So the actual park is closed (Covid I guess) but there was someone selling bird food (grounded corn) and we had a blast! We had so much fun we came back to the park the following week. A must have for children!

Really cool to see all of the pigeons and how they anxiously await food. If you are so bold as to buy the food from the street vendors. You may want to not involve your young ones. I saw a lady with her 3 yr old open the food bag. The birds immediately went and fought for the bag, and her son freaked out.

I think I lost count of the amount of food trucks around. If you love grab and go authentic Puerto Rican food the park has it all. There are benches to rest on and eat. There is also an area of the park to feed pigeons (best experience EVER!!!)

My kids spent the longest time here. You can buy food for the birds and they come right up to you & eat out of your hand. There is a bar right next to the park so you can walk in & grab a drink while your kids run around feeding the birds. It was beautiful though. The views & gorgeous & you’re in the heart of San Juan

Bird seed makes all the difference. I have visited this park multiple times. On my most recent visit it was closed for fence painting. All the birds were in the street and we fed them with the provided bird seed. All my kids ages 1-10 loved feeding the birds.

This place is amazing! I been out from the island for 12 years and is incredible how they fight to re open it ! This is part of our culture ! Im glad that my kids were able to enjoy it too.

Our family just happened to stumble upon this park and we’re so glad we did! The pigeons will swarm around visitors, with or without food. Just keep your arm out and with some patience there will be a couple pigeons landing on you within minutes. There are even some coffee shops, bars and restaurants right around the block.

Love how they now have healthy bird food and not the regular corn or peas as sold before. $2 for a small paper bag.
Great place for kids and photo shots. Great bay views as well.

Fresh popsicle and you can really taste the ingredients. I had the coconut strawberry. You get to choose toppings for your popsicle but I decided to just have it as it is. A little expensive, about $5 but worth it as this is a unique experience.

It was really fun, there were LOTS of birds, if they peck you it doesn’t really hurt but the birds rarely peck you only if you have the corn in the hand(they give it to you in a bag) so you don’t have to worry about that and u can buy corn for the birds there , you don’t have to go far for it.

We make it a point to visit this site everytime we’re in PR because the children must chase the pigeons! It’s always a good time watching the birds and watching people scream, duck and dodge the birds! LOL! Along with the birds, there’s a great view of the ocean. You can see for miles!

I’m just going to come out snd say it, “I hate pigeons!”, I think of them as rats with wings and I don’t want to have anything to do with them. If your like me AVOID THIS PARK! On the other hand, if you like pigeons your going to LOVE this park. Buy some veterinarian formulated bird seed (I’m not kidding, 14 grain, specially created for the pigeons) and place some in your open hand, within seconds you’ll be covered with birds, they’ll land on your arms, head, etc. You’ve been warned!

  • 4David S.

It was a hot day in San Juan, and the park was a nice, shady diversion from the tight streets within the old fort. I found the whole pigeon park area to be slightly gross but pretty interesting, but it is a separate area from the main park and easily avoided if too many pigeons in one small area isn’t your cuppa.
I thought I might get yelled at by the police for jumping up trying to grab a seed pod off a tree to inspect it, but I ended up watching a slightly overweight cop jumping for seeds when I came down empty handed. My new friend…
There are some lovely, cool shaded areas, and a number of amazing trees; well worth a visit when wandering the old city.

Historic area downtown Old San Juan
Nice weather today . Local vendors, cobblestone streets next to old Spanish Forts. Took a $10.
30 minute boat ride tour in harbor.
Worth every penny. I can see the cruise boats come in walking Distance. Local foods everywhere.
    Great Day Trip

Very unique place. Has an amazing view that is great for pictures. The birds can be a bit overwhelming so I wouldn’t recommend no lingering for to long. But you can get some great photos while you’re there. The area is somewhat hidden which makes it even better. It’s also directly across from some really good eating spots. A must see if you’re visiting Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I had come here once as a small child,so this was a totally new exprience for me. The amount of pigeons…it looks like its a carpet of them..so its amazing to see. You can feed them but it kind of creates a chaos,so its up to the person,as soon as they see food they come in flying.
