This beach was tough to get to a month after a hurricane. No one was there though. Still a lot of detritus from the storms on the shore at the time though. Beautiful and warm.

This was a nice hotel.
The few staff were pleasant and it was clean. It is in a nice private area away from the crowds. Not to handicap friendly. There were alot of steps in odd places and safety issues that needed attention. Reasonably priced. Thank you

Best beach for little kids

This is the best beach for little kids on the island. Smooth soft sand and not a lot of people. There are covered tables in a few locations, and decent snorkeling.

Half Moon Bay in Vieques

I am still laughing at my “revelation” I had in the water telling my wife after I notice the curvature of the shoreline at MLB and finally realizing that Media Lunch means Half Moon 🙂 for a non Spanish speaker it’s somewhat difficult to remember but almost every island we visited in Caribbean has a beach called Half Moon and that somewhat sticks with me easier (even though English isn’t my 1st language either)
Nevertheless, it’s the HALF MOON shape of this beach that creates perfect conditions for very calm, shallow and peaceful waters.
Super pretty and relaxing. Not too much shade so make sure to bring an umbrella with you and beach chairs as this is more of a “wild” beach as compared to say Caracas Beach (another beauty). No food vendors, bathrooms etc. here either so plan accordingly.
To arrive at Media Luna you actually need to enter the main gate right past Esperanza welcome sign going east; pay $4 per car and drive through the green park (where lots of horses roam around, super pretty drive) and then go through the sandy road on Sun Bay Beach to arrive at the dirt road intersection – the left turn first and then right turn (on google maps it shows right turn first to Playa Media Luna but that is not correct, the Media Luna Beach is the one you want to go for per maps info).
TIP: regular car is fine just slow down, even on the Sun Bay Beach sandy road there are a lot of deeper holes so you don’t want to damage the car – no SUV or 4×4 needed, you will be perfectly fine

White sand all to yourself!

The soundbar (I think that’s what it’s called) goes out waist high for over 30 feet! Such a great place to have all to yourself and hang out in the shallow waters.

Lots of shallow water

We were trying to find a beach suitable for snorkeling, and thought this might be it since it was calm. However, there wasn’t too much to see in the water, and there was a lot of grassy patches. The water was largely shallow which was good for the kids. There are some picnic shelters here and there but some are missing roofs since the hurricane. Trash barrels are provided but there is still a lot of loose trash around the beach.

Nice quiet beach

Not easy to get to, but quiet and gentle sloping entry/exit from the ocean. Protected from the surface as this is in a cove. Some cabanas available.

This beach was pristine and so calm. We had the beach to ourselves, literally. We were a large group and we were the only ones on the beach. It was shallow, calm and so relaxing.

The best beach we visited in vieques, similar to st. Thomas. We had the beach to our selves. Snorkeling to the left by rocks. Very calm beach with clear water.

Really liked this beach. It’s about half a mile long stretch of sand with the clearest water I had seen. During the weekdays the beach is mostly empty, just a few people here and there. The beach is yours! haha!
