Fish day: where to try poke, fish steaks and sashimi pizza in Ufa

What Where Is

Fried or steamed fish are traditional Russian dishes. But if these two options have already become boring, we tell you where to try unusual fish dishes in Ufa: Nicoise salad, gyoza with salmon, Hawaiian poke and many others.

Escabeche: warm mackerel, cucumber sauce, jalapeno, mayonnaise

Grilled salmon with quinoa, pickled peppers and mashed celery.

Restaurant and bar Gastro Gallery is a multi-format project in the center of Ufa, which will be appreciated by lovers of modern cuisine and dishes from all over the world. Chefs develop original recipes and unusual servings. For example, they serve pike-perch steak in a creamy spinach sauce with vongole shells and white beans. Here you can also try fish soup made from zander and salmon with couscous.

Tuna poke

Crab cake with green risotto and lemon aioli

Signature salads, a variety of meats and poultry, and a fish menu are on offer. We advise you not to pass by poke – this is the name of a traditional dish of Hawaiian cuisine. It looks like a salad of raw fish, diced and marinated in soy sauce. Poke in Marco Polo is made from tuna or salmon with the addition of onions, sesame, wasabi, hot peppers and nuts.

Dorado fillet on potatoes with spinach, with a sauce based on olives and black olives

Cream soup with scallops, smoked salmon and truffle oil

Olivio is positioned as a Mediterranean restaurant with its own production of cheeses and salami, many types of pasta, pastries and desserts. And on its menu, of course, there are seafood dishes. The menu includes trout fillets with cream sauce, Mediterranean turbot fillets, a set of Argentine shrimp, squid and vegetables. And for gourmets they cook monkfish, and a very rare fish that lives in the depths.

Tuna Niçoise

The menu of this establishment includes many light and low-fat fish dishes. For example, the Nicoise salad with tuna cooked using the tataki method. The fish is lightly fried, marinated and only then cut into thin pieces like sashimi. At Vysote22, this salad is served with a poached egg and arugula. Lightly salted salmon with guacamole is also served here, and as a decisive dish, we recommend pike perch fillet with mashed potatoes.

Salmon ceviche with daikon and nori

Salmon fillet on potatoes

Peru is the birthplace of ceviche. This is a finely chopped raw fish, which is pre-soaked in citric acid and served with a variety of garnishes. The 033 karaoke bar offers two types of ceviche: salmon with daikon and tuna with shiitake. Both are served with ponzu sauce. In addition, you can order poke with smoked eel or salmon.

Salmon carpaccio with truffle ponzu

Sea bream fillet with white wine sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables

Excellent white wine is not only served with bruschetta with salmon or king crab and tuna tartare, but also offers a separate menu of dishes from fresh fish. It features items such as sea bream fillet with white wine sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables, ahi poke with salmon and tuna, avocado, seaweed and chuka seaweed.

Sashimi

Unagi Shiru soup with eel, glass noodles, mushrooms and egg

Japanese cuisine surpasses the cuisine of any other country in terms of the number of fish dishes on the menu. And in Tanuki there is a very wide selection of unusual Japanese dishes. Here you can try, for example, Japanese pizza “Ringu syake” or “Ringu unagi”. These are spicy pizzas made on hard wheat dough, in the first case with salmon and oranges, with guacamole sauce, and in the second case with truffle oil, eel and unagi sauce. And in the appetizers section, there is an assortment of sashimi – chilled slices of raw yellowtail, salmon, tuna and shrimp are served on a plate full of crushed ice.

Tataki salmon roll

Cod fillet with tobiko sauce

Another Japanese restaurant in our selection also offers fish rolls, sashimi, and fish steaks. We especially recommend trying salmon fillet fried in teriyaki sauce. The fish is sweet and very soft. The steak is served with a mix of lard and rice with vegetables. The menu also includes Japanese gedza dumplings steamed in sake and stuffed with salmon.

Return to the roots in the hope of permanence

There are some questions about the kitchen.

“Returning from distant wanderings…”, I rushed to the cult address for myself, where I spent a lot of time in the first years of the 21st century, after wandering around the evening-night Petersburg in search of dashing sequels. Recently, local restaurants have not been particularly pleased, having slipped into routine reality, but what I have seen now gives a chance to correct the state of dull routine.

Space-planning solutions have not changed, the functionality of the premises is easily recognizable. The first democratic floor of a cafe with a separate menu is deserted, but on the second – more pretentious – there are plenty of people for the middle of the working day, apparently beckoning a well-known restaurant surname, the establishments from the representative of which are aptly named by one of the visitors of Grecco as “Children’s Ginza”. Probably, under other conditions, the excitement would have been less impressive. There was a slight confusion when getting acquainted with the situation, but in my case, after the first glass of cool white, it disappeared, as the head instantly fell into its rightful place.

The menu is tricky – many sections, the meaning of which is not always clear. Classes, subcategories, points, paragraphs… The cost of dishes has increased by about 10-15% compared to those presented at Restoclub, although exactly a week has passed. I wanted to try a lot of things, but within the framework of one, even a paired visit, this is impossible, all the more so because of all these countless subsections, they themselves did not notice and missed something.

The character of a waitress is very unusual. A sort of symbiosis of exceptional mannerisms with the harsh style of the Night Snipers admirers. In some places the over-the-top level of pathos was inappropriate, but overall the service was professional and sometimes even sweet.

Dorado ceviche with tomatoes and avocado. The fish is fresh, fleshy, goes flying, especially in company with Chardonnay. I’m not sure about avocados, however, we will consider this message a value judgment. The fruit seemed a little immature to me – rough for such a delicate fish.
Cipriani salad with chicken and mustard sauce. A reference to “Caesar” in honor of the Italian restaurateur who once came up with the classic carpaccio. A serious bowl with the most tender sous-vide chicken, juicy tomato rounds, leaves, egg yolk crumbs and mustard dressing going all the way to the bottom from the very top, and vice versa. In principle, there are no complaints about the taste of the sauce as such, but its prohibitive amount is very embarrassing, coupled with unsuccessfully cut large flowing tomato slices, which gives the salad the consistency of a universal-scale slurry. The proposal from the young lady to immediately help to mix, as is customary here, was immediately rejected (after all, no one canceled the pictures!), But then, in fact, the taste of professional kneading may have appeared differently. And so I ate the fatty leftovers with a tablespoon.

Spanish oxtail ramen with egg noodles. Plus a whole chicken egg “in a bag”. No questions. Spanish is so Spanish.
Spaghetti with vongole and bottarga. The frying pan is somewhat arched, and therefore it jumps awkwardly on the table like a young horse – you have to catch the vessel. Salinity, due to the presence of dried tuna caviar, should be on the verge, but the verge is not felt – just good, good salt. Of course, the one who eats first will be lucky – I got the cooled half.

Octopus with romesco sauce and baked potatoes. I don’t know about the canonical tomato-based sauce, but here I saw something pumpkin. Flat dish. Potato – “vanilla”. All this in pink dots.
Josper blood sausage with romesco sauce and applesauce.
