Como la isla es por excelencia un destino de cruceros, el puerto de San Juan reanudó sus operaciones solo 2.5 semanas después del paso del huracán María. El puerto en Ponce reanudó su actividad en diciembre de 2017 y lo que alguna vez se utilizó exclusivamente como puerto de carga, actualmente recibe a más de 1. 2 millones de pasajeros que llegan de cruceros turísticos por el Caribe.

Además, Puerto Rico ahora tiene 14 cruceros disponibles (4 más que el año pasado) por lo que se espera un crecimiento del 22% en el tráfico de pasajeros.
