Artist Statement Amante della bella vita, from early childhood has acquired from his teacher Pre-K, the passion for art and drawing. Making his first abstract drawing in crayon, leaving surprised at his teacher, how to use the mixture of colors to create the impression of a fish under water with bubbles coming out of the mouth of the fish. His parents are Helga and Jose A. Luzunaris Reyes, his father a teacher of industrial arts denotes the legacy of art that appeared very early in the child through a family history of musicians and artists.

While his 3-year course of secondary from 1979 to 1982, was a pupil of the master of arts and painting, Professor BIGIO.

In the year 1982, met his wife BEATRIZ E. AYALA GARCIA, daughter of the late Spanish actor and director, JOSE A. Garcia Escudero, better known by his stage name, PEPE Escudero, who directed plays live as a “FARCE”, “THE IDIOT”, “THE CRIME OF THE MILL,” “PASSION, DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST,” among others. His wife BEATRIZ was pointer of the group, with an ability to dictate the script without being heard by the public. The young artist working as chairman of the group and artistic lighting.

Continuing with the passion for art finish high school in basic art and finished a course in carpentry for 3 years.

In 1984, after graduating from high school decided to try out, studying a course in draftsman, with Professor Correa, learning the art of perspective. He knows his first job as a secular operator of the station which controls the routes of taxis from the village of Humacao, Puerto Rico.

In 1986, after graduating from the school draftsman, did several jobs for one of the most respected draftsmen of the courtyard, the late Mr. CARROMERO, consultant engineers in all parts of Puerto Rico. Then, worked for the Department of Transportation and Public Works of the Government of Puerto Rico as a draftsman.

In 1987, having learned well from her art teacher, the technique of screenprinting, working for different companies in Puerto Rico and the United States as; Estampados AZ, Juston Mills. Rainbow Graphics and others. But all this, did not allow the young artist go away from what he always have done, art. At his young age he was chosen by the council of residents Dr. Palou apartments in Humacao, P.R. to create the shield that would identify the residential, registering at the State Department as the creator of the shield.

For a long time was doing informal art, such as murals, signs, models for school work and another number of jobs. Also, a member of a Christian mimes group, being one of the main mime of the group, thereby exposing the art in different facets through almost all of Puerto Rico. Working a short time as a clown under the name “Garabato”.

But it was the year 2006, encouraged by his wife Beatriz, he left his art out taking it to another level. Making his first piece in acrylic on canvas, where he name it, “peace and hope.” Although his first piece was landscaper, but his attraction to abstract art is what fascinates him most, and ensures that when you create a work, he compared to the value that a mother feels for her son who carries in her womb until birth.

His second piece and the first oil, the artist name, “MY MEMORIES OF YESTERDAY.” This piece won a privileged position in an exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Cultural Center of Humacao, in honor of Dr. Osiris Delgado, Puerto Rican artist and writer, to be held at the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao, P. R. (CUH).

Some interesting facts of the artist occur in 1997, where he earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice at the University of John Jay College Of New York, graduating with the rank of police officer in Puerto Rico and currently serves the same.

El cenzontle común o sinsonte norteño (Mimus polyglottos) es una especie de ave paseriforme de la familia Mimidae nativa de América del Norte, América Central y el Caribe. Los ejemplares adultos son grises por la parte superior del cuerpo, con ojos de un amarillo pálido y pico negro mínimamente curvo. La cola es de color oscuro con los bordes blancos, y las patas largas y negras. Las alas muestran finas líneas blancas, y durante el vuelo dejan ver manchas, también blancas en las alas y dos franjas blancas longitudinales en la cola. Se caracterizan por imitar sonidos de otros animales.

Sus hábitats de reproducción son las zonas donde se mezclan áreas abiertas y arbustos densos, desde el sur de Canadá hasta México y Cuba. En Puerto Rico se le conoce como ruiseñor. Construyen nidos de ramas en arbustos o árboles de gran follaje, que defienden agresivamente del ataque de otras aves o animales, incluyendo a los humanos. Cuando un depredador es muy persistente, los cenzontles de territorios cercanos se reúnen mediante una llamada distintiva, y juntos atacan al agresor. Otras aves se juntan para observar cómo estos pájaros molestan al intruso. Por lo general los sinsontes son residentes permanentes; sin embargo las aves del norte emigran al sur durante la época de clima áspero. En Europa existe como una rareza extrema.

Comen principalmente insectos y bayas, y mientras lo hacen extienden frecuentemente las alas en un movimiento de dos etapas para mostrar sus manchas blancas, lo que sirve como una exhibición territorial. Se alimentan tanto en el suelo como en la vegetación; y también vuelan en picado para capturar su comida.

