Thanks Elliot, I really had a great time. Ready to start my new job tomorrow. Thanks for showing me all those spots and for the great instruction – that session in the rain was awesome! Thanks also for the wonderful healthy food. Best to you the rest of the season in PR and hope to see you in the summer at LB. Kiss to Lucky.

about
Surf2Live
We had a great time. We’ve been surfing for decades and have been to Puerto Rico for the winters many times but our stay with Elliot in Aguadilla this year was by far the best experience we’ve had! Elliot showed us some of the best surf spots Puerto Rico has to offer and he always knew where to go depending on winds and swell direction and even where to eat and to relax and where to soak in the island’s natural beauty. His estate is minutes from the surf. Don’t go anywhere else, make this your next destination.
Things to know
57hours is committed to providing safe outdoor adventure experiences. We require all guides using our platform to have a COVID-19 safety plan and to make the details of that plan accessible to travelers. In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity.
We also expect clients to respect local regulations and take measures to protect themselves, guides and the communities they’re travelling to. For more information on COVID-19 measures in Puerto Rico, please refer to the Discover Puerto Rico websites.
Please contact us if you have any questions or require further information. We are happy to provide you with the most up-to-date information!

What’s not included:
- Transportation to Puerto Rico

No one expects you to swim like you’re in the Olympics, but you need to be able to keep your head above water and know how to tread.
You’ll feel much more comfortable in the ocean if you’re sure you can swim at least two lengths of a pool. Keep in mind that surfing is physically straining, like any sport, so you should prepare beforehand with stretching and light cardio. This way, you’ll be better equipped to handle what the ocean throws, and in a better position to ride the waves with ease.
This adventure is family-friendly! However, for kids who are not very good swimmers, we recommend a one-on-one private lesson. They will be kept in shallow water with the constant and complete attention of an expert surf instructor.
Surf lessons are recommended for anyone new to surfing.
The waves in Puerto Rico are ideal for first-timers. A surf instructor will teach you how to be safe, have fun and work toward standing up on your board. It’s all worth a bit of practice, we promise!
Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, water, snacks and good vibes — we’ll take care of the rest.
Group sizes and prices:
- For this group adventure, the max guest to guide ratio is 6:1.
- If joining alone, you’ll be placed with peers that share a similar level of experience.
- Cost is per person and it doesn’t decrease as the group grows.
Surfing in Puerto Rico can be arranged for bigger groups. Contact us prior to booking.
Min. age requirements:
- If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
- While there is not necessarily a minimum age to surf, there are minimum requirements, such as height and weight. Prior to booking, let us know the youngest ages in your party and we will let you know if it’s safe for them to get on the water.
- This adventure is family friendly!
If your group has surfers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.
To get to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, most people fly into San Juan International Airport, just 2 hours away. From there, you can rent a car or arrange transportation with your guides.
Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, your guide will suggest the best place to meet. Be sure to arrive about 15 minutes early, so you can check-in, put on a wetsuit, and start your lesson on time.

The Motosurfing.com team visited the Lift Foils factory in Puerto Rico
Traveling across America, we could not miss the opportunity to visit Puerto Rico, the place where some of the best electro-foils are made. Frankly, Nick, the founder of Lift Foils, has suggested that we come to Puerto Rico to test the first prototype before. But then it didn’t seem like a good idea, and we just made an order. Probably, our order was one of the first, we received our board after more than a year. Once every few months we contacted the company to find out how things were going and each time I received a rather detailed letter from Nick that everything is fine and even better than we can imagine, but a little more time is needed.
Needless to say, of course, we were visited by the thought that perhaps it was a mistake and we will never receive our e-foil. But we must pay tribute, Nick was very optimistic, answered immediately and we continued to wait. But what we got in the end exceeded all our expectations, the board is made superbly in every respect. It is both technologically advanced and excellent design, but as for riding, this is a different story. It immediately became clear that this is the best electric surf to date.
Yes, there is no such speed as on JetSurf, but this is the feeling of flying, sliding, moving in all planes of space. An amazing meditative process, like immersing yourself in Zen while surfing, because only after catching the balance do you begin to soar above the water, and this is primarily your inner balance.
But now about our visit to Puerto Rico
Arriving at the Aguadilla airport and breathing in the warm tropical air after the rather cold New York, it became clear that we were on a Caribbean island. We took a jeep with a removable roof and drove to our villa. There are a lot of iguanas on the road, unfortunately, many of them are crushed.
Puerto Rico is almost a separate Spanish-speaking state, but at the same time it is part of America. The island is not big, you can drive around it in 2 days. Beaches stretch all along the coast. There are not as many tourists as in Hawaii, and in any place where there are such beaches and waves, there are much more people. I would like to note that this is really a very quiet place. There are not many sights, the main and most interesting thing on the island is nature and, first of all, the ocean.
The whole island is imbued with the spirit of surfing, I think everyone who was born there has been surfing since childhood. For some reason, this place has not yet been chosen by crowds of tourists, as happened with Bali or Sri Lanka, probably because it is more difficult with a visa, more expensive, and just few people know about this island.
Production Lift Foils
And so, in fact, we are going to the factory and office where Lift Foils is located. Despite the fact that the company is marked on Google maps, this mark simply turns out to be a place on a deserted beach and we do not find any identification marks. Finding Lift Foils in reality is somewhat more difficult. When we finally found the factory and showroom, I couldn’t help but joke that it looked more like a cocaine factory than a surf factory. But in fact, as Nick himself explains, they do not need identification marks, they love silence and solitude. But, in fact, with the cost of a board of 12.5 thousand euros, they do not have many buyers among the local population and few people visit their production. So we were quite rare guests.
I already met Nick a week ago in Düsseldorf at the Boat Show. Lift Foils had a great booth there, very creatively designed as a hydrofoil of their e-foil model.
Nick told us that the plant is located on a family land that has been owned by his family for a long time. There is also a stable with Nick’s horses, and the production workshop is located literally on the ocean. Upon arrival, we couldn’t find Nick right away and were told that he might have gone surfing. I was surprised that at such a time. He can at any time – they answered us.
The whole plant is a large hangar where assembly takes place, there is also a warehouse and a showroom. Played by Dirty Heads. Several people are busy with their work.
Lift Foils have been making classic surf foils for several years now, so they have a great experience. They continue to make them to this day. The next day we agreed to take a ride on the e-foil and meet in the morning on the beach. Nick took some test boards. I must say this was my first experience of riding an electric foil in the ocean. The water was calm and the skiing was great. I already had some experience of riding foil in Russia. I must say there is nothing difficult in this, it just takes more practice.
My principle is this, I just get up and ride like a regular motosurfer without climbing on the wing. When I reach a steady speed, I simply move my center of gravity back and the board starts to rise. Then you need to catch the balance and try to make the board fly parallel to the water. There are small nuances in the position of the legs and body, but the main thing is balance.
I would like to wish Lift Foils success and as it is sung in the song Dirty Heads: Stand tall, it gets a little better
If you are interested in purchasing e-Foil in Russia, Israel or Cyprus, you can contact our company Motosurfing.com and we will help you to resolve all issues with the order and delivery!

They made me feel welcomed and the host was super nice and answered messages and phone calls quickly. The room smells wonderful, is beautifully decorated, bed is super confortable, a/c, TV, microwave, fridge, hot water, hair drier, everything worked excellently. They thought of many details to really make. you feel at home and that you are taken care of. The building is beautiful and clean, and the price is accesible.
