4 of the Best Shopping Malls in Puerto Rico

If you are visiting Puerto Rico, or just need to spruce up your warm-weather wardrobe, Puerto Rico has some great shopping mall choices–the best in the Caribbean. Whether you are looking for designer outlet mall bargains, mainland designer fashions, or just a local Gap store, you can find everything you would want in one of PR’s malls.

How to Dress in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is located in a tropical zone. Regardless what season of the year it is you will need clothing for very warm temperatures year-round. Jackets, sweaters, gloves and scarves are not much use here. In Puerto Rico you’ll find locals, accustomed to the heat, wearing lots of jeans, shorts, yoga pants, form-fitting dresses and loose tees. Sandals and flip-flops are a must.

If you are planning on travel to Puerto Rico in the winter or fall, that’s a great time to take advantage of warm-weather clothing sales. Even though locals aren’t buying, national stores still stock the shelves with sweaters, coats and boots.

For all of your shopping needs, we chose the 4 best shopping malls in Puerto Rico. The malls are located in different zones of the country, so no matter where you are, you will have at least one of them close to you.

Buckle your seat belts because we are going to go SHOPPING!

Plaza Las Americas

A personal favorite and the biggest shopping mall in the Caribbean, the best place to look for anything you may need would definitely be Plaza las Americas. Located next to San Juan’s two main highways this mall has literally more clothes stores under one roof than any other place in Puerto Rico! And its best feature is that it is very easy to find.

Las Américas offers its customers the widest variety of shopping and dining experiences. It has over 300 stores including the only Macy’s in the Caribbean and the largest JC Penney (it has 3 floors). You can also find other popular stores such as Forever 21, Zara, Banana Republic, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Express, Old Navy, among many others.

In addition, the mall also has a Caribbean Cinemas, more than 40 dining alternatives at La Terraza Food Court and ample parking with valet service.
