    Golf Club Review- solid

This is a review of the golf club. It’s solid but not great. The Ocean Course is challenging with a lot of water so you need to make careful choices to go over/around. Fairways are very good and the course design is really nice. Greens are slow and could be improved.

Very expensive at 175 for greens fees but not surprising given that its a resort course.

    Casual Place

This complex has two good, casual restaurants. One night there was entertainment, which was nice to listen to while the open air breeze came through. Shrimp fajitas & salmon were great. Service very friendly & attentive.

Golf at El Conquistador – Thank you Robert and Allan

The starter/bag guy/greeter, Robert, gets a 5/5 for his supreme service. Very accommodating, friendly and helpful. He even makes a fantastic cup of great local coffee.

My son and I played 3 straight days. We were cursing out Arthur Hills during day 1 for the blind shots and quirky holes. By day 3 we had much more fun because we new distances and places not to hit it.

The pins were in the exact same places all 3 days and they were on shelves, tucked in corners and barely a pace or 2 from the edges.

Very hilly. Gas golf carts with no GPS – which would have been helpful.

Cart girl was excellent and timely.

The lunch and drink menu Post golf was great. You can’t go wrong if you drink the local beer and get a chicken sandwich.

    Beautiful area

This place is gorgeous! I was here during hurricane Irma, and the grounds crew were hot on it to get the place cleaned up after the storm.
Anyone visiting, make certain to bring your sunscreen & drink plenty of water because it is humid.

    International/ The Scenic Route

Of the two courses at Coco I prefer International, over hills, through swamps, along the river and over lakes. Both courses are well attended. I find International less traveled. More fun, more scenic, more challenging. A well run course, fairly expensive but without a doubt among PR’s best.

    Challenging 18 with Amazing Views

This Robert Trent Jones designed course has several holes that hug the coastline of the Dorado Beach Resort.

Caddies are required on most days. This is the nicest, most famous, and most expensive of the 3 TPC Dorado Beach courses.

A great course for a challenging round in a beautiful setting. For the 19th Hole there is Bar Lovento on the beach or Zafra in the club house. Both make excellent mojitos and very good food.

Golf with the 11 year old grandson

This a 27 hole track with views of the Carib. sea & several ponds. Tees & fairways were OK although you occasionally had to move off some bare spots. Greens were excellent. Practice area available & a decent size practice putting green. They wanted $40.00 to rent a new set of Titlist clubs. That was almost as much as the cart & green fee. I opted for the old used set for $10.00. Bar & rest. on site along with a pool (if staying @ the next door Hilton).

    B+. Good golf

This course which is a muni, is an excellent margin providing a nice round of golf for a quarter of whit you might pay elsewhere. It was not crowded and provided some stunning ocean views. It is very wide open with little rough so provides a ” resort” experience. Greens are difficult to read but roll pretty well. Well worth th trip

    Excellent Golf Experience

The Golf Club is located just few miles from Interstate PR-52. Accessible from Ponce or Metro area. Facilities are very well maintained and staff is very friendly and approachable. We played two 18-rounds and had a great time. Restaurant is upscale and prices for top shelf liquor were very reasonable. Burgers and Caribbean local food were excellent! The Golf premises have different fruit trees and a small plantation of bananas and plantains. The “Mofongo” and “Tostones” are made from scratch from their own plantation which make is for a unique experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Will make sure I visit this golf club on my trip to the island of Puerto Rico

While Dustin Johnson cemented his dominance in the World Rankings at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play World Championship, the lower ranks of the PGA Tour were sorting things out at the Puerto Rico Open. As a result, D.A. Points became the strongest in the Coco Beach golf club, having issued his third Tour title. Points started the final round with a series of five birdies in a row, allowing him to break away from his pursuers, who shared the lead with him at the end of 54 holes. nine0003

“As far as I remember, I have never performed five birdies in a row at the very start,” Points shared his impressions. “It was a lot of fun, I just hit the fairway, sent the ball to the flag and rolled up a light birdie.”

The light streak ended soon, and the leader got a pair of bogeys at the end of the first nine, adding one plus to them on the tenth hole. However, at the end of the round, the veteran managed to find his game and went through four of the six final holes in the birdie, scoring a victory with a final score of 268 (-20). Points will not play in the Masters Major as the Puerto Rico Open is a sideline to the World Championship, but we will still be able to see him at the PGA Championship Major and January’s Tournament of Champions. But for a golfer who lost his PGA Tour card a year ago, the fact that he regained a full membership in the Tour before the end of next season is much more important. nine0009
Second place at minus 18 was shared by Retief Goosen, Bill Lunde, who played eight strokes better, and Bryson DeChambeau, one of the most promising representatives of American youth, whose path in the elite division is still difficult to call smooth. .

Why is Chi-Chi Rodriguez one of the most famous golfers? — Golf Event

Posted on Authorgolfpa5h

Juan Antonio “Chi-Chi”
Rodriguez (Juan Antonio “Chi-Chi” Rodriguez) is a well-known professional
golfer from Puerto Rico. He was born on October 23, 1935 years old and is the first Puerto Rican
inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Rodriguez won 8 PGA Tour tournaments and 22 PGA Tour tournaments for
seniors (Senior PGA Tour). Rodriguez became famous among his admirers
the famous “dance of the bullfighter”, which he performed on the field with a club. This dance
inspired his fans to success. But also the story of the life that led Chi-Chi
to victories serves as an even greater incentive to achieve results in any sport.

Childhood and youth

Chi-Chi Rodriguez was born October 23, 1935 in Puerto Rico to a poor family. In addition to him, the family had 5 more children. His father was a laborer and earned only $18 a week. At the age of seven, Rodriguez began working on a sugar plantation as a water carrier to help support the family. At that time, the boy realized that he would earn more if the caddy started working.

1970 Chi-Chi Rodriguez and his caddy

At the age of 8, Chi-Chi Rodriguez started working as a caddy. Then he liked golf. He made himself a club out of guava wood, and used an empty tin can as a golf ball. He began to train and by the age of nine he had already achieved visible success, and at the age of 12 he could already play a field of 67 strokes (5 strokes less than a par). At 19years (in 1957) Rodriguez began to serve in the US Army. And during his service, he continued to train and devoted all his free time to honing his blows. After the army, he returned to Puerto Rico and began working as a caddy master at the Dorado Beach Golf Club.

Pro career

At the age of 25, Chi-Chi Rodriguez became a professional golfer and made his PGA Tour debut at the 1960 Buick Open. Three years later, he won the Denver Open. After this victory, he won 7 more PGA Tour tournaments in the under-19 period.79 years old. At first he had a habit of putting his hat down on the hole after he had hit a “birdie” and an “eagle” (played the hole better by 1 and 2 strokes respectively). However, many golfers began to complain, and Rodriguez found a new “chip” – the “dance of the bullfighter” – a short performance with a club to excite his fans.

Senior tour career

In 1985
Chi-Chi Rodriguez turned 50 and qualified to play on the Senior PGA Tour (now the Champions Tour). Transition to a new sports
level promised him even greater success. From 1986 to 1993 he wins 22
tournament. In doing so, he became the first player in history to win 3 Senior PGA Tour tournaments in a row. In 1987 he established
a new record by playing 8 consecutive holes under par. These “birdies” helped him
win the Silver Pages Classic.

Chi-Chi Rodriguez received
Hispanic Recognition Award in 1986. Also in 1989 he was
awarded the Bob Jones Award for outstanding sports
golf skill. At 19Rodriguez was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in ’92
becoming the first Puerto Rican to receive such recognition.
