Russian Post is the Russian national postal operator of the Russian Federation, whose customers can make domestic and international shipments of parcels and letters, as well as cash payments, utility bills, transfers to an account, sending letters to a personal email box and many other services. It has a network of more than 40,000 fixed and mobile post offices in 84 branches in the regions of Russia.

How to track a parcel, letter, parcel of the Russian Post?

The track number for tracking delivery allows you to track any registered shipment – parcel, international parcel, courier delivery, small packages, letters, parcels, postcards. Each such shipment has a track number for tracking delivery.
Simple shipments (those that are accepted from the sender without a receipt and handed over to the addressee without a receipt) cannot be tracked.

Find the track code (tracking number)

The tracking postal identifier is indicated on the receipt issued by the Russian Post when the parcel is delivered (For example: 41310092094885, RA336455545RU). If you are the recipient and you do not have a check, request a scanned copy of the receipt from the sender, or the tracking code itself.

Enter the tracking code for the delivery in the field above

The tracking number on our website can be entered with or without spaces.

Click the “Track the parcel” button

later.

How to track international shipments

You can track most international tracking numbers using the form above. You will see and know all the transit cities of the parcel movement and attachments during the delivery process. If the service does not track your number, then try using the website of the local postal service in the sender’s country.

How to decrypt the identifier of the registered postal item

Track tracking number can be in two formats:

  • internal Russian, consisting of 14 characters (numeric). An example of a tracking number for a parcel within Russia: 10881358006860;
  • international – 13 characters (alphanumeric code) are assigned in a special S10 format, for example: ZB030777986MN. According to the Universal Postal Union Technical Standard, only international registered mail items can be tracked, the track numbers of which begin with the letters R, C, E, V and L and may end with the last letters, for example, RU. Also, you can definitely track the parcels, the track numbers of which begin with the first letter Z.

Russian Post parcel tracking statuses

Postal items with track numbers starting with the letter Z are tracked according to a simplified scheme. Only 3 statuses are indicated for them:
1) accepted at the sender’s post office;
2) receipt of the item at the post office at the place of delivery;
3) delivery of the parcel to the recipient.

For regular, registered, express within Russia (of 14 digits) and international shipments, starting with the letters R, C, E, V and L, also containing numbers, while the processing status of the parcel can take on the following values:

Is it possible to track a postal parcel by last name, address, phone number?

You can track the departure of the Russian Post and international shipments only by the track number. Other data such as the recipient’s or sender’s shipping address, recipient’s last name, phone number, etc. – unsuitable. If there is no track, contact the sender, or periodically check the delivery of the parcel at the post office (you need a passport to receive it).

What should I do if the parcel is not tracked?

The most common situations we have encountered:

  • Status does not appear . This is possible if the parcel was sent recently and the information is not yet available and has not appeared in the system. For international shipments, for example, from the online store Aliexpress (aliexpress), joom (China), the start time for tracking delivery can be from 3 to 14 days from the date of dispatch, when the parcel was received at the local post office. If more than 14 days have passed since the shipment, and the tracking has not started, then you should contact the seller, you may demand a refund.
  • Status is not updated . It is possible that the delivery status of the cargo has not been updated for some technical reason and the package is already in the next status, or is ready to be received. The addressee needs to wait or check the availability of the goods at the post office.
  • The shipment is being exported , it has been transferred to the carrier for shipment between countries. At this stage, postal services do not have the ability to track the path of departure and, accordingly, reflect the information on their website. The export stage is not regulated in terms of time, as it depends on the workload, route, availability of flights. As soon as the shipment is taken over by the Russian Post service, the information should be updated and become available for tracking.

Accordingly, if the postal status of the parcel has not been updated for a long time, the parcel has not been delivered and received at the department (not handed over by the courier), then you need (if you wish) to apply for the search for the shipment in the following ways:

  • remotely, on the pochta. ru/claim page, with identity confirmation through the State Services portal;
  • apply for a wanted list by visiting the post office*. You can fill out the search form in advance and then take it with you:
    • for shipment within Russia https://www.pochta.ru/form?type=CLAIM_INTERNAL
    • for international mail https://www.pochta.ru/form?type=CLAIM_INTERNATIONAL
    • also in the department you will need a copy of the check issued at departure and a passport.

Pending review. You can get a response within 30 days for domestic shipments. Response time for international mail is 30 to 90 days

*You can find out the address, street, house and working hours of the post office, see the map, using the postal code indicated on this page. Enter the index and get information on the branch.
You can contact and ask questions to the Russian Post by calling the numbers listed on the Contacts page.

List of items prohibited for shipment: weapons, current banknotes and foreign currency, drugs, explosives, combustible substances and poisons, dairy and other perishable products.

What is the postal ID number

What is the postal ID number

Postal ID (or tracking number) is an individual departure code, consisting of a combination of letters and numbers. The postal identifier data is entered into a single accounting system, so subsequently it will be possible to track the postal item at each stage of the journey.

The postal identifier can be found on the receipt, which will be issued upon receipt of the parcel, package or letter (registered, with declared value).

Search by the number of the postal identifier of various postal items

Russian Post occupies a leading position in the delivery of goods, parcels, letters within the country and abroad. Tracking such mailings is very simple. It is enough to search by the number of the mail identifier.

Postal identifier is assigned to:

  • registered letters;
  • letters with declared value;
  • parcels;
  • parcels.

Ordinary items (regular letters) are not assigned numbers for identification, that is, it is impossible to check the letter by the postal identifier number. The sender either puts ordinary letters in the mailbox, or, having come to the post office, hands them over to the postal worker. This letter will be attached to the recipient’s home mailbox.

But a registered letter (sent with a declared value or with a notification) is assigned a unique number – a postal identifier. Similar identifiers are assigned to parcels and parcels.

How to check the postal ID number

You can do it in the check if you send the parcel. If the mail was sent to you, then its unique number is reported by the sender. Online stores, as a rule, write such a number on the order page. The postal identifier of parcels and letters sent within Russia is 14 digits, the number of international shipments includes a combination of Latin letters and numbers, a total of 13 characters.

Mail tracking is an additional guarantee of the safety and security of parcels, as well as saving everyone’s time. Instead of worrying about where the postal item is, going to the post office and finding out about the presence of the parcel, or waiting for the postman at home and being afraid to miss it, you just need to go to the site, enter the item number and get comprehensive information about its location and estimated date of arrival.

You can track a parcel, parcel or registered letter by postal ID number on the official website of the post office (or on another site for tracking shipments, which are very numerous on the Internet) using a special service for tracking shipments. In the search bar, you need to enter the number of the shipment without spaces, and you will see the status of the shipment in real time.

Postal items sent within Russia go through several stages of delivery:

  • delivery to the sorting center;
  • departure from the center of the dispatch sorting office;
  • delivery to the sorting center of the addressee’s post office;
  • sending from the sorting center of the addressee’s branch;
  • arrival of the item at the specified post office to the addressee;
  • direct delivery to the addressee.
