All night bars near me: Chicago’s Best 4 A.M. Bars

Chicago’s Best 4 A.M. Bars

“You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.”

It’s a phrase we’ve heard all too often at 1:54 a.m. In fact, we laugh in the face of an early bedtime. Some nights are too fun to put a cap on. Enter Chicago’s limited, but still plentiful 4 a.m. liquor licenses. They’re a beautiful thing. These bars all pour until 4 a.m. every night of the week (5 a.m. on Saturdays) and are frequent hangouts for night owls, service industry workers, and other characters you’d never meet in the daylight.

Bourbon on Division

2050 W. Division St. – Wicker Park

Both the name of the bar and what you’ll be drinking until the wee hours of the morning, Bourbon On Division is a fan-favorite multi-level venue. Start off the night on their second floor, a great source of live music, and continue the rest of the night with DJs and drinks on their main dance floor and bar.

photo via Facebook/Berlin Nightclub

Berlin

954 W. Belmont Ave. – Lakeview

Is it really even a true night at Berlin if you leave before 2 a.m.? We’ve been dancing through the decades at this LGBTQ+ club since it opened in the early ’80s. Our favorite thing about Berlin is its everlasting lack of pretension. Everyone is welcome here. Come as you are. Just be cool and respectful. That’s all.

The Hangge-Uppe

It’s all about the music at this lovable divey dance club. The first floor is always a source of Top 40 hits, but the basement gets extra groovy with ’70s and ’80s throwback tunes playing all night.

The Hangge-Uppe reopens in July, and we can’t wait to get our groove on here!

photo via facebook/the owl

The Owl

2521 N. Milwaukee Ave. – Logan Square

You know you’re in a serious late-night karaoke spot when the performances don’t even start until 11 p.m. Alice’s is a stomping ground for Chicago’s most serious of karaoke singers four nights a week (Wednesday through Saturday). We promise there’s not much more entertaining than watching a vodka-soaked rendition of Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” at 4:15 a. m.

Alice’s will be back open in July with karaoke in full swing, so make sure to add that to your calendar.

Beaumont Bar & Grill

2020 N. Halsted St. – Lincoln Park

If you’ve asked the question “can I eat a burger at the club?”, Lincoln Park’s number one dance bar and grill is here to show you how. The ol’ Beaumont is something of a right of passage for DePaul students and other 20-something-year-olds new to the bustling area.

The surgeon from the “Night Wolves” supported the renaming of Volgograd

In the city center the day before, on February 2, during the celebration of the Victory Day in the Battle of Stalingrad, a Volgograd Notebook correspondent talked to the leader and founder of the All-Russian Night Wolves motorcycle club Alexander Surgeon (Zaldastanov).

A biker told an amazing story about meeting Vladimir Putin and asking to rename Volgograd.

Once, 10 years ago, during the preparation of the Bike Show, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, the Surgeon met, and later became friends, with a veteran from our city – Vladimir Semyonovich Turov.
Once a veteran turned to the leader of the motorcycle club with a request. He held out the letter and asked that it be handed over to Vladimir Putin personally.

– At that time I had the opportunity to see the President. When I looked at that paper that the veteran gave me, I realized that this was not a request – it was a will!!! The last request of a person who is dying, who did not complain, but thanked fate – thanked the state, which takes care of him, remembers him, gives him attention – this is very important for a veteran. But something is very disturbing to him, and I realized that the will was dictated by this inner restlessness, which went with him.

The main thing in the will was the idea to return the former name to Volgograd. Alexander Zaldastanov quoted the letter:

“Give the name of victory back to the city. We died for Stalingrad. Our opinion was not asked when it was renamed, so the only thing I ask is my last request as a dying veteran.”

After this testament, Stalingrad flew into my heart. And then I said: “I promise that I will personally hand over to the president.”

Some time later, the head of the motorcycle club met with Vladimir Putin at the opening of the Children’s Round Dance fountain near the railway station in Volgograd in 2013.

– And it really happened that that meeting, that fountain that we were opening here. And where did the president come, and where did I want to deliver this letter, which I kept close to my heart. Then, it so happened that I did not have these few minutes to talk with him and tell him everything.

I saw that I would not have the conversation I was waiting for, that the president had already gone to the car. Seeing this, I then gave a 100-meter race … Pushing everyone aside, I ran forward, and then grabbed the door handle of the outgoing car.

I was stared at by a bewildered guard. And I saw through the glass how the President tapped on the shoulder of the guard, ordering him to stop the car and lower the window. And then, I personally handed over the letter and said: “This is for you

Vladimir Vladimirovich from a veteran. Then, I made sure that he read the letter from beginning to end, and only when he put this letter next to me, and looking at me, said: “We will definitely return to this issue,” I exhaled. The promise has been kept! After that, the window closed and the car drove away. And I crossed myself.

After this incident, the head of the Night Wolves and the bikers stopped calling the hero city Volgograd.

– From now on, we have excluded from our vocabulary this distilled pseudonym called Volgograd. And since then, all the “Night Wolves” call the city – Stalingrad. This is a settled issue for our entire organization.

Also, the famous guest of the city spoke about what lies ahead for the country.

– Now a new era begins along with the anniversary of the Stalingrad victory. Some tectonic shifts. Russia for centuries, once again, is waging a battle with the darkness from the underworld. I have a feeling that Stalingrad has always been. Now Stalingrad is Donbass. That is why in the photograph in my hands you now see my brother, who died in the Donbass, who fought in the Avdeevka direction. This fountain, the most important, mystical Symbol of Victory!, – biker drew attention to the fountain at the station . – It seems that among the figures of children who hold each other’s hands and do not let the scaly reptile out, which creeps out into Russian history forever, our Albert is among them. All of Russia stands there with him, Donbass stands there, once again not unclenching its hands and not releasing evil out into this world, washing itself with bloody tears. Russia now is the fighting Stalingrad. Ahead of us is a fiery, bright, luminous Victory.

With these thoughts, we are now in this square.

A visit to the hero-city prompted Alexander Zaldastanov to the idea of the upcoming Bike Show, which he shared with a Notebook correspondent.

– Today I decided that this year we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory, the Bike Show, like 10 years ago, will be held in Stalingrad, on the very site where the climax of the program turned into a volcanic eruption .

This is a fateful platform. It was there that the Russian spring began in 2013, when a train arrived from Sevastopol.