Comportamiento[editar]

Sonido

Este tipo de ave imita las llamadas de otras aves, sonidos animales e incluso ruidos de máquinas. Se encuentra frecuentemente en áreas urbanas. Llaman frecuentemente durante las noches y pueden continuar a lo largo de todo el año con excepción a la estación de la muda, a fines del verano. Los cenzontles normalmente cantan más fuerte en el crepúsculo de la mañana cuando el Sol está sobre el horizonte. Cuando inician un canto en una percha alta vuelan varios metros en forma circular con sus alas extendidas para mostrar sus manchas blancas, luego aterrizan en la percha sin romper la nota. Lo cual sirve como una exhibición territorial.

Los cenzontles tienen una fuerte preferencia por ciertos árboles, tales como el arce, el liquidambar y el platanero (Platanus). Por lo general evitan árboles de pino. En áreas urbanas, los cenzontles raramente bajan a la tierra, a diferencia de la mayoría de otros pájaros. También, tienen una preferencia por lugares altos, tales como las ramas más altas de los árboles y las cimas de los postes del teléfono.

Raphael: 1967 Eurovision entry from Spain

Miguel Rafael Martos Sánchez (born May 5, 1943 in Linares, Spain), often simply referred to as Rafael, is an internationally renowned Spanish singer, film and stage actor.

A true pioneer of modern Spanish music! His deep and beautiful voice has always attracted people from all over the world for more than five decades.

Childhood

Rafael was born on May 5, 1943, he was originally called “El Ruizenor de Linares”, but he is better known as “El Niño”. His family moved to Madrid when he was nine months old and started singing when he was only three years old.

He joined the children’s choir at the age of four. When he was 9 years old, he was recognized as the best children’s voice in Europe at a competition in Salzburg, Austria. It is said that two of his idols growing up and would like to record tracks with them were American singer Elvis Presley and French diva Edith Piaf.

Professional career

Rafael started his professional career by signing with the Dutch label Philips. His first singles were “Te voy a contar mi vida” and “A pesar de todo”. Rafael adopted his distinctive singing style from the very beginning; he is known for performing each of his songs on stage, emphasizing each song with his gestures to high dramatic effect.

It is not unusual for Raphael to open up to the public and localize the song depending on the place where he sings. For example, put on Latin American costumes and dance folk dances or become a bullfighter for a while. He also possesses a wide vocal range, which he often used early in his career.

When he was nineteen he won many awards at the famous International Song Festival in Benidorm, Spain, 1962, with the songs: “Llevan”, “Inmensidad” and “Tu Conciencia”. After a short relationship with the Barclay label, which released only one EP, he signed with the Hispavox record label.

In 1966 and 1967 he represented Spain at the XII and XIII Eurovision Song Contest in Luxembourg singing “Yo soy aquél” and “Hablemos del amor”. He failed to make it into the top three, but still managed to break into the top 10.

This was the first time Spain had achieved a high place in the competition, leaving the door open for victory the following year, as in 1968 Spain became No. 1 with the song “ La, la, la.” This served as a turning point in Raphael’s career, making him an international star. He traveled and performed all over the world.

Especially in Europe, Latin America, Puerto Rico, USA, Russia and Japan. Songs such as “Yo soy aquel” (his original song), “Cuando tú no estás”, “Mi gran noche”, “Digan lo que digan”, “Tema de amor”, “Estuve enamorado” and “Desde aquel día cemented his status as a major international singing star.

Latin American popularity

As Rafael became successful in Latin America, he got into the habit of recording Latin American tracks, including “Huapango torero”, “Sandunga” and “Llorona”; they were hits in Mexico.

In 1975, Rafael started his own successful program on Spanish television called El Mundo de Rafael, where he sang with international stars. He also had a radio program where he and his wife spoke to and interviewed prominent personalities.

He has also acted in soap operas, starting with the Mexican play “Donde termina el camino” in the spring of 1978, and then in other countries such as Peru and Chile.

Rafael did well at the beginning of 1980s with songs like “é Qué tal te va sin mí?”, “Como yo te amo”, “En carne viva” and “Estar enamorado”. In 1984 and 1985 he recorded two albums with songs written by José Luis Perales such as “Ámame”, “Yo sigo siendo aquel”, “Dile que vuelva”, “Y… Cómo es él” and “Estoy llorando hoy por ti » ,

In 1987 he left Hispavox and signed with Columbia (now Sony Music), where he again recorded songs written by Roberto Livi such as “Toco madera” and “Maravilloso corazón”. At 19In ’91 he had the hit “Escándalo” which took Spain, Latin America and Japan to number one.

In the late 1990s, after the termination of his contract with PolyGram, he returned to EMI. In 1998, the artist published the first part of his memoirs called “Y mañana qué”, starting from childhood and ending with marriage in 1972.

Personal life

July 14, 1972 he married an aristocrat, journalist and writer Natalia Figueroa, in Venice (Italy). They have three children: Jacobo, Alejandra and Manuel.

In terms of health, Rafael experienced a serious deterioration in 2003 when he developed liver problems, but everything worked out and he successfully recovered from the transplant. Since then, he has been an active organizer of organ donation.
