Amazing view of the marina. 2 minutes walk to thebeach. 10 mins from the centre which is perfect!! Reception staff are amazing and so nice. Carmen the lady over the poolside bar was brilliant. She goes that extra mile for everyone. The hotel is very lucky to have staff members like that. Room was good. Cheap and cheerful and so comfy! Pool is spotless! Def staying there again!
They don’t have any free wifi thats all!

The location was great the pool was fab & the staff were friendly.
The restaurant was closed the entire trip & the shop also closed at 4.p.m every day , we stayed in the smaller block which was very noisy as they are nearly on the main road so if you left a door or window open it was impossible to sleep.

The female receptionist did not appear to be very competent, overcharged me for the safe, gave me the wrong e mail address and although reception was supposed to close at 1 pm and reopen at 4pm when she was on duty it often did not reopen until 6 or 7pm, I found this inconvenient if I required her to phone me a taxi

The view of the habour and beach was stunning. The pool area was modern clean .And relaxing Restroom had books to read in different languages.
Noise from road traffic could do with treble glaze windows. Apartments a little dated in decor .but clean. Cooker very very slow. If one needed a cup of coffee or tea. Would have to wait 1/2an hour for 2cups of water to boil..there was no wi fi available to clients..on first level of resort 170 steps

The climate of Puerto Rico is maritime tropical, mild with slight seasonal temperature fluctuations: in the southern part the temperature is slightly higher than in the north, and in the central mountainous it is always cooler than on the rest of the island.
The average annual temperature is + 28 °C. The hurricane season lasts between June and November.
History
During his second expedition to the New World in 1493, Christopher Columbus declared the Puerto Rico archipelago the property of the Spanish crown. The indigenous population, the Taino Indians, were enslaved, and as a result of infectious diseases introduced by Europeans, they practically disappeared from the face of the earth. Spain ruled Puerto Rico for over 400 years, despite attempts by France, the Netherlands and England to take over the island.
As a result of the Spanish-American War of 1898, Spain ceded the island to the United States. Currently, Puerto Rico has a republican form of government under the jurisdiction of the United States. The chief executive of the island is the governor, and the head of state is the President of the United States. Puerto Rico is a US territory, not a state, and since 1917 all Puerto Ricans are American citizens.
The nature of relations with the United States is at the center of the island’s lively internal political life.
The registered four political parties have been debating among themselves for many years whether Puerto Rico should remain an American territory, become a full-fledged US state, or become an independent state.
The capital of Puerto Rico, the city of San Juan, was founded by the Spanish colonialists in 1521. It is not only the oldest city in the United States founded by Europeans, but also almost the oldest European city in Latin America, in second place after Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Unlike neighboring islands, Old San Juan has been perfectly preserved in its original form thanks to the efforts of local cultural figures who have achieved a ban on new buildings and demanded that any restoration work, even in private mansions, be coordinated with the local Institute of Culture.
Currently, Puerto Rico has become a major tourist center with a developed infrastructure.
Culture and Celebrations
Contemporary Puerto Rican culture is a bizarre mixture of African, Taino, Spanish and North American traditions.
The culture of the Taino, the indigenous population of the island, determined the important role of women in society: it was in the Taino tribes that the leaders, “cacique”, traditionally chose both men and women.
Puerto Rico was discovered by Columbus in 1493, and for four centuries, the Spanish flag flew here, although both the English (Sir Francis Drake) and the Dutch flotillas disputed the right to the island. Spain gave Puerto Rico its language, the Catholic religion and a significant share of cultural values and traditions. As a result of the Spanish-American War, the island was ceded to the United States in 1898. America added a university education system (there are five universities on the island), the habit of celebrating federal holidays, as well as English, which, along with Spanish, is fluently spoken by the entire educated population.
The center of the island’s cultural life is undoubtedly music. Residents of Puerto Rico are distinguished by their extraordinary musicality and sense of rhythm.
Without folk percussion instruments, which are owned by everyone from young to old, neither political demonstrations nor corporate New Year’s parties can do.
The fusion of cultures is also reflected in the diversity of the national music of Puerto Rico, where three main genres are noted: “bomb”, which came from Africa, “captivity”, the origins of which can be traced as early as the beginning of the 20th century in the south of the island, and “seis”, which in translated from Spanish means “six” – just as many couples perform this traditional Spanish dance with a guitar or guiro. The folklore tradition of bomba and captivity, with pronounced African roots, found its continuation in the tropical rhythm of salsa, which has become fashionable among European youth.
If the question about the peculiarities of the national character is asked by the inhabitants of the island, in addition to universal musicality, two striking features are invariably mentioned. Firstly, it is the cordial hospitality with which foreign guests are met here, sincere curiosity for other cultures and an open, tolerant attitude towards different traditions.
Secondly, Puerto Ricans know how to enjoy life, and this state of mind is contagious: they don’t run anywhere, they honor holiday traditions and family ties, they love to eat well and have fun.
The cultural life of Puerto Rico is rich and varied: the most interesting architectural ensembles of old San Juan, and art galleries, which San Juan is especially rich in, which exhibit both pre-Columbian art and paintings by contemporary artists, such as like Angel Botelho, who died in 1986.
But the most vivid impressions of the cultural life of Puerto Rico you get by visiting at least one of the many festivals and celebrations, such as the festival on the street. San Sebastian in January, Carnival in Ponce in February-March, Classical Music Festival. Pablo Casals in February-March, the Taste of Roma Festival and the April Taste of Puerto Rico Festival in San Juan, the Heineken Jazz Festival in San Juan or the Puerto Rico Salsa Congress in San Juan in July, where dancers from of the whole world.

