Day 1. Mexico City

Arrival in Mexico City. Meeting at the airport with an English-speaking guide and transfer to a 4* hotel (Casa Blanca or similar).

Day 2. Mexico City – National Anthropological Museum – Teotihuacan

Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Mexico City with a visit to the historical center of the city (on the UNESCO list) – Zocalo Square, near which the ruins of the ancient ritual center of the Aztecs are located. Previously, there was the Templo Mayor pyramid, and now it is a museum and an archaeological site. Inspection of the main Catholic Cathedral of Mexico. Visit to the Presidential Palace, where the frescoes of the famous Mexican artist Diego Riviera are located.* Then we will visit the National Anthropological Museum**, considered one of the best museums not only in Latin America, but also in the world. Day 3. Mexico City – Acapulco – La Quebrada

After breakfast we will go to the famous Pacific resort of Mexico – Acapulco. The city, located on the shores of the most beautiful sea bay, where the swimming season is open all year round, is famous for its nightlife, water sports, hotels and restaurants. Accommodation in a 4 * hotel (El Cano or similar) in the magnificent bay of Acapulco. Day 4. Acapulco – Taxco

In the afternoon we will have the opportunity to explore the area or relax on the Acapulco beach. Then we will move to the town of Taxco, listed in the list of “Magic Cities of Mexico” and called the Mexican capital of silver. Taxco was built by conquistadors who came here in search of the legendary Aztec riches. Jewelers here still offer guests a variety of precious metal products. Day 5. Taxco – Xochicalco – Puebla

After breakfast we will visit the ancient settlement of the pre-Columbian era – Xochicalco, which is located among the picturesque hills in the western part of the Mexican state of Morelos. Here we will see extraordinary stone buildings and sculptural reliefs of particular interest, fields for ritual ball games, an amazing solar observatory inside a cave and much more. Then we will go to Puebla – the largest city in Mexico, the most important cultural, historical, scientific and economic center. Puebla is famous for its beautiful architecture, unsurpassed national cuisine, bright and skillful “talavera” ceramics. The historic center of the city is named “Property of Humanity” and is included in the UNESCO list. In Puebla we will see one of the most amazing churches in Mexico – Santo Domingo with the chapel of the Holy Rosary. At one time, this chapel was regarded as the eighth wonder of the world. Day 6. Puebla – Catemaco

Breakfast lunch box. This day will be devoted to acquaintance with the amazing and mystical place where shamanism originated in Mexico, and in particular one of the oldest rituals of the pre-colonial era – “temazcal”. We will arrive at the picturesque coast of the Catemaco Lagoon, where we will be warmly welcomed by a cozy 4 * hotel with a magnificent view of the lake. In the late afternoon, we will have a boat trip to the Nansiyaga nature reserve, during which we will be able to see the uninhabited Monkey Island, observe the surroundings of the island of Agaltepek, which is closed to the public – a place of pilgrimage in ancient times.* Surrounded by the pristine nature of Nansiyaga Park, those who wish can take part in an ancient ritual cleansing in the steam Indian bath “Temazcal”. The picturesque canyon stretches for a distance of 30 kilometers, and its walls reach up to 1000 meters in height. The river Grijalva flows here, along which we will ride on boats. Along the way, we will be able to see crocodiles lurking in coastal waters, monkeys swinging on tree branches, and other representatives of the fauna, as well as admire the diversity of flora. During the day we will arrive at a 4 * hotel (Ciudad Real or similar) in the city of San Cristobal de las Casas, located high in the mountains. San Cristobal de las Casas was founded by the Spanish colonizers as one of the first settlements in the New World. Day 10 Palenque – Campeche

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit one of the most picturesque archaeological ruins of the Mayan civilization – Palenque. We will have enough time to admire the architectural monuments of this amazing place, immersed in the tropical greenery of the advancing jungle.

Moving on to the friendly colonial port city of Campeche on the Gulf Coast. To date, Campeche is one of the few cities in Mexico that has preserved the defensive fortifications built during the Spanish rule. We recommend that you take a tour of the city on a tourist tram. Day 11. Campeche – Uxmal – Celestun – Mérida

After breakfast, we will drive to the ancient Mayan city of Uxmal, which is a majestic example of Puuc style architecture that has not lost its charm today.

Our next destination is Celestun*, a small settlement in the west of the Yucatan Peninsula on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Here we will visit the magnificent biosphere reserve of pink flamingos and admire the large colony of these amazing birds that graze in shallow water near the narrow spit that separates the bay from the lagoon. A light, flat-bottomed vessel will silently approach the flock so that we can enjoy a stunning spectacle up close. During the boat trip, we will also swim deep into the mangroves, which have formed a kind of picturesque canopy above the waters of the river. nine0005

Then we will move to the capital of the state of Yucatan and the cultural center – Merida. Of particular interest to tourists are Independence Square and Paseo del Montejo, a wide boulevard where luxurious European-style mansions built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries are located. Accommodation in a 4* hotel (Conquistador or similar) in Merida.

*Flamingos are not always found in the reserve. A visit to the reserve is a bonus point of the program, and the company cannot guarantee the presence of birds in the reserve at the time of the visit.

Day 12. Merida – Chichen Itza – Ik Kil – Cancun

After breakfast we will head to the main political and ceremonial center of the Maya culture on the Yucatan Peninsula – Chichen Itza. The main attraction of the city is the pyramid of Kukulkan, included in the list of 7 New Wonders of the World. In addition, we will see the Observatory, the temple of the Warriors, a huge field for the sacred ball game (“Pok-ta-pok”). After visiting Chichen Itza, we will move to Cenote Ik-Kil, a beautiful underground lake where you can swim and relax before a trip to the Caribbean coast. In the evening, arrival in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. nine0005

**We recommend that you do not plan departures from Cancun on the day the tour ends, but stay at the hotel for at least one night. If you need a departure on the same day, you should book flights departing no earlier than 21.00. Please note that check-in at the airport starts 2-3 hours before departure.
