About our rating system
So near San Juan but so far away, this luxe resort hides in a rarified world of nearly 500 acres, encompassing a seaside forest, coconut grove, and an undeveloped coastline of white beach and swaths of wild sea grapes.
Palm and almond trees tower overhead, while gorgeous lakes, canals, and gardens are spread across the lush grounds, and there are paths to walk, jog or ride bicycles along and take it all in. The narrow lagoon pool curves in a blue strip across the sun splashed esplanade with private cabanas and plush lounge chairs. The largest lake has a boathouse with standup paddle boards, kayaks and small sail boats, and the unspoiled 2-mile long beach is gorgeous. The resort is centered around the Plantation House, a place of Old World elegance, housing the reception center, the resort’s signature restaurant Fern and the St. Regis Bar, with a stunning Arnaldo Roche Rabell painting hanging over the bar. Reméde Spa is topnotch with private massage villas that are perfect for couples. The St. Regis also offers world-class golf and tennis facilities and a complete children’s program, including the nightly “S’mores and Stories,” at an outdoor fireplace. Those who book here are treated to oversized rooms with plush comforts and edgy tech, all housed in low-key, hacienda-like villas spread across the property.
Bahia Beach also has an advantage over resorts in Rio Grande and Fajardo in being closer to the international airport in San Juan.
