcelona: description
So, in Barcelona there are the following beaches that you can visit without leaving the city:
Barceloneta is the most popular beach in the city. The beach area is separated from residential streets and quarters by a city park. If something here does not suit the tourist, you can move to the neighboring beach.
Mar Bella. This beach appeared in 1992, it is about 42 meters wide and about half a kilometer long. This beach has two features. Firstly, there is a sports center, so Mar Bella is the perfect place for water sports. Secondly, Mar Bell has an area specially designated for a nudist beach. In addition, representatives of sexual minorities like to relax here.
The sports center is called Base Nautica and is located in the western part of the beach area. Of the services, it is worth noting the rental of catamarans, surfboards and kayaks, as well as the fact that you can sign up for windsurfing courses with a private teacher.
You can also take advantage of the services offered by the Vinas Drive center and, for example, go on a yacht trip, a small sea cruise, or scuba diving under the supervision of an experienced instructor.
Also near the beach there are special places where you can rent bicycles and ride along the promenade or along the mountain paths.
And left-luggage offices, which are in abundance at Mar Bella, will allow you not to think about where to put things.
By the way, an interesting feature — in the high season on the beach there is a special library, and magazines and books are given out there completely free of charge.
Rich man. Quite a popular free beach. It is fenced off from neighboring territories by stone breakwaters. There are many cafes and bars where music of different styles is constantly played.
This beach is considered one of the safest and is extremely popular with kitesurfers. The length of the beach is about 650 meters and along the entire territory there is a bicycle path, along which rollerbladers also enjoy riding. Bicycles can be rented at any Bising pick-up point.
If you need somewhere to leave your clothes and personal belongings, you can use the services of a left-luggage office. Also on the beach there is a playground where children can play with pleasure in the sandboxes, ride the rides and swings.
Adult vacationers can play beach volleyball with pleasure, as well as warm up while playing table tennis.
For lovers of the sea and waves, Bogatell can offer experienced instructors to teach windsurfing or kiting.
La Nova Mar Bella is the most remote beach and is preferred by women.
It appeared in 1992 after the Barcelona embankment was reconstructed for the Olympics. The beach stretches its possessions from the south of Llevant beach to the very breakwater of Bac de Roda. The beach itself is very calm and safe, because it is visited mainly by locals from the San Marti area.
The beach is 500 meters long and 45 meters wide. There is everything you need for lovers of beach games, as well as a convenient bike path for fans of bicycles and roller skates.
Nova Ikaria beach. This is a calm, quiet and very clean beach, bordering the Olympic Port. Not far from the beach there is a cozy platform with stone benches — it is very pleasant to sit there in the shade and contemplate the stretched sea distances and sunsets.
The beach is about 400 meters long and about 60 wide, and this is what makes it a very ideal place for sporting events.
All restaurants and bars are located right on the beach area, so you can have a drink and a snack without going far from the place of rest. Across the road, closer to the city, there is a wonderful restaurant called Chiringuito las Sardinitas, which serves great Spanish appetizers, grilled sardines and seafood.
Also very close is the restaurant «La Fonda del Port Olympique», famous for its delicious paella and other Catalan dishes.
From June to mid-September, special volunteers work on the beach to help people with disabilities. There is a special place for them on this beach, where all the necessary conditions are created.
San Sebastian. This beach is mostly visited by locals, although it is also well equipped for relaxation. San Sebastia has the closest location to the city center. The water here is very clear and there are no jellyfish.
Nova Ikaria — the quietest place on the city coast. Pensioners and families with children prefer to relax here.
The beach is well equipped and has all the necessary services.
When relaxing in Barcelona, you should choose a beach that suits not only the location, but also the nature of the holiday for each specific visitor.
