For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
Special Tropical Weather Outlook issued to discuss the potential for 
subtropical development over the northwest Atlantic.
Northwestern Atlantic:
A non-tropical low pressure system centered over the northwestern 
Atlantic Ocean about 300 miles north of Bermuda is producing 
storm-force winds.   Although the cyclone is producing some 
thunderstorm activity near the center, it is embedded in a cold air 
mass with nearby frontal boundaries.  The low is expected to move 
northeastward today and northward tonight, bringing the system over 
much colder waters and across Atlantic Canada by early Tuesday.  
Therefore, it is unlikely that the low will transition to a 
subtropical or tropical cyclone.  Nevertheless, the system is 
expected to remain a strong non-tropical low during the next day or 
so, and additional information, including storm-force wind warnings, 
can be found in High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather 
Service.  
No additional Special Tropical Weather Outlooks are scheduled for 
this system.  Regularly scheduled Tropical Weather Outlooks will 
resume on May 15, 2023, while Special Tropical Weather Outlooks will 
be issued as necessary during the off-season.

AIK reached the coast of the United States in area of the city of Galveston in the state of Texas, where tens of thousands of people took refuge in their homes from the elements.

This is reported by “Lenta.Ru” with a link to the France Presse agency. According to the US National Weather Service, Galveston, which is located on an island south of Houston, was at the very center of the hurricane. Despite the fact that the city authorities demanded that residents evacuate, more than 20 thousand people, or almost 40% of the inhabitants of Galveston, decided to stay. In total, about a million people were evacuated from the disaster zone. Representatives of the US National Weather Service said that those who refused to leave and take shelter from the hurricane in one-two-story houses will face “certain death. ” Most of Galveston is now flooded. According to the local energy company CenterPoint Energy, more than 3 million people in the Houston metropolitan area have already been left without electricity. About a million people evacuated from the Texas coast without waiting for the elements to strike. Tuesday 9September, “Hayk” passed through the territory of Cuba, as a result of which four people were killed.
