Canada has 40 area codes.
When area codes were created in 1947 to prepare for a nationwide unified long-distance dialing system, all of Canada was not covered.
Newfoundland, Labrador, and the Northwest, Yukon, and Nunavut territories were not included.
The original 9 area codes of Canada include 204, 306, 403, 416, 418, 514, 604, 613, and 902. The most recently added was 367 in 2018 as an overlay to 418.
Unlike the US, Canadian area codes can cross province/state boundaries.
Only 3 cross province boundaries: 782, 867, and 902. Area code 782 serves Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Area code 867 is the area code for northern Canada including the Yukon, Nunavut, and Northwest territories. Area code 902 serves Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

What is the country code
Before you start looking for what country code, you need to understand that each country has a great variety of codes. Which one are you interested in? By what standard? In what, at least, area? The more accurately you know this, the easier it will be to find what you are looking for. The table below shows seven different codes.
Code of Russia
Especially for those who are too lazy to look at the table: Russian telephone code “+7”, symbolic country code “RU” and “RUS” (depending on how many letters are required), country numeric code in the same ISO standard “643” – this also means “Russia”, a barcode in the EAN standard for goods in the range from “460” to “469”. In addition, there are codes for the regions of Russia: this is the OKATO code and automobile codes.
For convenience, part of the data is copied to separate pages: telephone country codes and country bar codes. And at the bottom of this page (under the table) – more about the codes: how to understand them, which are presented, why they are needed

The telephone code of the country
If you do the international call, you will need the Code of the country first. which you want to call. Then, in order, comes the code of the city or area, if required, and only then the local number of the subscriber. To avoid confusion, area codes are generally grouped by continent. For example, numbers for North America (Canada and the United States) and some Caribbean countries begin with “1”. Those. first enter “1”, then “xxx” – US state or Caribbean country, then the number itself. From the number “2” – African numbers. Numbers for Russia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Kazakhstan begin with the number “7”. Mobile country codes are usually within the available range.
Find country code
ISO 3166-1 usually helps with this. It is divided into three types of code: two-letter (widely used, for example, for car numbers or domain names on the Internet), three-letter (also widely used) and a numeric country code. But there are many other standards that different organizations use. The most popular example: the country code at the Olympics. You saw that under each flag there are three letters.
