Relaxed and chill local public beach park

This is my go-to beach when I come back home since is close to mami’s house. This is a no frills type of public beach, so if you are looking for crystal clear waters or beach-side service, this ain’t it. But it is a great day trip. Pack a cooler with ice and Medallas or get some piña coladas at the kiosk if open (great Argentinian empanadas too!). They are currently renovating the infrastructure and spent six months closed, but they partially reopened late in ‘22 (though you have to drive in through the exit lane, which is… what it is). Bathrooms and showers are not operational as of 1/23, and they should upkeep with the trash dragged by the tides more often. Take a walk by the beach towards the forested island to see some native fauna like jueyes, iguanas, and cobitos. The ocean-side end has some beautiful sights. This balneario has a lot of potential, especially if they expand access to the forested areas and do some eco-tourism. I’m looking forward to the full reopening!!

Very relaxing beach

Very nice relaxing beach. It wasn’t crowded and the current is calm so you can easily swim or just stand in the water. We rented some chairs and an umbrella for $20 and it costed $4 to get into the park so that’s not bad. It wasn’t crowded so you can roam freely. It’s also a basketball court for any travelers who want to stay away from the beach.

Great Beach!

Very Nice Beach! Only 5$. The only thing that i don’t like here is that there isn’t bathrooms. But overall i definitely recommend this beach for those who live near.

HORRIBLE — FULL of Trash Beach

The Hotel we booked had to empty the pool due to a leak so we decided to go to the beach across the street which was a very busy highway. Not a good day! We never made it to the water, too unsafe. The Beach was FULL of trash. All kinds of trash. Tons of broken glass, a few different shoes, deflated balls, part of a recliner chair, normal paper trash, bottles, cans, scrap metal….just disgusting and not safe at all. Google maps of this beach were very deceiving. It looked like a dump in real life!!!

Beautiful mostly clear water very warm about 82 degrees F. Kayak and paddle board rentals. Also chairs and umbrellas. No food vendors. Bring your own cooler with snacks. Familiar place with people playing dominoes and gathering with their relatives. Sea turtles swim by. They are endangered and protected species. For $5.50 per car you can enjoy this white sand beach. Lifeguard on duty on the weekends and weekdays during summer season.

Not a good beach for turists, use to be a paradise beach, not anymore.

Well this beach use to belong to the U.S.Navy, after an urbanization was built nearby, they fled do to the contamination of this urbanization, it mess the waters of this beach, not safe for tourist or lesser for kids. This used to be a paradise in the 60’s not anymore, waters where clear and clean not anymore, poor security.

Nice and relaxing.

This beach is very nice to relax because is uncrowded, you dont get to see people bothering with loud music. You pay $5 to enter the parking lot and you can bring anything you want. There is no place to get drinks or food so make sure to bring your own. Nice clean water as well.

Beach time

A nice beach to visit, but then again what beach in Puerto Rico isn’t nice. The water is wonderful. Clear and warm, really pleasant. This beach unfortunately doesn’t have any barbecue areas and the parking lot is not paved and a bit difficult to travel and park in. The beach/park does not have anything else for kids to do. Also if you are looking for a bite to eat or have a drink there is no place to do so next to the beach. This is my second time there and I would probably visit again but I prefer other areas so it is not n the top of my list.

Beautiful and clean

This is my childhood beach. A while ago it had the reputation of being dirty but now it’s the opposite. In general, the beach is very clean and the water is crystal clear. I would venture to say that it has become one of the best beaches on the island.
