Audi: 10 interesting facts
1) The founder of the company Audi is August Horch. In the early 20th century he registered a trademark named Horch, however, by that time there was already a

Audi – one of the most recognizable in the world of automobile brands. Today, this German company belongs to the car concern Volkswagen.
Automobile plant Audi Automobil-Werke began its work in 1909.
The company was created after the departure of August Horch from the company
Horch, at that time a fairly well-known automaker.
And the company also inherited its company’s name from this brand, or rather from its founder. In translation from German Horch means “listen”, an approximate translation into
Latin of this word – Audi.
After the First World War, the enterprise faced significant difficulties, in 1920 it was abandoned by the founder, August Horch. Subsequently, it was decided to create a new
company, by combining the efforts of several manufacturers. The famous four Audi rings appeared in 1932, when four companies merged – Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer into one, which was named
Auto Union AG.
The company became quite successful and developed until the Second World War, when all production was transferred to military rails, and later most of the production capacity was bombed.
During the postwar years, production was restored and the development and production of many models of cars became very popular, including the famous Audi Quattro car, which put
Audi on a par with the leading automakers. In 1958, the company becomes the property of Daimler-Benz AG. And in 1964 became
part of the Volkswagen concern.

Most electrical consumers are connected to earth with brown wires.
For the correct connection of electrical equipment, their contacts are numbered.
For ease of reference, all electrical circuits on the wiring diagrams are arranged vertically and numbered.
The diagrams show a fuse and relay box at the top, bounded at the bottom by a horizontal line. The thin lines above it are the inner connections in the block.
The horizontal lines in the block numbered 30, 15, X and 31 are the internal connections of the block with power supplies and ground. Circuit 30 is constantly under battery voltage, circuit 15 is only when the ignition is on and is powered through the ignition switch. Circuit X is energized also when the ignition is on, but when the starter is turned on, it is de-energized. Circuit 31 is connected to ground.
There is a horizontal line at the bottom of the diagrams, which shows the ground connection.
The circled numbers near the intersection of the vertical chains with the horizontal ground line indicate the location of the ground points on the body.
The number in the white square at the end of the vertical chain indicates in which chain to look for the continuation of this wire. The colors of the wires in the diagrams correspond to the colors of the wires on the car. The number on each wire means the cross-sectional area of \u200b\u200bthe conductive core of the wire in square millimeters.
The number in the black square indicates the number of the relay in the fuse and relay box, the letter in the circle next to the wire indicates the permanent connection of the wires.
Internal connections (thin lines) – these connections are not wires, but they do carry electrical current. They make it possible to trace the path of current flow inside electrical equipment.
Terminal 15 – with the ignition on, it has battery voltage.
Position number of the relay – designates the relay, designates the number of the relay on the additional relay panel.

Element designation – allows you to find the name of the element represented by a graphic symbol in the list.
Wire color – matches the color of the wire in the car.
Contact designations – on the relay, control device and on the board or additional relay panel.
Alphanumeric designation at the connection points – determines the position of the wires in the connectors (M30az).
The numbers in the boxes – indicate the interruption of the circuit and set the number of the current track for continuing the circuit.
Alphanumeric designation – marks the detachable connection (T8a/7).

When looking for a failure of a particular circuit, first of all also check the quality of the contact connections of its electrical wiring. When disconnecting electrical connectors, try to pull only by their housings, and in no case by the wiring harness.
