Lo que un día fue un volcán se transformó para generar una corriente de minerales que fluyen a la faz de La Tierra. El agua cargada naturalmente de minerales, no viene en vano a la superficie; entre otras tantas razones, viene a establecer un enlace entre los elementos del planeta.

Los geólogos concluyen que hay grietas en la falda del río Coamo. En la profundidad de la Tierra, al extinguirse el volcán quedaron rocas calientes. El agua se filtra por ahí y en su viaje se va cargando de minerales y de calor; retornando a la superficie en forma de manantiales de agua sulfurosa caliente.

Nosotros fuimos hasta el Centro del Universo, como se le conoce al Municipio de Coamo en Puerto Rico. Conocer este encantador paraje de la Ciudad de las Aguas Termales, es una experiencia sui generis llena de simbolismo, esperanza y Fé. Con la venia de Atabey, la “Madre de las Aguas”, el principio femenino del mundo en la cultura taína, nos regalamos una oportunidad de reconexión con la naturaleza.

Llegue a mi casa completamente recargada, o descargada. Depende de como lo miremos. Mis molestias físicas se desvanecieron entre las aguas sulfurosas, la magia del momento y la bendición de poder disfrutar de la vida y de la compañía de mi esposo. La consciente conexión de mi ser como un elemento más de la naturaleza, se avivaba con los sonidos del agua, las aves, y las voces de otros afortunados que relataban sus historias de sanación.

Cuenta la leyenda que estos manantiales son la fuente de la juventud que buscaba Ponce de León en el oeste, y termino llegando hasta San Agustín en la Florida tratando de encontrarla.

El Poder Curativo de la Naturaleza

Los secretos de la naturaleza para procurar nuestro bienestar son infinitos. Todo lo que existe en ésta Tierra tiene una compleja misión. Razón por la cual, la conservación y la protección de los recursos naturales son entendidas como una necesidad de asegurar que todos los elementos del planeta puedan cumplir su misión, incluyéndonos.

¿Pero cuál es esa misión? -Puede que nuestra capacidad humana nos lleve a comprender algunas dimensiones -dentro de lo que creemos conocer- pero, la realidad es, que solo Dios lo sabe. Por eso te invito a proteger y respetar, ciegamente, la integridad de todo lo que existe en La Tierra.

El “ciegamente», tenemos que interpretarlo bajo la luz del amor por la vida, la justicia, y la equidad con compasión sincera por la humanidad. Proteger la creación a ciegas no puede ser excusa para sobreponer el bienestar de una especie sobre el de otra. Ni una excusa para destruir lo que no tiene vida, pero forma parte de la vida, como las aguas termales.

Cuando se interpone el sacrificio frente a la protección de los elementos del planeta, no podemos sacrificar la vida humana, pero tampoco podemos arremeter contra la naturaleza. Necesitamos encontrar la armonía entre lo que necesitamos y lo que demandamos del planeta. Extinguir una especie o explotar una roca porque no respira es despreciar sus roles en la vida.

La diversidad biológica del planeta alberga la respuesta a muchas de nuestras inquietudes de salud y sobre los procesos que se dan entre los elementos vivos y los elementos inertes del planeta que, en conjunto, representan la fuente de nuestra salud, la fuente de nuestro bienestar.

Los seres humanos nos diferenciamos del resto de las especies del planeta por la capacidad de crear la civilización y es importante celebrar esa diferencia. La celebración es compatible con la conservación, desarrollar comodidades no es un crimen, es una diferencia, y hacerlo en armonía con la naturaleza también debe ser parte de esa diferencia.

Puedes disfrutar del hermoso complejo de las Piscinas Termales de Coamo por una pequeña donación de $3 o la mitad, si ya cumpliste los 60 años.  

Los niños menores de 6 años y adultos mayores de 75 años no tienen que pagar.

Abierto de Lunes a Viernes (7am a 8pm) Sábados y Domingos (8am a 7pm)Aunque me informaron que en ésta temporada están abiertos hasta las 10pm.

El agua de las Piscinas de Coamo está compuesta de carbonato de Magnesio, carbonato de Calcio, sulfato de Hierro, ácido sulfídrico, ácido carbónico, ácido clorhídrico y Silicio.

Te recomiendo consultar con un médico si tienes una condición especial de salud y evita el uso de protectores solares o cremas que contaminen el agua.

Sigue las indicaciones del lugar por tu bienestar y seguridad. Recuerda que el calor extremo, como todo extremo, es peligroso.

¡Gallo que no repite no es gallo!

Después del Huracán María volvimos a las Aguas Termales de Coamo. Ésta vez, trajimos de paseo a mi hermana que vino a visitarnos desde Venezuela. Si, tratando de tomarse unas vacaciones en medio de tanta tragedia que vive mi tierra natal.

Bueno, para nuestra sorpresa, los baños termales están en condiciones muy aceptables. Desafortunadamente, el techo de la piscina más pequeña, que es la más caliente, se fue con María. Y, al parecer, nadie ha podido hacerle volver. La visita fue en el mes de febrero del 2019 y el huracán fue el 20 de septiembre del 2017.

El staff de este lugar parece contagiarse con lo amable del espacio y te dejan sentir como en casa. Lo cual es gran cosa en estos tiempos que el estres y la rutina nos alejan de lo humano. Mi hermana disfruto mucho, fácilmente se dejó seducir por el chorro de agua sulforada que caía en la piscina tibia.

Es que cada uno llegó con un deseo de sanación que dio por cumplido. En su caso era el dolor tipico de la muñeca de la mano. La dolencia del siglo XXI con la tecnología demandando movimientos antes atipicos. En el de José, recuperarse del hombro abusado por los antojos era la misión. Y a mi la que era una bronquitis que quería abandonar para siempre.

Como dicen por ahí, se acuerdan de Santa Barbara cuando truena. Bueno, en realidad era una cortesía del periplo turístico de hospitalidad Blanco-Real que nos quedaba de perla. Por supuesto, la fe mueve montañas y la sanación comienza siendo un estado que movemos con nuestros pensamientos.

La ciencia y la naturaleza, se entregan al propósito con su sabiduría y perfección. Ahora, a hacer nuestra parte e informarnos. Sentir, vibrar con lo que la naturaleza es y la forma en que nos relacionamos.
