Welcome!
Carolina Hoyos is a stage and film actor, director, voice artist and musician.
Carolina Hoyos began as a childhood concert pianist before spending 3 seasons on “MTV Hits”. She plays captive songstress Antonella in Nicolas Winding Refn’s highly anticipated Amazon series “Too Old To Die Young”, firecracker Anise Silverlight in Austin Film Festival Winner “Blackwater” and Vice Presidential hopeful Celeste Seedlingsun in the film “Lee’d The Way”. She’s narrated for Harper Collins, made fun cameos in “Under the Silver Lake”, “Gene Simmons: Family Jewels”, Pharrell Williams’s video of the Oscar-Nominated song “Happy” and has shared the stage with Eddie Van Halen, Ryan Adams, and members of Guns N’ Roses. Carolina was named a Fellow in La Skins Fest
Native American TV Writers Lab, earned a coveted spot on the LA County Artist Roster, is a
West Hollywood Directing Artist Grantee and is in development with It’s Personal on her debut solo show performance with a support grant from The Peace Studio.
She is a Fall 2021 Member of Shakespeare Acting Company Black Girls Luv The Bard and performs regularly with comedy troupes Dad Jeans, Nightpantz and Theater Artist Ensemble Native Voices at The Autry.

Actor-Director | Voice Artist | Musician
Stage and film actor and director Carolina Hoyos was born in Washington, DC. and raised between Fairfax, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland. Her childhood as a competitive classical concert pianist and elementary school chorus accompanist was enriched with acting and directing after she played a ship captain in her 1st grade play. Her days quickly filled up with local commercials and theater as well as hosting and performing on DC/MD/VA cable access show U.S. KIDS. While in her 1st year studying theater at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in NYC, she launched her TV career on MTV HITS, appearing on the pop culture talk show for 3 seasons.
Carolina’s most recent screen work includes playing Antonella in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Amazon series TOO OLD TO DIE YOUNG, a cameo in UNDER THE SILVERLAKE, and starring roles in Austin Film Festival Winner BLACKWATER, Celeste Seedlingsun in “Lee’d The Way”, THE GYM by Jason Brown Lewis opposite Quinton Aaron of THE BLIND SIDE, and Native American LGBT family drama POLAR SUN by Katie Doane Avery.
She was named a Fellow in La Skins Fest

Carolina is a Fall 2021 Company Member of Shakespeare Acting Company Black Girls Luv The Bard and is currently under commission for her first solo show performance with It’s Personal with support from The Peace Studio. She previously originated the role of Seen By Her Nation in post punk rock opera “Sitting Bull’s Last Waltz”. The show was a benefit for Standing Rock with musical direction by Gregg Foreman of Cat Power. She also played Desiree in the LA cast of Hamilton alum Jesse Sanchez’s new musical “Sincerely, Mom”, Maddy in Match, Indigo in Jimi Hendrix play “Jimi’sthesia” and Delita in Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz play “Hortensia & the Museum of Dreams”. Carolina played Justin Timberlake in gender bending “Jimmy and Justin Play” and made cameos in the reality series “Gene Simmons: Family Jewels” and Pharrell Williams’s music video for Oscar-Nominated song “Happy” from “Despicable Me 2”.
She performs regulary with comedy troupes Dad Jeans and Nightpantz. Named Best Original Sketch by WhoHaHa, Nightpantz is regularly featured on Upworthy, BuzzFeed, Huffington Post, WhoHaHa, Comedy Cake and Funny or Die. Carolina is also a member of The Autry Museum’s Theater Artist Ensemble Native Voices.
Carolina is also a performing singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist listed on the coveted LA County Artist Roster. As an actor, Carolina is often typecast as the musician and/or homeless streetwise girl, often featuring her own music and weathered clothing from her life on the road. Carolina’s former band, Morgan Ave, appeared in the films “13 Going on 30″ with Jennifer Garner and “Shooting Livien” with Dominic Monaghan. Another former band, Two Birds, was scouted at their 1st show to appear in a Motorola Rokr ad campaign.
Carolina has shared the stage with Eddie Van Halen, Ryan Adams, and members of Guns N’ Roses. Her music has been featured in “Blackwater”, “Bruising For Besos”, “Burnt” and hip-hop collaboration “The Difference” with Mr Ra and DJ Caspr is featured alongside Justin Timberlake and 50 Cent on the Zoo York E.
S.T. 4.0 skate video soundtrack. Another single, “Bang Bang Bang”, features Jeremiah Bitsui who played Victor in the groundbreaking series “Breaking Bad”. Carolina directed the video for “Bang Bang Bang” and a remix of the song has spawned 50 fan video game edits on YouTube totaling 400K+ views.
Carolina often makes time for her favorite charities. She regularly performs bedside for cancer treatment patients with Musicians On Call, for homeless veterans at PATH and patients living with HIV/AIDS through LIFEbeat’s Hearts & Voices Program. She played football in the inaugural Alzheimer’s Association’s Blondes vs Brunettes game and performed at fund raisers for The Autism Society, UCLA American Indian Alumnae Scholarship fund, a Women’s Rights concert to benefit Multiple Sclerosis, A Very Jaggered XMAS to benefit the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Celebrate Life for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and at the Breast Cancer Race for the Cure. As a teenager, along with her now deceased Mother, she hosted and performed at fund raisers for the Beatriz Mujica Scholarship Fund, named after her late Grandmother, who worked tirelessly with inner-city youth at the Latin American Youth Center in Washington, DC.
