There is always something to read. And it’s better than what to watch.
Hierarchy of values:
An object to think about.
What to read.
What to listen to.
What to watch.
Exercise: topic – in the style of Seneca, or Balzac, or Dostoevsky …
And you will have a case in solitary confinement.

3. What to listen to.

What to listen to

There are composers for whom love (I speak based on my musical experience) arises and grows gradually, as their work is comprehended, with the recognition of an increasing number of their works. For me, such were, for example, Brahms and Wagner. And there are those for whom love flares up immediately and captures forever. Chopin is one of them. And happy is the one who already in his early youth experienced a flurry of feelings that give rise to his creations. This does not mean that some of these composers are better, others are worse. Nothing like this! It’s just that their music has a different effect on our soul. nine0003 A. Maikapar “World of the Arts”, p. 260.

I remember how in my adolescence I dreamed of Etude in C minor, op. 10 No. 12 by F. Chopin, called “Revolutionary”. I was ready to listen to it many times a day. I dreamed of playing it myself. What a joy it was,

, when I found it among the sheet music of our family music library. Then I could not yet play the stormy passages in the left hand, accompanying his proud and mournful melody. But I conjectured them, because love for this creation led me irresistibly. A. Maykapar “The World of Arts”, p. 260.

1. Something to think about.

To read means to think with someone else’s head instead of your own. But for independent thinking, which strives to develop itself into something whole, into some, even if not strictly completed system, nothing can be more harmful than too strong an influx through reading other people’s thoughts, because they, belonging separately to different minds, to a different system, having a different coloration, they themselves will never merge into one whole and will not give unity of thinking, knowledge of the view and conviction, but rather form a light Babylonian pandemonium in the head and deprive the mind overflowing with them of any clear look and thus almost upset it. Such a state is noticed in many scientists, and makes them inferior in common sense, correctness of judgment and practical tact to many unlearned people who acquire their insignificant knowledge, acquired by experience, conversation and a little reading, assimilate to themselves through their own thinking. Exactly the same thing, but on a larger scale, is what the scientifically educated thinker does. Although he needs a lot of knowledge and must therefore read a lot, his mind is powerful enough to master all this, to assimilate it, to introduce it into his system of thoughts and thus subordinate to the integral unity of his constantly expanding, majestic look, and his own thinking constantly dominates everything, like the main bass of an organ, and is never drowned out by extraneous tones, as is the case in simply versatile heads, in which fragments of all keys are intertwined and you will not find the main tone. nine0010

About Thinking on Your Own Chapter

With sea and sunrise views! – Review of Hotel Samba, Lloret de Mar, Spain

Pros:
1. Location.
2. Nutrition. nine0003 3. Friendly staff at the reception and in the restaurant.

Minuses:
1. Bed and mattress in the room.
2. Quality of sleep. Noise in the room from the evening animation in the bar (the room was above the bar).

Rested at the hotel from 28 to 31 October 2015. I arrived at the hotel at 21.30. I was greeted at the reception by a friendly woman who spoke Russian. I was given an electronic card from the room (259), a guest card that indicates the schedule of breakfasts, lunches and dinners, with which you need to go to a restaurant, and a card that is exchanged at the bar for a drink. This card must be handed over at the reception upon departure, so you must not forget to give your empty plastic glass at the bar and get your card back. Paid a tourist tax of 1.5 euros for 3 nights (0.5 euros per night). The woman at the reception put on a green bracelet for me (I have Al food). She reported that at 22 o’clock in the bar (BAR SALOON) a flamenco show starts, and spent dinner (even on the bus, the guide warned that everyone in the hotels had a cold dinner). My suitcase is closed in the room next to the reception. Lunch, which I missed today, was postponed to the day of departure (I had a departure at 16.45, and a check-out at 10.00). nine0010

After dinner, I quickly threw my suitcase into my room and went to the bar to watch flamenco. Three girls and a guy danced for forty minutes. A beautiful sight, I liked it. Sangria too. At the same time considered the guests of the hotel. I studied them all 4 days that I lived in a hotel. Most were French and Spaniards, less – Germans, British. Russian in the hotel did not find a single person (except myself). The main contingent is pensioners. There are also many vacationers of pre-retirement age. Under 30 years old – units. I tried to find teenagers I read about before leaving. Several children and adolescents were revealed only as part of families, they all behaved with dignity and quietly. At the performances in the bar, tourists loved to dance. Mostly they were people of mature age. European pensioners know how to relax and have fun! And frankly drunk did not meet. nine0010

On Saturday afternoon, the singer performed in the same bar. And in the evening – duet “Duo Indalo”. European pensioners danced very amicably and with inspiration to his songs. Moreover, so synchronously, as if they had been rehearsing for a very long time. It was interesting to watch them, and the songs were pleasant.
The bar has a guest service area on All Inclusive.

