Pick up was easy. The overall tour was so fun. I’m an animal lover and seeing wild dolphins has been a dream of mine so this was amazing! We saw maybe 20 dolphins about an hour in. The ride itself was nice because it was sunny and calm, but still my family got seasick. So if you have a weak stomach be prepared. I would recommend!

Getting on the ship was not clear. Nowhere did it say that you need to get paper tickets. Because of this, we couldn’t get adjacent seats on the ship. We had to sit on such a supply box and that’s why the sea made us feel bad. Clearer instructions would have helped. I also wanted the trip without transportation, but I never got any answers even when I tried to ask if there was transportation or not. So I didn’t like the service until the cruise itself. You should take a motion sickness tablet before the trip!!! Especially if it’s windy!

The team was very friendly and went out of their way to find the animals in the huge area. When time was running out, they simply added 40 minutes until everyone had seen a few dolphins. What was missing was an indication in advance of the sometimes violent swell. I would advise people with a tendency to seasickness against this tour.

Wintering on maternity leave. Part 10. Visit the Dolphins

Friday Jan. 14, 2011 08:40 Wintering on maternity leave. Part 10. Visiting the Dolphins

The events described in this part took place on Monday, January 10th. What is special about this particular Monday? Yes, it would not have been any different from the rest of the days of our vacation, if we had not decided to go on a short sea voyage on Monday.

As I already wrote, we now live in a small resort town of Puerto Rico in the west of Gran Canaria. From there, every hour during the day there are regular flights to the neighboring town of Puerto de Mogan (about 10 kilometers from Puerto Rico).

01.

The ticket is very inexpensive: 6 euros one way or 10 euros round trip. The boats are equipped with glass inserts in the bottom, which allows (purely theoretically) to watch the fish over which it floats. There are about 10 flights a day, but two of them are special. They leave at 10:30 and 12:30 from Puerto Rico, and they are special in that the ship sails not for the usual 20 minutes, but for an entire hour, and during this time it enters the zone of the Atlantic Ocean where dolphins live. Moreover, the cost of the trip is exactly the same. Real dolphins in the real Ocean! We couldn’t miss it. And so, at 12:15 we were at the pier, ready to sail.

02.

Before departure we were tried to be matched by competing companies offering fish safari on a half-ship, half-submarine. Moreover, they claimed that “a 100% guarantee that we will see fish. ” We will see 100% of fish from the pier, but the chance to see dolphins in their natural habitat is not given every time.

03.

04.

This is the boat we rode on the ocean.

05.

Lenusya and Katerina are impatient, waiting for the departure.

06.

07.

And so we set sail and in almost a couple of minutes sailed past our hotel where we live. There he is white stands on the closest to the ocean.

08.

The views from the ship are amazing!!!

09.

10.

11.

The dolphin zone is located about a kilometer and a half from the coast. We were probably very lucky, but even from afar I noticed unnatural splashes of water in the distance, and soon we saw a large flock of Atlantic dolphins. There were about fifty of them, no less. They then surfaced, then went under the water – an awesome sight! No dolphinarium even stood nearby! If you are in the Canary Islands, take the time to ride to the dolphins – it’s worth it. In the meantime, just look, although the photographs do not convey even a tenth of the pleasure and delight that you experience when looking at these mammals.

Our ship made four or five circles while we were admired by dolphins . Katya and Lena were absolutely delighted!

21.

22.

In Puerto de Mogan, we walked along the waterfront and had lunch at a waterfront restaurant – the same one located near the playground from the last part of my story.

23.

24.

25.

The way back went along the coast, so that we could see every hidden corner of the rocky coast.

26.

27.

There are several wild beaches between Mogan and Puerto Rico and all of them are nudist. People arrive in cars, strip naked and sunbathe for their own pleasure.

28.

29.

And soon the closest beach to us Amadores appeared, and behind it our Bahia Blanca.

30.

31.

The day was just great! We got a lot of impressions and a big positive charge! Well, at the end of such a beautiful day, the whole family admired an equally beautiful sunset.

Walking on the beach before going to bed – what could be better?!

That’s it! This was the last part of my story about holidays in the sunny Canary Islands and the New Year under palm trees. I can’t even believe that five weeks have already passed, it seems like they just arrived … But it’s time to return to Bergen, to work.
Until new trips!!!