Nature has given Puerto Rico summer all year round, gentle sea, green mountains, underground caves, tropical bushes and a cactus forest, the so-called Guanica Dry Forest, declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UN.
Extraordinary lagoons lurk along the Caribbean coast, glowing with neon blue at night. In addition to the most vibrant bioluminescent lagoon, Mosquito Bay on the island of Vieques, this extraordinary natural phenomenon is found in Las Croabas, near Fajardo, and also in southwestern Puerto Rico. The water glows because of single-celled organisms, “dinoflagellates”, which react to the movement of water with a bluish light.
Thanks to its mild tropical climate with an average annual temperature of 27 C, the island is home to several thousand species of tropical plants, including ceiba quinata, breadfruit, coconut palms, coffee, pineapple, papaya, avocado, mango and cassava.
El Yunque Rainforest, shortlisted for the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, is known for its waterfalls and intricate hiking trails.
Here you will learn to distinguish the singing of the tiny tropical frog “koki”, which has become a symbol of the island thanks to its melodic night arias.
Large mammals do not live in Puerto Rico, but you will definitely see a lot of lizards, and possibly an iguana. Mongooses were brought to the island to control rats on sugar cane plantations. In addition to the seventeen species of coca frog, the Puerto Rican parrot is unique, bright green in color with a red head and blue wings, which can only be found in a few corners of the rainforest. The coastal waters of the island abound with fish such as tuna, barracuda, Spanish mackerel, mullet, king fish croaker, as well as lobsters and oysters.
The combination of limestone rocks and tropical rainfall has given Puerto Rico an extensive network of caves. Excursions in the Park of the Caves near Arecibo allow you to look into the world of stalactites and bats.
The uninhabited island of Caja de Muerte, rich in marine life, located in the south of Puerto Rico is a great place for snorkeling.
You can get to the island by ferry from Ponce. And on the west coast, in Rincon, from the site of the lighthouse you can see humpback whales that come here every winter to mate.
Nautical
Sailing enthusiasts or those who want to take the breeze on a boat can hire a yacht with an experienced skipper for a few days. For those who are ready to sail under their own sail, there are more than 20 marinas on the island.
Snorkeling for colorful fish or starfish is possible almost anywhere on the island, but the most interesting underwater world opens up on the uninhabited islands of Palomino and Icacos, which can be reached by catamaran from the city of Fajardo. The Desecheo Islet and the La Pared underwater wall, stretching from Guanica to La Parguera, will not disappoint the most discerning diver, and special excursions are organized for lovers of deep-sea fishing at the Club Nautica in San Juan.
Rincón, a small town on the west coast of Puerto Rico, has been a mecca for surfers from all over the world since the 1960s, when the world championship in this sport was held here.
Schools and instructors in windsurfing and kitesurfing will help realize the dream of an active traveler, and for those who like to relax, parasailing is offered – flying on a parachute tied to a boat. Without much physical effort, you will get an adrenaline rush looking at the island from the height of a ten-story building.
