The political status of Puerto Rico on the world map is far from easy, but a vacation in these Caribbean islands is worth it to fly across the ocean and overcome other difficulties associated with entering US-controlled territory. A holiday in any Puerto Rico resort is a warm sea, magnificent landscapes and an amazing atmosphere of complete relaxation, which only the blessed Caribbean can give the traveler.

For or against?

Whether you’re dreaming of thrilling wavefront surfing, a perfect bronze tan, or perfect hotel views, Puerto Rico’s resorts are the place to be. However, a flight to the Caribbean archipelago can only be performed under certain conditions:

  • As a US-controlled territory, Puerto Rico will require an entry visa to the States in the traveler’s passport and compliance with all border and customs requirements, as well as when crossing the American border.
  • There is no direct flight to the islands from Moscow, and therefore you will have to look for a flight with a connection.
  • The cost of a tour to the resorts of Puerto Rico will not seem democratic – safe hotels here are not cheap, and in inexpensive ones no one will guarantee the absolute safety of guests’ belongings. By the way, the crime rate on the islands outside the resort is quite high, unlike neighboring Cuba or the Dominican Republic.

Heavenly corners

Wealthy American visa holders in their passports are quite satisfied with their holidays on the beaches of Puerto Rico. Most of the sunbathing and swimming areas here have received the prestigious Blue Flag certification for cleanliness and sustainability. Active recreation and some excursion programs are especially popular on the islands:

  • A dozen and a half golf courses near the capital do honor to any competition, even at a prestigious level. Here you can meet famous athletes and even movie stars who are passionate about this beautiful sport.
  • Diving and snorkelling is an important part of a beach holiday in the Puerto Rico resort of Fajardo. The diversity of the underwater world of the Caribbean Sea allows you to spend exciting hours with scuba diving, and you can take the first dive lessons here in the training centers.
