where to go and how much it costs
Let’s talk about the Belgrade Bus Station today? Traveling around the country by bus is very convenient and inexpensive. It is also a great way to quickly get to other countries. Buses are always full, so you need to buy tickets for popular destinations in advance.
Content:
- 1. Where can I go
- 1.1. Directions and routes
- 1.2. Approximate prices for trips in Serbia
- 1. 3. Transport companies
- 2. Location and how to get there

- 5. Exit to the platforms, waiting room
1. Where can you go
I want to say right away that traveling by bus in Serbia is much more convenient than by train. This is confirmed even by the locals. Let’s see what options travelers have?
Entrance to the Belgrade bus station:
You can order a transfer from the station in advance online here, so as not to look for a taxi. For example, a trip from the station to New Belgrade will cost 1000 dinars. By the way, on the same site you can organize a trip to another city. To get from the station to Nis will cost 17,000 dinars.
Belgrade bus station:
For example, we went from Belgrade by bus to the city of Novi Sad. The journey took about 2 hours, but the bus was comfortable, so there were no problems.
By the way, how to get from the airport to the bus station Belgrade? By bus A1 – the shuttle bus runs from the station to the airport every 30-40 minutes. This is convenient, because from the airport you can immediately get to the center.

1.1. Destinations and routes
In Serbia:
- Nis;
- Novi Sad;
- Kraljevo;
- Knyazevac;
- Novi Pazar;
- Zajechar;
- Zlatibor;
- Subotica;
- Krusevac;
- Kragujevac;
- Surdulica, etc.
Flight schedule:
Neighbor countries:
- Croatia;
- Montenegro;
- Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- Bulgaria;
- Macedonia;
- Slovenia;
- Hungary.
Long distance buses:
- Belgium;
- Italy;
- Austria;
- Greece;
- Denmark;
- Germany;
- Slovakia;
- France;
- Holland;
- Czech Republic;
- Sweden;
- Switzerland.
Long distance bus schedule:
Of course, travel will take time, but this is a convenient and easy way. Yes, I also want to say about the borders – it is not very convenient to pass the borders “on the ground”. The entire bus is often asked to go outside, one by one through the window of the border guard.
It is often asked to remove all luggage (even from the luggage compartment) for inspection. Some border guards simply collect passports and then return them. This is more convenient, but this is not always the case.
Another travel option I would like to recommend is rent a car . You can travel around Serbia not only by bus. Renting a car is inexpensive, but you have great opportunities to see the country by organizing your own trip. For example, in the economybooking service, for only 7.25 euros per day, you can rent a comfortable Ford Fiesta. And for 10.93 euros – a bigger car, for example, Chevrolet Spark.
Bus station logo:
1.2. Approximate prices for travel within Serbia
From Belgrade to:
- Niche, one way: 1100 RSD;
- Novi Sad, one way: 800 RSD;
- Knyazhevac, one way 1500 dinars;
- Surdulica, one way 1650 dinars,
- Krusevac, one way 800 RSD.
1.3. Transport companies
Transportation companies:
- Lasta;
- Rocket;
- Nish-Express;
- Duga;
- Lastra;
- Banbus;
- Kanis;
- BS Tours.
Tickets can be bought both at the box office and in advance online. One of the convenient sites for finding tickets in Europe is goeuro.com.
Schedule of niche expression:
Carrier offices:
2. Where is it and how to get
Address: železnička 4
Location:
is almost in the railway station building. The central bus station is conveniently located – almost between the Old and New Towns. You can walk from the center on foot. The entrance to the station is next to the side entrance to the railway on the right side.
How can I get to the bus station? Let’s figure it out.
2.1. by city bus/minibus
Trams go to the station:
- 2,3,7,9;
- 9, 7 – from New Belgrade.
To the stop Železnička stanica.
2.2. by taxi
Just tell the taxi driver “Autobuska stanica” or “Železnička stanica”.
3. How to find your way around the bus station
It’s very simple. Enter the station:
On the left side of the ticket office, bus schedule, list of directions. Buy a ticket, get a token to enter the platform. Don’t lose it! A new one will cost 180 dinars.
From the right side the platforms start. The number of the platform is written on the ticket – look for it, exit through the turnstile to the platform. Get on the bus. The bus usually has a sign with the destination.
There are shops, newsstands, cafes from the ticket office. If you go a little further – a left-luggage office, which will cost 150 dinars per day.
There is a post office at the station:
Bus station ticket office:
There is a toilet next to the entrance to the station. Paid, costs 50 dinars.
If you have any questions, ask at the information desk:
Unfortunately, everything can be paid only in cash, cards are not accepted, but there are ATMs and currency exchange at the station:
4. Where to eat
There are several cafes, all located almost at the entrance to the station next to the ticket office. But there is nothing interesting there – just a quick bite to eat, drink coffee. I advise you to leave the station building – right in front of you across the road there will be several city cafes and restaurants.
Station bakery:
Assortment:
At the station you can buy water, newspapers, magazines, sandwiches – everything you need to hit the road.
Local cafe:
By the way, buses make stops, even express trains. For example, the express to Nis stops for 10 minutes at a gas station. There is a cafe there, you will have time to eat, buy water.
Cafe at the station:
5. Exit to the platforms, waiting room
The waiting room is located right next to the ticket office. Ordinary benches and chairs. Don’t expect special amenities – everything is simple. Reminds me of Soviet times.
Platform exit:
Here you can buy everything you need for the trip:
You can also buy souvenirs here:
:
Intercity and international buses in Serbia are a convenient form of transport and quite developed. It is impossible to get confused or lost at the station – it is very simple. Buses to popular destinations run several times a day.
Traveling by bus is certainly time consuming. For example, a trip to Montenegro will take at least 12 hours, you can get to Nis in 3 hours, to Novi Sad in 1.
