    Outstanding beach

Combate beach is one of the best 5 beaches in all of P. R. The clear and calm waters make it an ideal place to relax. The west coast has Playa Sucia, Combate beach and Buye beach that make a fantastic trio.

    Absolutely beautiful!

Warm, clear waters. Even though the ferry and taxi areas were full, the beach was not very crowded and there was tons of space to pick from at the beach. They rent umbrellas but very limited stock. There are a couple of food stands with inexpensive options (cash at one and credit at the other).
Seaweed at the shore but not a problem in the water. Such an amazing experience and view.

Nice beach, off the beaten path

This was a nice beach day, however we would not have found it without GPS. There is a parking lot which charges $5 to park. There is also a $1 fee to use the restroom. It is a popular beach as it was very busy the day we went. We walked further down the beach to have an area for ourselves.

    Nice beach for body surfing

We enjoyed this beach very much. The waves were great and not too strong. My husband and 11 year old son body surfed most of the day. The beach sand was nice and no rocks. Our belongings felt safe on the beach when we were swimming. After swimming we walked to Tamboo and had drinks and a nice meal.

    Lovely annoying buzz 🐝

    2 things I didn’t like and to be cautioned of ;

A because the trashbins there were bees it was an experience to see them I. A finished cup of Tennessee honey jack Daniel’s that my husband had finished and they drunkly flew away and came back. They came with a bunch of them

The docks you had to jump down and climb up with no stepping stones or stairs on either side of the connecting beach with the connecting muddy road to the car

The water was beautiful and clear with sand bar leading into the water I stayed in for hours and I tanned and fed the birds so overall lovely

One of my favorite beaches in Vieques

I loved this beach. It has crystal blue waters and plenty of palm trees and gazebos around it for shade. You need a car, preferably a Jeep or SUV to get here. The road to get to Chiva is unpaved (gravel). On your way there, you’ll see a few numbered ‘coves’ along your right side. You can park in any of them to enter the beach. My favorite is #9.

Stunning, almost private beach I’d love to visit again sometime. we took the ferry from San Juan and spent the night on the island. I wish we had allocated more time. We visited several beaches, the tiny Museum in town, It’s a Beautiful island With beautiful Horses running the island and beaches. I’m glad the US Navy was finally pushed out it’s sad to know the damage they did to the island.

Long stretch of beach and nice view of the lighthouse

We parked once we saw an available spot then realized there is a parking lot even closer. At least this gave us an opportunity to walk by the wetlands and see interesting birds on the water.

The name of the beach means dirty beach but it’s not dirty. Apparently it got its name from the seaweed. It’s a nice long expanse of beach with a view of the lighthouse. Many family and friend groups were there when we visited. I would recommend to groups and would visit again the next time we visit PR!

Great snorkeling – easy place to access the coral and reef

This area in Rincon does not seem to have many easy places to access the water without scary rocks on shore full of dangerous sea urchins. But Steps Beach has a sandy bottom area that makes it easy to access this snorkeling area. We so so many fish, a sea turtle and just generally enjoyed swimming around for a few hours. Parking is limited – get there early on a weekend day!

    Beach With Manatees

Jobos beach is very popular so best to go during the week. The rocks and spray from the water are pretty. The boardwalk starts right there. We watched lizzards, birds, colorful fish, and manatees. It has shade from palm trees. Good swimming beach for children .

    Worth the hike!

I would highly recommend this hike. It was about 20 minutes through the woods. Lots of exposed roots and some climbing on rocks. I would recommend sneakers, hiking shoes or water shoes. I am a novice hiker and I didn’t find it difficult, just a little tricky. You really need to pay attention to the ground so you don’t trip or hit your head on a branch.
After you get through the woods and hit the beach you can continue quite a ways down the beach. You have to head back towards the woods a bit to go further, but you head right back down towards the beach.
Once you hit the beach it’s really beautiful. Lots of rock formations to explore. I wouldn’t say you should swim, the waves looked rough and there could be powerful under currents. However, there are plenty of places to wade in shallow calm water. We saw lots of people just sitting in the water enjoying the sun and peace.
We didn’t wear our suits and wish we did. Also, bring plenty of water.
We were there in the afternoon. We passed plenty of hikers, but it did not feel crowded. I would highly recommend. Definitely not for children under maybe 9 or 10? Enjoy!

