Casa Marina Beach & Reef All Inclusive 4* Puerto Plata / Dominican Republic – reviews and prices for tours to the hotel

Author name: InnaPublish date: 2021-11-24Hotel: Casa Marina Beach & Reef All Inclusive, Sosua, Dominican RepublicText of review : Superior room with ocean view was great! It was perfect for our family: spacious, freshly renovated, bright, clean, appliances worked properly – everything was new. The beds are large and comfortable, crisp white linen, air conditioning worked well. Loved the pool! Plenty of space, enough sunbeds for everyone. Considering that now there is a pandemic, the distance between sunbeds is decent. The beach is clean, the sea is transparent blue. There are waves sometimes, but we are all good swimmers, so this is not a problem for us. The food for a four star hotel could be better. For sanitary reasons, most restaurants are closed, so they ate mostly, the cuisine is good. The service staff with us was polite and helpful. The hotel pays a lot of attention to compliance with safety rules in the context of the COVID-19 pandemicEmployees are constantly reminded to keep the distance. We are very happy with our holiday! We do not regret visiting this wonderful hotel!

Author Name: IrinaPublish Date: 2021-11-24Hotel: Casa Marina Beach & Reef All Inclusive, Sosua, Dominican Republic Review text: The holiday was not perfect, but pretty good. The room in which we immediately settled in was disappointing from the first minutes. The room was dominated by a gray unfriendly atmosphere, there was old furniture. The room has not seen renovation for a long time and really needed it. When we booked a room of this category, we did not even assume that we would be offered something like this. For an additional fee, we moved from the cheapest room to a cozy, well-equipped room overlooking the ocean and pool. They cleaned every day, there are complaints about the quality of cleaning, towels were changed daily, the bed was not in a hurry to change (once in 10 days).
The food is simple, most importantly, edible. Just right for me: for breakfast – scrambled eggs, cheese, vegetables, sausage cuts, for lunch – side dishes, meat, chicken, soups. They weren’t hungry. The sea is great, the beach is clean. Sun loungers are provided free of charge, umbrellas $ 3. The entrance to the sea is sharp (for small children and those who cannot swim, it will not be easy to swim, especially when there are waves). How many pools are on the territory. In the one farther away where water aerobics classes were held, it was very quiet by the pool next to us. There were discotheques in the evenings. I don’t know where such a repertoire comes from! Junk! It was fun!
The attitude of the staff is not the same for everyone. Canadians are loved and courted in every possible way. Russians are not noticed, they do everything reluctantly, and they can be rude. I don’t say that all the staff are like that, but we didn’t see friendly faces every day.
We liked the rest. We were driving with a positive mood, and we tried not to pay attention to many things.

Author name: Olga Date of publication: 2019-08-13Hotel: Casa Marina Beach & Reef All Inclusive, Sosua, Dominican Republic Review text: I rested with my 9-year-old son. Flight is a separate issue. Full plane, uncomfortable seats. We flew at night, so for a couple of hours I stood between the seats, and my son tried to fit on two seats and sleep. I was sure that we would arrive and fall to sleep. But no, we flew to Puerto Plato, quickly got on buses and drove to the ocean. At the hotel, they unloaded into the amphitheater and called by name, an envelope with a key was prepared there, bracelets were molded right there. Everything is not fast, we managed to change clothes in the toilet (on the side of the stage) and take a walk where we were eager for turquoise water. There are two beaches on opposite sides of the hotel, both are clean with sunbeds. We alternated them for the rest. On the right, pleasant waves, beautiful shells pass through the hotel. To the left is calm and… The local population in the afternoon. They didn’t push, they were quite friendly. Families come. They were not allowed to the hotel (up the stairs), the guards were vigilant. Adapters for sockets can be bought on the street in shops, where you can exchange money and connect the Internet. For nutrition. We signed up for a la carte right away, but visited only once. Did not impress. We ate in the… Canteen (probably that’s what it’s called). Monotonous, but not hungry. Few fruits, sweet so-so. Somewhat puzzled by the lack of seafood. After dinner, my son occasionally hung out at the snack bar. The cocktails in the bars are tolerable, but on weekends they serve their local Americans forward. And them since Friday…. Well, a lot. My son affectionately called them locusts) I advise you to sign up for a la carte and excursions for the weekend. So you avoid discomfort as much as possible. At the same time, taking into account the time difference, only Russians came to breakfast by 7 in the morning. At lunch and dinner at the weekend there is a queue. I can’t say anything about the pools, except that they were)) and my son and I swam without getting out in the ocean. A boat sails on the beach to the left, you can ride inexpensively and feed the fish. My son rode with the Russian guys, he was delighted, he says they opened the transparent bottom and saw a lot of fish under their feet. On excursions. In Puerto Plateau, I’m not happy, I could do without. Another one to Saona, Millionaires Falls, on horses (mini, but not ponies). We were very exhausted for the whole day, but in general there were a lot of pleasant emotions. We came to rest and had a great rest)))

Author Name: MichaelPublish Date: 2019-02-02Hotel: Casa Marina Beach & Reef All Inclusive, Sosua, Dominican Republic Review text: Hello everyone! We were at the hotel from 01/13/19 to 01/24/19. We flew to Samana airport, went through customs pretty quickly. It takes about 3 hours to get from the airport to the hotel. At the airport, we were met by a girl from Pegasus, Maria. Who accompanied us to the hotel. We ended up at the hotel after lunch, so check-in went quickly and without delay. We got a room on the fourth floor, in building F. Yes, there was no European-style renovation, but this did not bother us, because they were not going to sit in the room. The view from the window was of a small pool and the ocean, sleeping under the sound of the waves at night is a dream. The bed and towel were clean and ironed. There was no bad smell in the room. The rest of the standard set of refrigerator, hair dryer, mini bar, TV. The room was cleaned every day. Cleaned well, towels changed every day. There are many different drinks and cocktails in the bars. As for the food, we really enjoyed it. I think that no one was left hungry, especially those with a sweet tooth. In a la carte visits are allowed 5. We went to each one by one. The fish of course is terrible. Mexican and Italian are good. But for the most part, the food is no worse. The territory of the hotel is large, well-groomed. The staff constantly monitors cleanliness. In general, I want to say that the guys are friendly and welcoming. Service for Russians is the same everywhere as for foreigners, advantages do not make anyone. The pools are clean, the water is fresh in the pools and in the jacuzzi, but as for me, it is a bit cool. The ocean is an indescribable emotion. Cleanest and warm water, clean beaches. There is free access to the city from the hotel. We walked a little along the neighboring streets. We did not meet anyone with weapons (although, to be honest, they did not look for it). But the locals are fine. Money was changed in an exchanger not far from the hotel, they did not go to the bank. We went on two excursions from Pegasus. The first sightseeing tour, along Puerto Plata, lasted half a day and cost $65 per person. This includes climbing the mountain, where they let us walk and take photos. Then we were taken to a rum and cigar factory. And at the end we stopped at the central square with the Catholic Cathedral. Summing up this excursion was a supermarket where the guide gave a brief instruction on choosing coffee, rum, chocolate and cocoa (thanks Maria). The second excursion is whales and Bacardi Island, the cost of this pleasure is $ 150 per person. What I want to say the whales were great. The island is beautiful, but there are a lot of people. For the promised free sunbeds, the locals asked for a dollar. The tour included breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was normal (for us, scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit and coffee), lunch, of course, an inexpressible feeling to say that it’s not very good to say nothing (but these are all trifles) there are a lot of impressions of whales and the beauty of the island. In the end, I want to say that the rest it will pass as you want, so make him happy, and the staff will only help you with this. Thank you all very much.