Next to the bar there is an arcade with billiards.

I leave the bar and find myself in a spacious hall where the reception is located, a corner with maintenance folders, a luggage storage room, vending machines with water and food. If on weekdays the hotel was quiet and calm, then on Saturday the lobby was bustling. nine0003 After the elevators, there is a free Wi-Fi zone and the entrance to the restaurant, where breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served. To the left of the entrance to the restaurant is a toilet. So often I didn’t even run into the room. I washed my hands here, ate and again on the road to explore the surroundings.

Nutrition.

Since I’ve reached the restaurant, I’ll tell you about the food. I liked it. Several types of meat, fish, seafood, side dishes, vegetables (there were always tomatoes and salad, there were no fresh cucumbers), soup, salads, always a large selection of cold appetizers, fruits (melon, pears and persimmons are very sweet, watermelon, pineapples, kiwi, apples), various pastries (I especially liked the croissants), ice cream, a large selection of desserts … In general, there are a lot to list. Everything was delicious, though sometimes the nuggets were overcooked. nine0003 Grilled vegetables, meat for lunch and dinner, as well as scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried bacon, pancakes for breakfast are cooked right in front of you. To the left of the entrance to the restaurant, behind a separate counter, you can take a carafe of water and a jug of wine for lunch and dinner for those who have Al. Who is on HB, drinks for money. For breakfast, two types of juices and cold water from vending machines. I liked pineapple juice not from a machine, but next to it from a container with a faucet. Normal coffee from the machine, but somehow sweet. In both vending machines there are different types of coffee, hot chocolate (sweet), hot milk (sweet), boiling water. Worth a toaster. For breakfast, the devices are taken by the vacationers themselves, for lunch and dinner tables are served. The waiters quickly clear the dirty dishes from the tables. You can always find a free table in the hall. There were practically no queues. Only for breakfast, foreigners, as soon as they entered the restaurant, immediately lined up for coffee machines. The most popular place in the restaurant for breakfast. nine0010

Number.

Restaurant and reception on the ground floor. My room was located on the 2nd floor in the left side of the building (if you look at the building from the pool), right above the bar. The balcony overlooked the pool and playground under the windows. All entertainment in the bar ended at 23. 15-23.30. Then for 10 minutes the guests dispersed to their rooms. And that’s it! Then complete silence until morning. True, we must take into account the difference of 2 hours with Moscow. The main noise from the bar (mainly music) was from 21:00 to 23:00. There was also a couple of three kids making noise on the playground while their parents hung out at the bar. In Moscow, this is 23.00 – 01.00, that is, the most sleep for me. Since it was impossible to fall asleep at that time, and later, when silence set in, she could no longer fall asleep – the dream was gone by that time, she practically did not get enough sleep. But most of all she suffered because of the terrible bed, which cracked so much that it seemed that it was about to fall apart. Even worse was the creaky and sagging mattress in the middle, where you constantly roll down. Feels like sleeping in a hammock. In principle, this was the only minus of the room. Everything else was excellent! nine0003 The room is small, narrow, with a large glass door to the balcony. It has two plastic chairs. In the morning I met the dawn on the balcony. From the balcony there is a view of the hotel territory – the pool in the center, the playground on the right, the volleyball court on the left. In the opposite wing on the 0th floor there are restaurant windows, and in my wing there is a bar with a veranda. It was at this time that one could watch the seagulls that flew, walked around the territory, swam in the pool. And not a single soul. The beauty!
The room has a spacious new wardrobe, air conditioning, TV (I found TNT and Planet channels). Safe is paid (I did not take it). There was only a thick curtain on the window, obviously there was not enough tulle. In the corridor opposite the bathroom, there is a door to the next room. I didn’t hear them, maybe the number was empty. What was convenient about my room was that there was no number on one side. I heard my neighbors only from the corridor, when they dispersed according to their numbers after the evening animation. nine0010

Bathroom.

The bathroom is small. It was a little annoying that when you open the door about halfway, it hits the toilet. A door limiter would be installed if there is not enough space for the door to fully open. Usually you open it a little and squeeze through, but sometimes you forget, and then, oh, poor toilet bowl! However, everything functioned normally. They put only soap and toilet paper. There is a hair dryer and also a glass. Shelf above the toilet.

I can’t say anything about cleaning. I didn’t need it, nor did I need a change of towels. She hung a sign on the door so as not to disturb. Thankfully she was. nine0010

Hotel grounds.

The territory is small, but cozy. In the center of the pool, which was closed. On one side of the pool there is a volleyball court, exercise equipment and a table tennis table. On the other hand, there is a playground. In front of my eyes, the boy jumped over the closed gate to play table tennis.
