Flamenco Beach (Playa Flamenco) – What To Know BEFORE You Go
- Overview
- Tours & Tickets
The Basics
Beach bums can spend a day at Flamenco Beach sinking their toes into sugar-like sand and splashing in the waves, taking breaks to order smoothies or piña coladas from waterfront food stands. Those looking for more adventure can rent snorkel gear to explore Flamenco’s highly regarded coral reefs and observe underwater creatures such as parrot fish and sea turtles. High-speed catamaran cruises run from Fajardo, Isla Verde, and San Juan, often stopping at nearby Culebrita Beach, Playa Tortuga, or the other La Cordillera Islands. Guided tours make it easy to access the gear needed for a good time, while ensuring access to Culebra’s picture-perfect sights.

Full-Day Culebra and Flamenco Beach Snorkel Tour from San Juan
Flamenco Beach was astonishing to see and the snorkling afterwards was great, too. The lunch was a bit light though, and some time (10 min perhaps) on the boat after lunch to just enjoy a drink or two would have been nice; felt a bit rushed at times. Even though we really enjoyed this experience and the whole day the price was a bit too expensive, unfortunately.

I loved it all!! Worth every single penny spent! The staff was very accommodating and courteous and took care of everything. Did not like the lunch sandwiches because I am a vegetarian, looked like chicken to me though but rest was perfect. Snorkeling was life changing experience for me! Must try and I’ll book again!

Full-Day Culebra and Flamenco Beach Snorkel Tour from San Juan
The beach time is short but we went for the snorkeling and saw turtles and stingray at the second location. This was by far the best beach we went to on our whole trip. The snorkeling there had beautiful fish. Don’t miss out on snorkeling the reef because the second spot isn’t at the reef and you will miss the beautiful fish if you don’t go at the beach spot. The swim to the beach is fun and easy.

The beach portion and snorkeling is fantastic. The only negative thing to say is the boat ride is extremely long over 3 hours on the boat to and from starting point.

Full-Day Culebra and Flamenco Beach Snorkel Tour from San Juan
The trip was an awesome experience, the guides were fun and very friendly. My only complaint would be not having scuba masks to accommodate people who wear glasses. Other then that it was amazing seeing the sea turtles, sting rays, fish and even got a peek at a manatee!

When to Get There
Flamenco Beach is busiest in winter and spring, when it’s best to visit on a weekday or arrive early to avoid crowds. The Caribbean waters are warm year-round, and although low season visitors can enjoy fewer crowds and cheaper prices, visiting during hurricane season (June through November) means boats might be canceled due to weather.

Beach Brigade
The US Navy used Flamenco Beach as a practice ground from just before World War II until the 1970s. A pair of old US army tanks remain, abandoned on the northern edge of the beach. A reminder of Puerto Rico’s military past, the rusted tanks have become something of a local landmark, spruced up with colorful graffiti, most notably a swirling green and yellow design painted by local artist Jorge Acevedo.

Real estate in Playa Flamenco
Spain is valued not only for its historical sights, but also for the warmest and most beautiful beaches, so here you can meet the largest number of tourists from the Nordic countries.
Playa Flamenca Spain : advantages and attractions
The most beautiful city of all the coastal resorts in Spain is located south of the rather crowded town of Torrevieja on the coast called Orihuela Costa. Playa Flamenca Spain is bordered by Punta Prima to the north and La Zenia to the south.
The development of the Playa Flamenca area as a resort began in 1970, turning from a deserted stretch of coastline into the most modern resort that attracts tourists and vacationers from all over the world. The beaches of the area are marked for cleanliness with the European Blue Flag.
Playa Flamenca is endowed with a convenient transport interchange: the area is located 60 km from Alicante airport (35 minutes by car). Any other resort or town of the Costa Blanca can be reached just as quickly – in a few minutes by car or bus. For example, the beaches of Orihuela from Torrevieja can be reached by car in just 10 minutes.
The city of Orihuela has only 80 thousand inhabitants, while it is considered the cultural capital of the province of Alicante. Playa Flamenca (Playa Flamenca) – one of the most popular areas of the town of Orihuela Costa, the area of the city consists of the same type of buildings and is very popular not only for recreation, but also for permanent residence.
The weather in the area of the most famous beach in Orihuela is hot and dry in summer, the rains do not indulge holidaymakers.
The beach or swimming season of this area begins in June and ends in October, the average sea water temperature during this period does not fall below +22 degrees, and the air temperature does not fall below +30 degrees even at night.
On the beach you can relax both actively and passively (riding jet skis, yachts, water skiing; going to cinemas; relaxing on the beach by the sea; visiting spas, solariums).
Tourists are attracted by the Playa Flamenca area, with its high level of service, an abundance of restaurants and cozy cafes, as well as developed infrastructure. The area has all the infrastructure necessary for life: several banks and supermarkets, schools and kindergartens, a hospital, a post office, nearby golf courses, a huge sports complex, and yacht clubs on the coast.
In the old quarters of the city of Orihuela, medieval buildings in the Baroque style have been preserved in excellent condition, churches of the XIV-XVII centuries, the ruins of a castle built by the Moors have survived to this day.
Real estate in Playa Flamenca
Playa Flamenca is the most attractive place to buy real estate in that it is easy to get to different settlements in Spain – Alicante, Murcia and any Mediterranean beach in the country from this area.
