Golf in Gran Canaria
The ideal climatic conditions make Gran Canaria the ideal place for golfers to practice their favorite sport 365 days a year. An added bonus is that most of the golf courses on the island are new, modern courses designed with the most demanding golfers in mind.
Gran Canaria currently has 8 golf courses, all designed by the most prestigious international golf course designers. Experts rank many of these courses as some of the best in Spain.
Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas:
Founded in 1891 by British expatriates, the Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas (Las Palmas Royal Golf Club) is the oldest golf course in all of Spain. This golf course, located south of Pico de Bandama, offers extraordinary views of the Caldera de Bandama, a picturesque volcanic crater.
Designed by Mackenzie Ross, this golf course features 18 holes (par 71), two putting greens, a practice tee and pitching green, a golf shop, a club rental service, a restaurant and an excellent wine cellar. There are also tennis courts, a horse riding area and a swimming pool.
Location: Carretera de Bandama s/n 35380 Santa Brígida.
Las Palmeras Golf:
This 18-hole (par 54) golf course was designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido and opened in 2006. Las Palmeras Course is conveniently located in the city center with views of Canteras Beach and the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
The area includes a 1000 sq. m. m, as well as a significant area for chipping. A playground and a children’s room will be useful for those who come here with children. There is also a snack bar, a restaurant and a terrace.
Location: Avenida Doctor Alfonso Chiscano Díaz s/n – Las Palmas
El Cortijo de Campo:
The course has hosted important international championships and is also the venue for the Peugeot Oki Tour and the Spanish Professional Championships for women and senior players. Designed by Blake Sterling (Lead Design Pete Dai) and Marco Martin, the course features 18 holes (par 72) and fast greens. With up to six tee marks per hole, there is plenty of variety and a reasonable level of difficulty. In addition, there is a golf school, driving range, chipping green, putting green and practice bunker, as well as a cart, bag and club rental service.

Oasis Golf:
Experts say that this is an 18-hole golf course (par 54 ) is a miniature recreation of America’s famous golf courses and is destined to become one of the best in the world. Several obstacles, such as picturesque lakes and sand bunkers, form a wonderful contrast to the lush greenery of the field. The only floodlit golf course in Gran Canaria, Oasis Golf gives visitors the opportunity to play also at night, when the air temperature – especially in summer – is more favorable. In addition, there is a golf shop, restaurant, golf bag and club rental, and a children’s room.
Location: Autopista del Sur G.C. 1 / Km 6.4 – Telde (Autopista del Sur G.K. 1, Km 6.4 – Telde)
Maspalomas Golf:
When Mackenzie Ross came to design this golf course, he took into account dunes surrounding it. As a result Maspalomas Golf offers you an extremely long and even course with elongated and wide lanes. Even on the hottest days, the proximity of the sea and the soft breezes cooled by the trade winds will make your visit to this golf course very pleasant and simply unforgettable.
This 18-hole (par 73) golf course has hosted several prestigious international championships. There are practice greens, driving ranges, instructors, cart, golf bag and club rentals, shops, restaurants and bars to grab a bite to eat.
Location: Avda. Touroperador Neckermann – Maspalomas
Salobre Golf & Resort:
Salobre Golf , one of the newest golf clubs in Gran Canaria, enjoys a picturesque location among gorges and volcanic landscapes typical of for the southern part of the island. Indeed, the abundant vegetation of the golf course forms a striking contrast with the surrounding countryside.
Designed by Roland Fauré, the 18-hole (par 71) Salobre Sur (southern) course is an interesting and challenging course that stretches for 6 km. The more intricate Salobre Norte (“northern”), also known as the Beast Course, designed by Ron Kirby, has 18 holes, but par 72. The complex includes a golf school, driving ranges, driving range, putting green, club rental , hydromassage, golf shop and restaurant with terrace.
Location: Autopista Gran Canaria 1 / Km 53 – Urbanización El Salobre – Maspalomas Mogan municipality, in the southern part of the island, Anfi Tauro Golf awaits you. This club has a delightful location and features a 9-hole (par 27) pitch and putt golf course, opened in 2001, as well as a newer 18-hole course (par 72). In addition to the putting green and driving ranges, there is a café and a driving range on site.
Location: Barranco del Lechugal, Valle de Tauro s/n – Mogán
Golf Meloneras:
This is a beautiful golf course running along Meloneras Bay in the south of the island, it was designed by Ron Kirby. Nine of the 18 holes (par 71) offer breathtaking mountain views, while 9 others face the ocean. The design of the course is very attractive, the holes are arranged in ascending order of difficulty.
