  Beach is nice, they had a machine cleaning the beach of debris, seaweed, trash etc but only seemed to focus on area in front of life guard tower. Water is clear, we experienced strong currents decent waves. Their were two food vendor trucks that also had alcohol and beach chair rental.

  Ranked as one of the top beaches in the world, Flamenco is a postcard-perfect stretch of white sand and turquoise waters.
  First thing first – reaching there is a pain – means
  a) Rent a car- 50 KM- 60-70 Mins ride
  b) Reach Ceiba -would suggest booking ferry tickets in advance (gets sold out quickly, especially on Weekends) 50 Minutes Ferry ride to Culebra Island
  c) $5 shuttle to Flamenco beach, as its a popular beach, you will get a shared taxi outside the terminal
  It takes app 4-5 hrs and then you will reach there but trust me, that beach is worth it. The moment we saw this, we were like – “wowwwwwww”
  The horseshoe-shaped silver beach is indeed picture-postcard pretty, but it can get crowded on the weekends. We went there on Tuesday so there was not much rush.
  It does have amenities though: the only beach on Culebra that does.
  Beach is practically wave-less, which makes it ideal for snorkeling, swimming, unwinding, playing in the sand, or simply beach-bumming.
  If you were to spend the entire day at Flamenco, you’ll observe a spectacular show of color changes on the water, ranging from clear like glass, soft baby blue to turquoise to deep emerald green. We hit it at 2 PM, with amazing colors. also what amazed me- it’s sand. The sand of Flamenco is light, white, soft, very fine, unlike Escambron-Condado beach. perfectly landscaped shore with green rolling hills as the backdrop, lush tropical plants providing shade to visitors
  While you’re there, don’t miss your chance to bump into Flamenco’s most iconic attraction, The Tank, which is a reminder of the US Navy’s occupancy of Culebra.
  Food & Drink: there are 2 food trucks near to beach offering local food and drinks.
  How to reach there by Car-
  If you are planning to Visit Playa Flamenco and come back to San Juan then I would suggest taking route 3while going and Route 187 while coming back. a couple of reasons for this-
  1) Take Route-3. You wanna save money on toll skipping Route-66 (no sense paying rental company for its transponder and $10/day)
  2) while coming back to San Juan, take Route 3 & 187. Its Scenic route
  3) On Route-187 – Pinones area which is famous for its street/roadside small/decent food joint – you don’t wanna miss if you are a foodie
  or 20-minute flight

  Words nor pictures can do this beach justice. Water is so beautiful, calm, and clear. Sand is amazingly soft and white. Cliffs and hills surround you on all sides. Simply breathtaking. We flew over from Ceiba and the aerial view was surreal as well. Come early in the day when its not busy. There are excellent reefs all the way to the right by the old pier that are easy snorkeling, we saw a countless number of different fish. Put this place on your bucket list. Truly amazing day and a half!!

Playa Flamenco

Playa Flamenco is a seaside resort on the Island of Culebra, in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Flamenco is located on the north coast of Culebra. The beach stretches for a mile around a sheltered, horseshoe-shaped bay. The beach is bordered by the Culebra National Wildlife Refuge, which is itself one of the oldest wildlife reserves within the United States Fish and Wildlife Service unit. In front of the flamenco coast, approximately a quarter of a mile, is a stumbling block. The main characteristics of flamenco is the white sand of its beaches.Playa Flamenco is not only the best beach in Culebra, but it is also generally considered the best in Puerto Rico, and quite possibly in the entire Caribbean. In fact, some discerning travel writers have suggested that it ranks in the top ten in the world.

Playa Zoni

Located on the northeast coast of Culebra, visiting Zoni Beach will be one of the most incredible beach experiences you will have in Culebra. Zoni is as beautiful as the famous Flamenco Beach due to its indistinguishable white sands and crystal clear waters. However, unlike Flamenco, but like all other beaches in Culebra, Zoni does not offer any services, such as bathrooms, parking, kiosks, etc. It is much less populated than Flamenco, therefore it is considered a quieter environment. The waters of Zoni are deep and some waves should be expected, especially during winter. But don’t let that put you off, Zoni Beach offers different beach activities for each visitor; There is a large open area for sunbathing, playing beach volleyball, soccer or tennis, among others. If visiting between April and June, don’t forget to keep an eye out for turtle nesting sites! Although, of course, do not walk on them or play with them. Overall, Zoni Beach is an obvious alternative for people who want to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing day at the beach.

