Barceloneta mapa: Bot Detection & Human Challenge

Guide to the barrio (district) Barceloneta

Fishermen first settled on the coast now known as Barceloneta in the 18th century. Even today, if you go deep into the dark, narrow streets of this place, the feeling of being in an old village does not leave here, standing on the balconies, old women are shouting to each other, and old men are sitting on the street at the doors of their houses. Now, however, Barcelona has another side as well, the city living a cosmopolitan, tourist-driven life, with music blaring from bars and cafes 24 hours a day.

Barceloneta beach

Obviously, the beach, packed with tourists and locals all summer long, is the main attraction of Barceloneta. Thanks to the people who patrol the beach back and forth, offering everything from donuts to water, from massages to swimwear, you can lie on the beach without moving all day. Chiringuitos are also scattered along the beach, these are bars that often play music and sell snacks.

No wonder Barceloneta is home to some of the best seafood. If you can get into the built-up part of the area, behind the strip of cafes and ice cream shops on Passeig Joan de Borbon. But, if you want a better view, there are plenty of restaurants overlooking the marina.

barceloneta

There is enough entertainment here, especially for families. The largest aquarium in Europe and IMAX cinema will appeal to both children and you if you want to escape from the heat or rain. Once I had to ride the Montjuïc cable car, this is not forgotten – do not go there if you are afraid of heights. But there are stunning views of the city from there.

There are street vendors along the road to Barceloneta who sell cool cheap glasses and scarves.

If you want to experience culture, then head to the Museum of the History of Catalonia, where you will learn the history of the capital of Catalonia, the city you are in. Opposite the museum is the Barceloneta metro station, which is one stop from the center of Barcelona, although you can easily walk to Las Ramblas in 15 minutes.

Barceloneta as residence

Barceloneta is great for family and beach holidays, while being located close to the center. Although this area can be recommended to young people, because in addition to the beach there are a variety of nightly entertainment. By the way, I know a few people who live in Barceloneta and almost never visit the city center.
