Very difficult to get to. Almost no parking. Slippery, dangerous stairs. Very crowded, loud and swarming with blasting thumping boom boxes. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

Beautiful beach with scary stairs

Gorgeous beach with treacherous terrain. We paid $5 to park at the lot. After that it was a short walk to the beach. Once you get down the first level of rocky walkway you can either go to the left or to the right. The right is a smaller beach with larger waves. Not great for small children. To the left is a dangerous, concrete stairway with no guardrail. There was a short jump at the end of the staircase to get down. I did not feel safe with two small children, so we opted to leave. I am not sure I could have gotten back up on the staircase without injuring myself. If you are young and adventurous-go for it. Make sure you wear your Keens or other sturdy shoes. We were bummed we could not get down because the water was absolutely amazing and calm – great for kids. I wish there was another way down there.

Great place for snorkeling

Relatively secluded beach with easy access to get water from sandy beach. While snorkeling we spotted turtles, many different kinds of fish and corals.

Great Snorkeling Beach

This beach is good for snorkeling. The waves are not strong and beach not too deep. It is great for kids to learn how to swim/snorkel. Parking can be a hassle and parking on the street that leads to the beach can result in a $100 ticket!!! Park in the abandon house on the high to the left. Swimming shoes are a must and be careful with crabs and they will pinch!

Gorgeous but a little rough

Our family went on a snorkeling adventure at Playa Pena Blanca. The location is gorgeous with beautiful scenic views and is totally Instagram worthy. The sea is a bit rough and very rocky so be careful! I would not recommend for small children but it was a great adventure for our tweens and teens.

Beautiful scenic beach

This beach was beautiful, scenic, quiet and clean, however, I personally wouldn’t feel safe swimming in it due to strong waves crashing against the rocks. It could be the time of year I visited (December).

He’s a snake

Yes, I encountered the little DB this morning. He came running up to inform me you would get a $100 ticket for parking there but the little saint had a solution… park at his place for $5, all day. What a bargain! Such a helpful local. Just think of all the money he saves people. All they have to do is park at his place and boom he doesn’t have to lift a finger and he makes mucho dinero. He looked like a sneaky little DB, so I left.

Beautiful beach but the Neighbor’s not nice

This is a beautiful beach with locals and a nice surf spot too. They ticket cars if you park on the street but only because the DB who has a house next to the beach and allows people to park in his yard for $5 a piece called the police if you decide not to pay him and take the risk. Sneaky little DB he is. The people who know better find the side road that leads along the coast and park on that. It’s a dirt road so motorcycle cops don’t travel down it.

We went to playa Piedra Blanca and it is a very secluded area. We arrived at 5:00pm it is a rural area. We parked at the street and walk down rocky road. Every thing seemed nice. Very small beach and solitary we just took pictures. When we came back we had a $100.00 fine. Apparently there is private parking but are no signs. We found out buy the locals that the neighbors offer parking but no signs (to avoid paying taxes?) It was a shame and ruined our day. Next time I’ll stay in Crash Boat.

Es una playa que no es muy fácil de llegar, antes estaba destinada a los locales, ahora es muy famosa por lo que muchas veces está llena de gente. Hay poco estacionamiento y la calle es estrecha,por lo que el acceso puede ser un poco difícil. Hay piedras y escaleras pra llegar al agua, no es recomendable para personas que necesiten asistencia o se les dificulte caminar. El agua es muy clara y cristalina, he visto tortugas. Muchas personas aprovechan para hacer snorkeling, aunque es un poco peligrosa, tiene muchas piedras. La mayor parte del año tiene muy poca arena, así que los lugares para poder dejar tus cosas son muy pocos. Ve con lo necesario a relajarte y pasar un buen rato. Lleve snacks y agua, pues no hay establecimientos de comida cerca.

Perfect for snorkeling

El lugar es perfecto para snorkeling. El area con arena es pequeña a menos que si va a estar en el agua todo el tiempo puede dejarlas en las piedras. El agua es cristalina y hay muchos peces. Muy bonito!

Hermoso, pero…

El lugar es hermoso, puedo decir que no todo el tiempo en el año puedes ir ya que es mar abierto y llega la temporada en la cual no hay orilla. Ahora en verano es perfecto. Puedes ir con toda tú familia, pero hay que tener precaución ya que para subir y bajar hay muchas piedras. Si vas en temporada alta (verano) recomiendo que vayan súper temprano ya que el “estacionamiento” se llena. Hay personas que cobran por estacionarse en sus hogares ($3). También pueden aprovechar y pasar por Playuela 😉

Muy difícil de llegar. Casi no hay estacionamiento. Escaleras resbaladizas y peligrosas. Muy concurrido, ruidoso y repleto de cajas de resonancia que golpean a todo volumen. No le desearía esto ni a mi peor enemigo.

Hermosa playa con escaleras de miedo

Hermosa playa con terreno traicionero. Pagamos $5 para estacionar en el lote. Después de eso, fue un corto paseo hasta la playa. Una vez que baje el primer nivel de la pasarela rocosa, puede ir hacia la izquierda o hacia la derecha. La derecha es una playa más pequeña con olas más grandes. No es genial para niños pequeños. A la izquierda hay una peligrosa escalera de hormigón sin barandilla. Hubo un pequeño salto al final de la escalera para bajar. No me sentía seguro con dos niños pequeños, así que optamos por irnos. No estoy seguro de haber podido volver a subir las escaleras sin lastimarme. Si eres joven y aventurero, anímate. Asegúrese de usar sus Keens u otros zapatos resistentes. Estábamos desanimados porque no podíamos bajar porque el agua era absolutamente increíble y tranquila, ideal para los niños. Ojalá hubiera otra forma de bajar allí.

Playa relativamente apartada con fácil acceso para obtener agua de la playa de arena. Mientras buceamos, vimos tortugas, muchos tipos diferentes de peces y corales.
