Today’s Notes of an Emigrant will talk about postcodes in the United Kingdom. The topic is boring only at first glance. If you dig around, there is a sea of \u200b\u200beverything interesting.
The British still write a lot of letters. Not so much personal as work. We receive 2-3 letters a day from banks, various loyalty programs, hotels, airlines, and so on. They send letters not because they are so backward, but because the post office works many times better than in Russia. The country is relatively small, so it is easy, fast and relatively cheap to deliver letters or parcels.

Another famous UK postal code is E17. It is famous, however, not for the street and not for beautiful buildings, but for four residents, members of the East 17 group (precisely in honor of the index – E17 in East London). If the card was successfully authorized, you decided to enter it later, or even if it was rejected, the system will still ask you to perform the next step: confirm the e-mail address that was specified in the registration form.
Check your incoming mail in the email address you specified during registration. If there is an email from PayPal with the subject “Welcome to PayPal / Welcome to PayPal”, find the “Activate / Activate” button in it and click it.
You will be taken to the PayPal website, where you will also need to enter the password chosen during registration for confirmation. Immediately you will be asked to come up with two secret questions, the answer to which you will need to enter if you ever forget your password.
If the link in the email doesn’t work, go to your PayPal account and select “Verify Email Address” in the “To Do List” tab.
Then on the next page in “Step 2” select “Click this link if this button is in the body of the email” and enter the numeric confirmation code ( confirmation number ) from the email you received.
If you haven’t received any emails from PayPal, you can send yourself an email with a verification code again. To do this, click on the link “request a new confirmation number” on the same page at the bottom.
Card verification
Now, in order to fully work with Paypal, you need to verify your payment card. This is an additional security measure that will confirm that you are the owner of the card being used. By going through this procedure, you will also raise the limits (turnover limit) of your PayPal account.
The card verification process is quite simple. Its essence is as follows: $ 1.95 is withdrawn from your card (this money is subsequently returned either to the card or to the balance), then in the statement of card transactions, in the details of this payment, you find a 4-digit code (the payment details of the payment will look like something like this: “ 1234PayPal – *EXPUSE ”(variations are possible), the first 4 digits are your code), which must be entered on the PayPal website. You can find out this code through Internet banking, by calling the bank’s support service, or by receiving a statement of card transactions.