Playa Carlos Rosario

This remote and thin white sand beach has one of the best snorkeling areas in Puerto Rico thanks to a barrier reef that almost encloses the waters of the beach; You can snorkel either side by swimming through the boat channel (look for the floating white marker) on the right side of the beach. But be careful: local water taxis and motorboats ply this canal, and swimmers have been beaten. To get to the beach, follow a path through an opening in a wire fence on the west side of the river. parking in Playa Flamenco. A 15 minute walk up the hill brings you to a small beach. Continue north from here, crossing the narrow peninsula, and heading towards the sandy basin and shade trees of Playa Carlos Rosario.For some truly spectacular snorkeling, continue your way north along the beach for about half a kilometer to a snorkeling site called Wall, which features 40-foot slopes, huge sea fans, and vivid colors.

Playa Melones

Just a short drive from the ferry terminal, you can visit Melones Beach. Bring your lounge chair and enjoy views of Cayo Luis Peña, a perfect backdrop for the sunset. This is not the best beach for bathing due to its rocky bottom, Melones is mainly visited for the great snorkeling spot easily accessible from the beach. The beach area is narrow, composed of sand, coral rocks, and pebbles. There is an area of shady trees and a picnic table under two picturesque palm trees.

Playa Luis Peña

Here are some of my favorite things to do on a tropical beach vacation … snorkeling, hiking, exploring white sand beaches, hunting for glass and seashells, playing in the water, and relaxing. We managed to do all of those things in one day on a recent trip to Culebra when we kayaked to Cayo Luis Peña. This small island is rarely visited, but this nature reserve is really worth experiencing. Cayo Luis Peña is located off the west coast of Culebra, in front of Playa Tamarindo. To get there, you have to cross the canal, a distance of almost 1 mile. This small island is part of the Luis Peña Natural Reserve (along with Playa Tamarindo) and is managed by the Department of Natural Resources (DRNA). It is “open” to use from 6am to 6pm. The island is available for swimming, snorkeling, snorkeling, hiking, and photography. Fishing, camping, making bonfires and touching or stepping on coral reefs are prohibited. It is a nature reserve, so you cannot bring shells or other natural objects that you can find. You must ensure that you do not harm any nature in your use of the island and the surrounding waters.

Playa Resaca

Take the road on the east side of the airport to the top (if you think you are at the top, you are not, continue). Park. Start walking through the forest, a hike full of challenges, big rocks, interesting flora. At the bottom, the maze begins through the mangrove forest following a path marked by pieces of rope. Total walk down ~ 30 minutes. Emerge from the forest and AMAZING! all you see is a beautiful long beach. No one will be there. The beach goes for ~ 1 mile. The waves are strong and the noise of the ocean beautiful.

Playa Tortuga

Located on the small island off the east coast of Culebra, Culebrita, Tortuga Beach or Turtle Beach, it is considered the main beach of this small island – the name comes from the large number of turtles that visit the shores! With its powdery white sand and crystal clear waters, Tortuga is a great place to swim and snorkel with amateurs. But this beach doesn’t end there! Tortuga also offers many different hiking options, with trails that take you to places like the tidal pools, the lighthouse, Trash Beach, or West Beach. Like any other beach in Culebra (except Flamenco), Tortuga does not have amenities such as bathrooms, parking (this beach can be accessed by boat) or kiosks, so it is recommended that you bring everything you need to enjoy a lovely day in this little piece of paradise.

Playa Punta Soldado

Punta Soldado is a quiet beach off the southern coast of Culebra. It is an excellent place for amateur snorkelers and snorkelers – its calm, clear waters and reefs that almost creep towards shore make it a habitat for a variety of underwater species, such as fish, turtles, octopuses, lobsters, and many more. Although Punta Soldado is a beach best known for its diving spots, you can also bring a beach chair and work on your tan … And, from your beach chair, you can enjoy the calm sound of the water hitting the shore and the spectacular view of Vieques and Puerto Rico. However, it is a pebble hike from the shore to the water, so if you are bringing children, make sure they wear diving shoes.

Tamarindo Beach

Playa Brava

Brava is an isolated beach on the wild north coast of the island, which probably earned its name for its temperamental currents and waves. The beach is located within undeveloped hills and protected lands, and is disconnected from the tourist circuit of the beach. The path to get to the beach is through a scrubby forest that follows the sheets of water and tunnels of thick vegetation. You can run into a pond and walk through a lush mangrove forest. The road can be a bit difficult, but once you get to this heavenly beach, it will all be worth it! The landscape can be described as the perfect example of a deserted tropical beach with bright shades of deep greens and blues that you would see on a postcard. Like all the other beaches in Culebra (except Flamenco), Brava Beach does not offer any type of services, therefore it is important that you make sure you bring everything you need to enjoy an extraordinary day on this spectacular beach.