    Family Friendly and Busy

If there’s one thing I can say about the beaches in Puerto Rico it’s that they all seem very family friendly, clean and the locals seem to truly enjoy them. This one is no exception. We went on a Friday evening for dinner at one of the kiosks and that was just about the time that the party was getting started! Made for great people watching while we enjoyed our meal.

I’m shocked!!

Aug 2022 • Couples

I’ve given this a 5/5 purely because of the amount of water. Tbh, I wasn’t expecting water because every other beach I have been in Europe has had zero water!! Definitely recommend if you want a beach with water, but if you are like my partner and like beaches with no water, give this one a miss. 💧💧💧

A beautiful bay with golden sand & clear blue sea water !!!

Jul 2022 • Couples

We’re in Puerto Rico at the moment on a two week break. The jewel in the crown is this beautiful golden beach with crystal clear water.Lots of people use it in the day. And at 6/ 7pm all the locals go down to the beach with there families, lots of drinks & food & the families range from the very young to the very old. The sea is at its warmest & there’s hardly any tourist at that time. Also on the right hand side in the day is lots of different water sports to suit all pockets & the glass bottom boat that goes out every 30 minutes from early morning until 6pm. which suits the none sun bathers on the beach. In the tourist part of the day there 5/6 cafe bars open at the back on the beach, who sell food, drinks, ice creams etc. there also a few spar supermarkets to help with any thing you need for the beach or when you leave. So drag your selfs away from the pools & have hours of fun & relaxation on Puerto Rico beach & it won’t cost you a penny for a great day out !!!

Home from home like Clacton

May 2022 • Couples

It reminded me of Clacton, masses of concrete, lots of cheap and gaudy English pub type bars and restaurants, the whiff of sewage and a cheap / tacky vibe.. for people who haven’t got much money and want to sit on a sun lounger all day and drink pints of cheap beer by night.Nothing authentically Spanish here, wouldn’t come back to this area

Beautiful beach

Mar 2022 • Friends

Such a beautiful beach, area, felt safe and enjoyed ourselves. Cheap parking too. Lots of places to eat nearby, a short walk from a McDonald’s if desperate and other areas. We had such a nice time. Excursion places and can catch a ferry as a short boat tour that’s what we did. Sand was so clean and nice. We really had a nice time. Would highly recommend. The beach was an hour away from our villa so only visited the once!

    • Municipal beach. Do not be shy with your lifts and stains 12, zoom. Gorgeous sand, a lot of people, not a very convenient entrance to the water. Near supermarkets and many cafes

    • The beach is amazing the whole place is washed down at night its spotless and everyone is very nice

    • Very nice and clean beach/coast.Much better style/taste than Playa the Ingles, where we stayed full of crap tourist trap restaurants.Unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to try nearby restaurants.

    • Nice beach to chill, near the harbor and bars/restaurants. If you wanna dive, try the Top Diving scuba club, at 50m. 🙂

    • Try Pizzacota for great food – its on the upper level and is a bit out of the way but well worth it.

    • Great location and really nice place to spend your vacation here..

    • Small gulf and pretty mountain view.

    • Don’t eat on the beach. Go to Puerta Escala at the harbor (5 min walk).

    • El Clima durante todo el año los supera a todos.

    • Se ci state il primo dell’anno allora fate il bagno, come tutti gli altri giorni 🌴🌞😉

    • Comparing whit Amadores beach water is much more cleaner here. But busy still the same.

    • Increíble, repetiría mil veces👌

    • Very vibrant

    • The beach looks nice, but it’s an artificial nightmare. It’s way too crowded.

    • beautifull beach and a blue sea.
